Tacbat
Most are using Photoshop or Gimp as the editing program.

DarkAngel
You don't want to be working on the dds files. You need to grab the PSD templates uploaded in the DL section. These are the layered images that the artists create for their models. The beauty with these files is that all you have to change is the paint layers without touching the weathering layers. The downside is you really need photoshop to open them and it is NOT a cheap product.Well having said that you can open the files in PSP but a lot of the layer information and styles will be lost.
ooCURToo
To convert files from dds to psd and vice versa I use Paint.net:http://www.getpaint.net/index.htmlI work on my project in Photoshop, convert it to dds in Paint.net, then tranfer the file to the appropriate SB directory.

EMiner
I've been using the Nvidia plug in for a while now...It works great. Just use the default settings.
Lusik
Hi, I'm new to SB Pro PE but I've already got much into it. It's a great sim with a great level of realism. I've been trying to play with some of the textures, though to improve the visuals. For a start I wanted to improve gun sight reticle but I cannot find the file anywhere. Do you know if its hardcoded into the model?I use PS6 for editing.
DarkAngel
Hard coded. Its usually a vector object.
