deerhunter
When I go to test a mission, when I get to the start screen and click start, I get this Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error: runtime error: c:\program files\esim games\SBPro Pe\Release\SBPro Pecm.exeAbnormal Program Termination.I have fresh reinstalled 3 times. It does this no matter what scenerio I test. As soon as I hit the start button I get this error. When I click OK on the Microsoft error box it crashes to desktop.I am running Windows XP Professional version 2002, Ser Pack 3Intel core 2 duo- cpu E8500 @3.5 Gh with 3.25 GB Ram.My graphics card is a Radeon HD5670. One GB-GDDR5Thanks in advance for your help.Love this simulation!!
Members Retro
Hmm.. could you check your '<windows installation root folder>\minidump' directoy for any crashdump file that's (hopefully) created if you get this exception? If there is, could you upload it (zip and attach to a forum post)? If not, if the application crashes, does it give you the option to upload information to Microsoft? If so, please do. Otherwise, is there any other information the system offers when it shuts down SB?
deerhunter
I hate to tell you, but I can't find the microsoft installation root folder. Can you give me a little more details as to how to get to it?No, it doesn't it give me any instructions after it pops up. It is just there until I hit OK and then crashes to desktop. You can hear the sound of the game in the background for a few seconds before it crashes. Thanks
Members Retro
Sorry that was an overly complicated term for (most likely) C:\Windows (so the miniump folder would be c:\windows\minidump). You could just type %windir% into your explorer's address bar as well..
deerhunter
I had found that file and didn't think it was the right folder because the only thing there is two old files. The last one is dated 12/12.
Members Retro
Yes.. hmm.I guess there is not anything in SB's debug log ('my documents' -> eSim Games\Steel Beasts\logs)? Could you maybe attach it?I'm not sure how comfortable you are with your PC, but maybe the Windows Event Log holds a clue as to what's happening.. here's a rather technical article how to view it. What you should be looking for would be an 'error' type event in either the application or the system log around the time SB gets terminated..
