dpabrams
Been working hard pimpimg out the T-62. I have stolen about all I can from the T-55, texture wise. As usual, glass, road wheels and lots of texture work. There is a wonky turret texture that will mean I have to warp a turret number or two. I wanted to get the color close to the T-55.
dpabrams
OK, this is about 8 hours of work. I think the most I have ever done for one skin. Details to numerous to mention but it looks like a new model. First up a comparrison with the original T-62.

dpabrams
The T-80U will require some drawn parts, which is time consuming as I relearn some old forgotten skills. There is also some photo splices and lots of stolen parts from existing T-72's.

dpabrams
I don’t know how the pros do it but this is about 16 hours’ work. Overall about 85% there. Added a bunch of details to include custom artwork and photo splices. Textures have been added extensively to the turret and welds as well. A new paint job is also in order. Still adding parts and trying to find some pesky textures. Up close it’s the best I can make it as it is an older model. At engagement ranges she makes an awesome target. Not sure when I can finish, this is by far my most ambitious job.

dpabrams
A rare scheme to celebrate the “Tanker’s Holiday” in 2006. Detail creep has set in. I figure if I spend days on this thing, it better be the best I can do. I will include a normal T-80 with tactical numbers and maybe some weathering. About 90% there.
dpabrams
Weathered and decals added. Just one more thing and that is to locate the steel cable. Anyone know? Once I do the cable she is ready.
dpabrams
After about 3 days I am finished and the T-80U is up. It’s a standard weathered version with tactical numbers. The whole texture had been redone. Many parts are from the T-72 were used as well as photo splices. Still much had to be drawn and painstakingly created from scratch, using reference photos and mechanical drawings. Wheels, bolts, screens and details too numerous to mention were added. Texture was added to the cast turret and all the sights and vision blocks finished. The turret was extensively detailed and as much detail added as possible. I hope you enjoy it.

I can't wait to download it. The scenario I'm developing features the T-80U so it couldn't be better timing.
