  3. Hi Gibsonm & all, In any case, we will repeat this scenario!

  5. I am a maybe. Depending on weather. Good chance I will show up but nothing is certain.
  6. I’m afraid as mentioned last week, I’ll be on an aircraft when you fight this. Good Luck!
  7. The Thermals on the M2A2 are accurate. The turret stabilization is not.

  9. It is no accident to the extent that the complexity of such a step up in mission scope and responsibility naturally is a steep upward learning step - but we didn't make it "extra hard" with malicious deliberation. Keep in mind, tank commanders usually receive about two years of training (one for basic tank soldiering, one to make a tank driver's license and then the Commander's course), and then an additional year or two to progress to the platoon leader position (if you're on the fast track of an officer's career, otherwise it might take six years or eight; of course that's not just all learning but also the practice of the art at all levels). But if you find things progressing too fast: Hey, there's a Planning Phase, even when you run a tutorial mission. So, make a plan. Think of when you want which unit to move, and give their routes corresponding embark conditions. And of course you can always order units to move at slower speed (but then you'll be exposed longer to enemy fire). The M1s in the tutorial give you above average protection, and I think the enemy is somewhat undergunned, so the cards are still stacked in your favor. It may be better to stick in defilade for a minute longer to prepare for the next move, but then move quickly. And as always, practice makes perfect.
  10. Case, hopefully, solved. Fellow software developers: Don't run Steel Beasts while your debugger is open. The CodeMeter runtime doesn't like that, and will lock the CodeMeter container in use. But if it has happened: Send me a CmDUST log file and a license request file, and I'll unlock your CM stick again (until you test my patience doing the same mistake over and over, at which point I'll assume malicious intent, or trolling).
  11. Yesterday
  12. No, it just creates clutter. I’ll answer the original thread. Oh no I can’t you deleted my response. Right did you read the description???? About “multiple units” and a simulation of armoured combat? Anyway, you can tell your direction in a few ways: 1. North is the top of the map (just like a real map). 2. In the 3D world, the lower right corner shows you a vehicle icon. The “front” of the vehicle will rotate as it changes position (e.g. if pointing down and to the right, its pointing SE). The barrel will point where the gun is pointing. There will be a white dot showing where you are looking if you are in say F8 mode.
  13. lol, the more the merrier? The mission is the final step in the tutorials that come with the game, for the M1A2.

A few leaf textures were not made for winter yet. So here you have now some edited leaf & gras textures for winter. Just put the RAR/ZIP file into the Winter-folder - unzip - done.
  15. I just discovered this about a week ago and have laying through the tutorials included with the game for the M1A2. I’ve also been watching the excellent videos in the sticky for beginners in this forum. Is the final mission included with the game intended to be very difficult? I’m finding it quite difficult to react to contacts while all units are moving forward so quickly. I'm also not sure the best way to use the CITV while in the TC position. Should I have it set to MAN SCAN, and then use the O button to designate targets for the gunner? Once the gunner says “identified”, as TC I should resume scanning for the next target? I’m having a hard time keeping track of where my tank is pointed and where the contacts are in relation to my tank, as I hear nearby units say “contact north” or “contact west” I can’t keep track of where that is lol. My CITV is spinning all over the place. Any basic tips for using the CITV or keeping one’s bearings while buttoned up and engaged?
  16. @Jartsev thank you for the advice. Email sent
  17. Please send an email to @Ssnake. This situation cannot be handled here, on web board, as I suspect. Mail address is his user name here @ avatar picture .com
  18. I just recently upgraded my Licence from 4.1 to 4.3. I encountered that I can't start SB anymore. After reinstalling SB and CM the error persits. Did some research on the Wibu support side and came across a entry that the Firm_counter has been set to 0 due to a Debugger Detection. As the PC I have SBinstalled is running as my work PC as well I have to Debug quite a lot of stuff as a profesional Software dev. Might have happend that SB was running minimized and Debugger accessed a memory area attached to SB, if so than this happend not intenionally. Is there a way to get the Licence running again?
  19. Last week
  20. Just a reminder... now two weeks out. That is, not this TGIF, but next one. 🕙 Whether we actually resume on the 26th depends on some things that have to happen from the two (new) COs that will take over (which at the moment I think will be BLUEFOR - CavGunner and OPFOR - DK). I will explain more after this TGIF...
  21. 19 MAR 2024: Future Wars-Suslik-4379b (yes, this is another train-up mission for what is coming the following TGIF...) SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Draft? Yes Random CO selection? Yes Minimum # players: 8 NOTES: Remember to play within the TGIF House Rules and SB.com Community Rules.
  22. the apparent lack of opsec protocols in an active warzone in the era of social media is surprising to me because no one really mentions it. drone operators for example disclosing theiir own approximate locations, the location snd disposition of their own side, ingress and egress routes as well as where they are searching for the other side whenever they upload their video, since generally voice comms are either secured or encoded- but not the twitter, tiktok or telegram video. in the past this kind of information may have signicantly lagged behind battlefield results so that any intelligence gathered by the other side would probably be untimely anyway, but in current wars anyone with an internet connection can follow along and assess where developments might occur
  23. Neat footage - although I'm always baffled how they get away with recording & uploading to the internet:
  24. The thought has crossed our minds, but we have more urgent tasks at hand for development, and ... there are other, non-intuitive factors to be considered that complicate the decision-making process.
