Mission Summary :
The enemy has moved into sector and maybe trying to cut off our supply route that runs pass our AA. The enemy consists of russian equipment and outnumber you 3 to 1.

Apache company is to move to the Crossroads (SP1) and secure it.

AVRANCHES  by Connaugh

 

SITUATION:

The Bavarians are holding the key town of Avranches which needs to be taken to set up the planned offensive in Brittany.


MISSION:

Allied forces intend to take the city of Avranches and the DOW Armored Force is to advance south and take control of the town.
 

EXECUTION:

Combat Command A (CCA) will advance south and occupy Cerences and Granville and then assault Avranches. Combat Command B (CCB) will occupy Notre Dame-Cenily and VilleDieu Les Poles and assist CCA with Avranches. Intelligence has ascertained that elements of the 69th Infantry and 17th Panzer Grenadier Brigades are manning the towns and hamlets in the area of operations. The 116th Panzer Brigade is expected to counter our advance.

Enforcing peace by Redwardancer 

 

 

MISSION:

B Company (1st Royal Welsh Regiment of Dragoons, 12th Armoured Infantry Brigade) must defend the area and destroy and Al-Shabaab forces who attempt to take control of Galinsoor or attempting to make a breakthrough to the east.  We must also protect the civilians in the area.  We have no reinforcements to call upon as we are the only units in the area, while the rest of the regiment is still in Mogadishu.

SITUATION:

 Opfor have been attacking from the east and north for the last week. 2/69 Armor has been doing a pretty good job in defending. About 3 hours ago the 2/69 commanding officer 113A1 was hit and suffered damage. 3/66 Armor has been called in to come and recovered the 2/69 commanders 113A1.  The enemy consists of modern Russian

equipment.

Dug in on the crest line and holding fire till about 2500 meters. I wish there was a parameter to set engagement range. I noticed you can do it on routes but not way points?

 

It's been a blast tinkering with this mission. Reminds me of the old NTC days. B|

Yes that's right but if you break the one one big route (presumably with several waypoints) down into a collection of smaller route segments and with tactics where the waypoints were and "embark if ..." conditions to advance, then you can set the fire control parameter for each of those tactics.

 

Of course if you mean lots of waypoints close together (say going through a winding valley) it may not be practical/convenient.

 

BTW, I'm working on the basis that you are referring to "waypoints" as the black dots you create along a route.

 

If you mean an actual "waypoint" (a "X" at the end of a route) then "yes" you can set a fire control setting there regardless of whether you have a tactic allocated or not).

"Set fire control" is an option both for unit context menus, routes, and waypoints. At least you can define at which point they start blasting away at everything. What you can't do is to limit their fire to specific types of target, and/or specific ranges. We'll have to do something about that, eventually.

Okay, I found it! I must be getting blind in my old age. I set Bradley's at 3.5k and M1s at 2.5k. It's possible to run out of ammo if you fire before you see the whites of their eyes in the scenario. Thanks guys for all the information.
