Gibsonm
Yes that's the other aspect. The fit is "snug" for the Commander, Gunner and Driver in most of these vehicles so short of it rolling, the chances of you being thrown around is pretty limited because there is no space to build up speed.I guess a simple comparison is a bus or subway/tube carriage. If its peak hour and the train stops you don't move much because of the press of people all around you.Off peak with no one in the carriage and the same stopping would probably move you around if you didn't hold onto something.
CR2_Commander
CR2 is fitted with seat belts through out but seldom used. Commander is usually head out, loader needs to be free to load and be ready to clear any stoppages. Gunner had a belt to but to stop him rolling about he has an adjustable chest pad so he can litterally box himself into his seat. Ref the thumb controller it is very good. It works by the use of pressure rarther than using any real movement. Its very smooth for tracking. If you have an inexperienced gunner though, he may sometimes when using it for the first time of the day apply to much pressure and cause the turret to jolt a bit but its very easy to adjust and callibrate your thumb so to speak.

Yep, I recall nearly having you roll off the back of the turret during our guided tour last year Edited January 23, 2014 by hoggydog awful spelling

hoggydog
I think it was both of us tbh. CR2 Commander was very patient
Tjay
A final plea for joystick control of the Warrior and Scimitar turrets to be implemented - with a rate of traverse and elevation at full stick travel to represent the maximum possible in real life with the manual controls. ...and should have added 'fine control exercised by reducing the dead zone to normal'. After all, from what I've gathered, fine control in the real vehicle via the hand cranks is very good. Fine control in the sim via use of the cursor keys is not. :icon_frown:
Lt DeFault
are the gunners strapped in some how to prevent body movement, not belts per se but some type of bar or device to hold them still? I thought that's what these were: Admittedly not quite like an "amusement ride", but if they're not to restrict movement/ stabilize the gunner, then what are they?
