Gottel
Hello, when beeing autside the tank (F8) und using the zoom (n/mouse) it happens (mostly on multiplayer, that I host) that in F8 I see wooods, and when using the zoom, the wood goes away and I see the enemy units, which were not visible before. As gunner, when using zoom, I could also see more tha I should. Other players dont have this problem, they don't have the woods disappear while zooming. Is this a known problem?I use Vista, with latest drivers. Thanks alotGottel.
Administrators Sean Posted July 9, 2007 Administrators Share Posted July 9, 2007 Try downgrading the graphics drivers - the newer ones seem to have some bugs in them.
Koen
I'm having this with Win XP as well, on a 1-year old computer. So problem is not Vista related ?Rgds,Koen
sabot_ready
Certain maps also bring out this . The one that "Test of Metal" uses is one I know of.
bergmania
Happens for me on the hunfeld.raw map to (Its the map thats in the Battle for Ljusnan Valley), The pine forrest in it doesn't look like the pine forrest in the fulda_alt map tho, maybe something related to using a map originating from SB1??
Administrators Sean Posted July 10, 2007 Administrators Share Posted July 10, 2007 Ahhh. Ok. The SB1 map converter has/had a bug in it where it converted some of the trees into strange pseudo bushes that appeared and disappeared quickly at short ranges.
Gottel
Thaks for the informations.I think I've seen this bug, bushes and trees are more looking like fences of small black wires ...I will also try older graphic drivers, the new ones feel strange also in some other games as well.Gottel
YorkshireTea
Yes, I've got this too on certain maps, I mentioned it on the Vista Graphics Problem thread in the support forum. I assumed it was a driver problem, so was waiting for new nVidia Vista drivers for the 8800. Downgrading drivers doesn't seem a viable option on Vista, due to the added system instability and other games failing.
Gottel
I have seen new nvidia beta driver are out, for vista and 8800 , version is 163.11. I have installed drivers, maybe I have zo test tomorrow.Gottel
Koen
The above mentioned problem is still bugging me with the BETA: - zoom in => forests change shape (trees become thin wires) & disappear finally => ENY behind trees become visible Cfr. 3 successive screenshots in attached RAR. Computer= WIN XP - nvidia 6600 GT 128 MB Any solution possible ? THX, Koen 02-12-08.rar

DarkAngel
In the SB options set the z-buffer to 16 bit. I found that cured the problem with flickering trees on the 8800.

Members Ssnake
That dialog box was added after the manual was printed. Eventually we'll add this in the new print. I think however that some additional measures were taken to deal with the "disappearing forests" thing, so it should be less of an issue with the next release version this December.
