brucemorris
I received the new Steel Beasts Pro PE April 9 and installed it on my game computer. Before I created any new maps or missions I could access the Tank Range from the Main Menu. Now after choosing the Tank Range and choosing any vehicle the "loading mission as Lt Default" and "loading mission" boxes pop up and then goes back to the Main Menu screen. Adding a new user has the same result. Installed to use XP.Am I doing something wrong or is there something else I should have done?Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1 Dual BootASUS Maximus II Formula LGA 775 Intel P45 Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83GHz 12MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop MemoryBruce Morris

It shouldn't have caused any problems, but I am interested that you only experience this after apparently adding something?

GH_Lieste
Nothing intrinsically wrong with the scn file. A simple mission with 4T72, 6 BTR and 3 trucks getting ambushed by player 4 M1A1 and 4 M2A2 plus UAV.Have you moved the installation folder? The only thing I can think of is that the SB exe can't find the /actors/veh/*.mrf files in the correct location.edit: Actually disregard - the absence of the actors/veh folder allows the tank range to run, just with the view point at ground level, no visual models and no control. (None of which is surprising).
brucemorris
I did install to G:\Steel Beasts. Instant action on the Main Menu works as does the created mission. I made some mistakes on the routes on the mission I made but corrected them as I find problems, i.e. the T72's never moved off down the road until I had removed of the routes. Corrected to increase spacing, formation, speed etc.All of the vehicle mrf files appear to in the Actors/Veh folder.Bruce
Administrators Sean Posted April 12, 2009 Administrators Share Posted April 12, 2009 Ok, I guess I got confused here. I need to see the error log after you have tried running the tank range. Does it have anything different in there? It might be worth reinstalling to the default folder and see if that fixes the problem.
brucemorris
Sean,I will reinstall today or tomorrow and let the installation default to C: drive.I will also recreate the *.ter and *.sce files from scratch and let you know what happens.Everyone's interest and help with this is greatly appreciated.Bruce
GH_Lieste
Not a requirement to install onto C:\ - mine is located at E:\Program Files, and causes no problems. You might run foul with windows' autodiscovery of drives if your G:\ isn't a fixed drive assignment but can change depending on devices detected or mapped.
