A trip that should last just over an hour will become a 295-mile odyssey, involving seven changes, five bus journeys and a trip on the London Underground.Passengers attempting to book a seat to London St Pancras on the operator's website are being advised to catch the 1.35pm train to Derby and then transfer onto a bus to Blythe Bridge. I've lost track of how many weekend trips have been ruined by engineering works, train and signal failures.
