Hedgehog
Does “Puma” get an award for the most oft recycled AFV name?Puma = SdKfz 234/2, 8 wheeled German armoured car from the Second World War.Puma = current tracked German IFV (and possible L400 contender).Puma = the above vehicle mentioned by 12Alfa.Any more ....?The Helicopter? But then that's not really armoured or a fighting vehicle....
Gibsonm
Yes I was trying to limit it to its use as an AFV name, hence why I didn’t include the animal either.
12Alfa
PumaThe baseline APC version of the Puma is armed with a 12.7mm M2 machine gun. However, the vehicles can be fitted with a range of turrets and cupolas developed by Oto Melara, including one with a remote-controlled weapon.IVECO has developed a number of specialised versions of the Puma for the Italian Army. These include ambulance, command post, 81mm mortar, air defence with MBDA Mistral missiles and two anti-tank (one with the Raytheon TOWhttp://modelist-konstruktor.com/img/4875/1.jpg and one with the Euromissile MILAN anti-tank guided missile system). https://alamarimusicali.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/puma6x6eiirq.jpghttp://www.autosupermarket.it/magazine/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/202.jpgHitrole Remote Weapons System http://www.warwheels.net/images/Puma6x6baum%20%283%29.jpghttps://www.nikonclub.it/forum/uploads/storage//201306/detail_thumb_p17sv7eitdno61rlsbri1o7d16q26.JPGhttp://i.res.24o.it/images2010/SoleOnLine5/_Immagini/ArticleGallery/Notizie/2013/vendita-armi/02-Blindo-Puma.jpg?uuid=8006ff36-cab7-11e2-ae01-ae2b3243683d

12Alfa
ERC 90 SagaieThe ERC 90 “Sagaie” is a French heavily armed reconnaissance vehicle and tank destroyer. The ERC designation stands for “Engin à Roues, Canon” (wheeled vehicle, gun-equipped). It was named “Sagaie” after a type of African spear, suggesting its designers’ third world export intentions. http://armour.ws/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/ERC-90_Sagaie_Line_Drawing_France_01.gifThe ERC series was developed from 1975 as a private venture by the French Panhard company with the intention to sell it to less-developed countries that could afford to support the infrastructure and costs of modern main battle tanks as an affordable source of firepower. The first prototype was shown to public in 1977 and in 1979 the first ERC vehicles started rolling out of the Panhard factory in Marolles. http://www.theworldwars.net/weapons/pictures/land/fr/photos/photo_fr_erc90_2.jpgThe earlier ERC variant from 1977 was called “Lynx” and was equipped with a 90mm CN90 F1 gun that was essentially a HEAT-firing cannon, powerful but not enough to become a true tank killer. The French realized at that point that there would be a large export market available for a wheeled tank destroyer armed with something powerful enough to knock out the ubiquitous variants of the Soviet medium tanks (including the T-72). To that end, they installed the powerful 90mm CN90 F4 into the TS90 turret and called this variant the “Sagaie”. This gun could fire (amongst other things) advanced APFSDS rounds capable of dealing with even more advanced enemy armor. http://www.militaryvehicle-photos.net/images/pf-military-vehicle/12724.jpg

12Alfa
ERC-90 Sagaie The all-welded steel hull provides the crew with protection against small arms fire and shell splinters. The floor of the hull consists of two plates welded together to form a flat V which helps the vehicle to slide off obstacles and stiffens the floor against damage from mines.https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5c/ERC_90_Sagaie-1RCA-IMG_5579.jpgThe driver is seated at the front of the hull, slightly to the left of the vehicle's centreline. This hatch is in two parts: one part, which contains the forward-facing periscope, folds forward onto the glacis plate and the second part folds upwards. The forward periscope can be replaced by an image intensification periscope for night driving, and there is an additional periscope either side of the driver's hatch cover.http://data4.primeportal.net/tanks/jean_thomas_rembert/erc_90/images/erc_90_12_of_30.jpg All vehicles in the range are powered by a militarised version of a Peugeot V-6 petrol engine which develops 145 hp at 5,500 rpm. DarkLabor
A common mistake that we meet on military forums is that ERC doesn't means "Engin Roues-Canon" but "Engin de Reconnaissance à Canon de 90 mm" Here a video I like where we see ROE applied and the problems with civies in the action zone : BYQzaehGK8k

12Alfa
TR-85 The Romanian TR-85 (the TR stands for Tank Romanesc - Tank Romanian) is a drastically modified version of the T-55 with a new turret, a new power pack that includes a German diesel engine, and a completely redesigned locally developed suspension. The turret is from the Soviet T-55 and the transmission and engine are derived from the German Leopard 1. But the TR-85 is far from a T-55 turret on a Leopard body, as the Leopard has seven road wheels, while the TR-85 has six. The T-55 [and the Romanian TR-77] have only five road wheels, and lack the skirt that is the prominent identificaiton feature for the TR-85.
