Company Team Bannon - Hold Obj Link
By GaryOwen
Company Team Bannon - OBJ Link
04 AUG 1986, Kernsbach.
The Cold War has gone hot and we're a couple days into the Third World War. Warsaw Pact and NATO forces are engaged in central Europe. The local situation is very fluid. Captain Bannon, your M1(IP) tank company is attached to a mechanized infantry battalion task force, TF 3/78 Inf. The battalion spent the previous night road marching. It is now ordered to conduct a forward passage of lines through the position of remaining elements of TF 2/93 Inf, who have been overwatching crossing points of the Kerns river along an important north/south line of communication. TF 2/93 Inf has one mech company at Kernsbach guarding the Althausen crossing and their scout platoon is overwatching the crossing near the village of Lemm. They report that there has been enemy activity in Althausen and Lemm and suspect that the bridges in these locations are covered with obstacles. They also report that the Kerns should be fordable for tanks along the stretch just north of the scout platoon screen position. The terrain feature opposite the 2/93 scouts just north of the river, marked on the map as OBJ LOG, is suspected to be occupied by a reinforced motor rifle company.
Our battalion, 3/78 Infantry, will pass forward to clear and hold the village of Arnsdorf in order to secure the line of communication. Your company team currently consists of one mechanzied infantry platoon, two tank platoons-your third platoon is short one tank lost to mechanical breakdown during last night's road march, your tank, the XO's tank, and an attached fire support team. Bravo Company is in place and the battalion mortar platoon is on-site. However, the task force became separated during the night road march and Charlie Company has not yet arrived. Nevertheless, the battalion commander has just directed you in very clear terms that your team will, without delay, cross the Kerns river and secure OBJ LOG. You will then also clear and secure OBJ Link. After OBJ LINK is cleared, Bravo Company will move to clear Vogelburg, and Charlie Company -provided they make it here- will move to clear Arnsdorf. You presently have priority of fire for the mortars.
*************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Designer's notes:
This scenario depicts a set of battles described in Harold Coyle's novel, 'Team Yankee'. The battles, as described, take place over the span of several hours. The company team takes significant losses securing LOG and then loses contact with the battalion as it clears LINK. The remaining elements of the team hold at LINK for the night, waiting to re-establish contact the following day. That night a motor rifle battalion counterattacks. This scenario generally follows the depiction with some slight modifications for gameplay. The scenario does not have a time limit and is designed to take place between 1900 hrs 04 AUG 1986 until about 0100 hrs 05 AUG 1986. It is intended that the player may manage the time using the pause, save game, and F12 time compression function. The F12 function compresses time if there is no contact between opposing forces. The player is tasked with clearing OBJ LOG and OBJ LINK, and then defends OBJ LINK from a counterattack. The counterattacking forces do not spawn until 'H-Hour', which is set as 2300 hrs. After spawning, the counterattacking forces take about 45 minutes to deploy before launching the counterattack. After clearing both objectives and preparing to defend OBJ LINK, the player may compress time until the counterattack so long as there are no remaining forces in contact. In order to facilitate gameplay by insuring that no undetected enemy forces may prevent use of the time compression function, clearing OBJ LOG is an event that once satisfied will result in a text message that the objective is clear.
The scenario will end if there are no longer any of the player's forces in OBJ LINK once the Red counterattack has begun, or if the player reduces the counterattacking forces in LINK to a number lower than his own (effectively holding the OBJ).
Scoring is based on clearing OBJs LOG and LINK, holding OBJ LINK against the counterattack, and the player's remaining strength.

Desert Strike
I. Situation
Yesterday, our human intelligence indicated that there was an attack being planned on El Jibah - these claims were confirmed 12 hours ago as JSTARs confirmed the build up of heavy armor to the north, in vicinity of Al Doreen. The enemy has rallied a mixed company of T62 tanks and BMP1's for their attack on El Jibah. We have also detected a command node operating in Al Doreen that is coordinating the attack as well as a supply node somewhere near the Doreen Ridge that is caching critical supplies to sustain insurgents in the area.
We currently have an infantry section from B CO defending the north bridge into El Jibah, an have a platoon of M2s staged to the south at COP Cardinals. Additionally, the JTF commander has allocated to us a firing battery of 155mm guns, a section of MLR rockets, and a flight of AH64's to assist in our mission.
II. Mission
Defeat enemy operating in the AO
III. Execution
Tasks
1. Defend El Jibah from insurgent attacks from the north
2. Clear Al Doreen / Destroy the enemy HQ
3. Clear the Doreen Ridge / Destroy the supply node

A Time to Fight
Force Composition
2x PLT STRV-122
2x PLT CV9040B
1x SEC AMV-360
a. Enemy. Objective Lion is a critical river crossing site across the Hytee River, and serves as key terrain to continue our advance to the north.
-An enemy Mechanized Infantry Battalion, reinforced with a tank company, is defending the area surrounding OBJ LION while it prepares to continue offensive operations to the south.
-We can expect to see company battle positions with BMP-3's and dismounted infantry in defensive positions, with T-90 tank platoons supporting them from hide sites. We can also expect to encounter enemy reconnaissance forces on the eastern side of the Hytee River who are providing early warning. They are equipped with ATGM trucks and dismounted scout teams. A friendly recon patrol encountered contact near Tava last night, so we can expect them to fight for the high ground.
b. Friendly. A Swedish combat team is currently in the AO to lead our attack, with elements of a NATO battlegroup following quickly behind them. Your combat team consists of 2x platoons of STRV-122 and 2x platoons of CV9040B's with dismounted squads equipped with NLAWs. You have also been augmented with a scout section of PATGB-360s with dismounted scouts equipped with SPIKE ATGMs.
c. Civil. Expect civilians to remain neutral. However, they will protect themselves if provoked. There is a small militia that operates in the area and will quickly deploy security forces, if necessary.

I. Situation
Friendly forces are currently set to the east of Imarat, postured to attack to seize key terrain that will enable follow-on forces a swift transition through the area, along Highway 5 and Highway 2. We have detected a reinforced enemy mechanized infantry company defending the area, with BMP-3, T-90 tanks, and a truck-mounted scout platoon forward. We have detected enemy scouts operating between PL BRONZE and PL PLATINUM, with small teams and ATGM trucks, and we suspect platoon-sized disruption forces to be positioned between PL SILVER and PL BRONZE, with their main defensive force around the town of Chaman.

Operation Dragon Hunter
Operation Dragon Hunter
Combat Power
2x Leopard 2
2x DF90
4x DF30 (w/ dismounts)
2x VAMTEC (50cal) with dismounts
2x VAMTEC (TOW) with dismounts
I. Situation
In the Last 48 hours, militia fighters have moved south and occupied the Gomahalo peninsula. This holds significant value, as the Gomahalo peninsula has been declared a de-militarized zone after years of civil strife.
Intel now suspects that militia fighters have done this under the guidance of Olvana advisors operating in the area - also confirmed by friendly Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) sources that have been intercepting Olvanian military communication. The local militia is well armed - T62 tanks and BMP1's with trained and equipped infantry formations. Additionally, an Olvana command node is operating in the area and advising militia leaders as well as providing short range air defense (rough location is marked) to the north, near Badme.
Badme is also of significant value - the militia has historically used this village to stage operations and base themselves. Expect a prepared defense.
A Belgian task force has been quickly assembled at the Gomahalo airport, to the south. This team also include a UAV that has been placed under your tactical control.
There are still civilians in the area - avoid civilian casualties as much as possible and avoid the destruction of civilian property as much as possible.
II. Mission: Attack to defeat militia fighters in Gomahalo and Badme; destroy foreign military equipment/forces operating in the area that pose a hostile threat
III. Execution
Commanders Intent: Defeat militia forces by clearing them from the Gomahalo peninsula and the village of Badme. Prevent further Olvana influence in the area by destroying their command node
Key Tasks
1. Clear Gomahalo of militia fighters
2. Destroy the Olvana C2 Node located around Gomahalo
3. Clear Badme of enemy fighters
Fires: 4x Mortar carriers organically controled by your company
IV Service & Support: Resupply and Medical assets are organic to your company

The Smell of Cordite and Kahwes in the Morning
By El_Chacho
The Syrian Army is setting up blocking positions along the Suran-Hama Highway. One such defensive position is getting assembled near the towns of Barissa-Sarjah. To protect ENY engineers, a Company of T-72M1s plus a Company of Motorized Infantry is operating in the area. The ENY's likely course of action is to take hasty defensive positions in order to deny our forces from access and control of the Barissa-Sarjah area of operations. Due to the early stages of the defensive effort, the ENY has no indirect or air support to conduct operations in the Barissa-Sarjah area.
You are in command of Company A of a Russian Army Tactical Battalion Group. Your forces are composed of one platoon of T-72B3s and two platoons of BTR82As. Some elements of a reconnaissance platoon have recently arrived and are at your disposal. Their assets include a reconnaissance drone and one Swingblade loitering munition. A battery of 2S3 Akatsiya can provide HE, ICM and smoke indirect fire missions. 2 FASCAM missions are available from Battalion HQ.
Your mission is to control OBJ Buratino and OBJ Tarhun in order to keep the operational tempo and to create favorable conditions for follow up forces moving towards Hama via the Suran-Hama Highway.

Operation Cold Call
Task Org [Initial]
2x M1A2
2x M2A2
4x VAMTAC (M2HB)
2x Centauro
4x Light INF Squads (w/ ATGM)
4x 120mm Mortars (Piranha V)
1x CH47
1x UH60
1x Support PLT
1x FARP Section
(Additional reinforcements may arrive if available)
I. Situation
An enemy Mechanized Infantry Battalion is established in a defense around the Benmir airport. Our scouts have identified enemy recon forces operating just beyond Phase Line ALPHA, and several platoon battle positions along Phase Line BRAVO. Enemy recon patrols are extremely aggressive and our scouts were forced to retrograde, so enemy dispositions beyond the phase line BRAVO are relatively unknown but we anticipate mechanized infantry battle positions supported by tanks in a layered defense around the airfield. We also anticipate the enemy to emplace minefield obstacle belts to support their defense, as well as protection from MANPADs and artillery.
Our force is relatively small, and a piece-meal composition of scattered units across the Battalion. The Division commander is pushing an aggressive timeline for seizure of the Benmir airfield to support airlift of critical supplies into the AO. We're out of time and must attack now.
II. Mission
Attack to seize OBJ BULL to allow friendly forces to utilize additional tactical infrastructure to support future offensive operations
III. Execution
-Attack now, and attack with what you have. Additional reinforcements may arrive when or if they can.
-You have support from 2x transportation aircraft, and elements from B CO (light infantry), but beware of the SAM threat in the AO.
-Your attack will be supported with organic 120mm mortars and a battery of 155mm guns.
IV. Service & Support
-Your company is fully supplied, and is being supported by HQ resupply assets (fuel/ammo)
- A FARP has been established to the south by G CO, and can be moved at any time.
V. Command & Signal
-Friendly ID: On
-Map Contacts: Enabled
Commanders Guidance:
1. You don't have much to attack with, certainly not as much as you'd like - but sometimes thats life!
2. Do recon - locate the enemy and determine their composition - formulate your attack and don't attack blindly.
3. Take your time - Don't rush. Designate march objectives - seize terrain that you think is relevant and consolidate your forces. Rinse and Repeat.

Baghlan Blues
Force Composition
2x Patria AMV
2x T-72
3x BMP-2
SITUATION
a. Enemy. Insurgents control Muzcal and the area to the northeast of the Huwerfa Wadi. They have been increasing attacks against the regional capital, Baghlan, and have been infiltrating additional fighters and equipment into the area. They are heavily equipped with remnants of the once-existing National Army and have several T-55 tanks, M113s, and BRDM vehicles. They are also equipped with several short-range MANPADs, ZU-23 AAA, as well as several ATGM systems. They have an extensive IED network and have emplaced minefields as a vast network of protective obstacles in the area. A Human Intelligence source has indicated the presence of a forward command post as well as a logistics node in Muzcal that are coordinating and supporting enemy activity into Baghlan. We have also received information stating that a massive attack on Baghlan would be imminent, however, that information has been reported repeatedly for several weeks and is most likely false reporting.
b. Friendly. Friendly forces in the AO are part of a Finnish task force. They consist of a AFV Platoon supplemented with an IFV section and a tank section, as well as an attached scout platoon. They currently have most of their combat power positioned on the Forward Operating Base, south of Baghlan but also have a scout platoon currently stationed at the combat outpost north of Baghlan. Headquarters has allocated one engineer squad to assist with obstacle reduction for this operation. The task force also has 3x 81mm organic mortars, as well as 2x 60mm mortars organic to the scout platoon at the Combat Outpost.
MISSION: Attack to clear enemy forces from Mazcal to help improve the security posture of the region
EXECUTION.
Tasks
1. Clear enemy from Muzcal / Destroy enemy Command and Logistics nodes
2. Preserve friendly combat power for follow on Operations
3. Retain tactical infrastructure (FOB and COP)
4. Avoid civilian casualties

Predator Strike
Force Composition
3x PLT (LEO2A6)
2x PLT (CV9030DK)
1x SEC (ATTV Scout)
I. SITUATION
a. Enemy: Within the past 48 hours enemy forces have moved into staging areas along the Arkdon River with the known intent to attack across the international boundary to seize critical infrastructure and industrial objectives in Aarfeld. Intelligence estimates that in our area we are opposed by a Mechanized Infantry Battalion of BMP-3s supported by a tank company of T-72B3s. Objective Eagle is a major crossing point, and we assess the enemy to be defending with a recon element, supported by mechanized infantry. We expect no more than a platoon there, as it is a vulnerable location to observation and fire. Objectives HAWK and FALCON are staging areas, each with a company of mechanized infantry. The enemy has divided its tank force between its companies, so expect each mechanized company to be supported by tanks.
b. Friendly. Friendly forces will attack across the Arkdon River to conduct a spoiling attack against the enemy. A Danish Combat Team is formed and prepared to seize the crossing site at OBJ EAGLE. A Joint Coalition Task Force is also reinforcing the area from the south and will attack OBJ FALCON and HAWK once the crossing site is seized at OBJ EAGLE.
c. Civilian. Civilian sentiment north of the Arkdon River is unfavorable towards friendly forces. The enemy has infiltrated towns with special purpose forces to arm and provoke civilians to support an attack across the international boundary. Contact is likely in urban areas, so its best to avoid them if possible.
II. MISSION. Attack to seize OBJ EAGLE to pass friendly forces across the Arkdon River.
III EXECUTION
Tasks
1. Seize OBJ EAGLE - defend the area and prepare to pass friendly forces.
2. Preserve Combat Power for future operations
3. Avoid collateral damage to civilians/civilian infrastructure

6x 155mm Guns (180 HE / 180 SMK)

Ice Burn
Combat Power
8x Stryker Dragoon (DF30/Proxy)
4x Stryker MGS (Centauro/proxy)
4x M1A2
I. SITUATION
a. Enemy. Enemy forces are defending the area with a mechanized infantry company (BMP3) supported by a platoon of T90 tanks and a motorized recon platoon. The enemy has positioned two mechanized platoons foward, defending crossing sites at Novahorsk and Gliwek and two platoons remain near the town of Bojnik. We expect to see motor recon units conducing roving patrols on the flanks and near the Anizu hills, to provide coverage between the disruption forces and the main body in Bojnik. We expect to see tanks supporting the main defense at Bojnik, however, they may reinforce a crossing site if necessary.
b. Friendly. Friendly forces consist of a Stryker Recon Troop supported by a platoon of tanks. Weather is keeping our aircraft grounded, so don't expect any support. The poor weather conditions are also slowing our follow-on forces, so we must seize that critical crossroads junction in Bojnik.
II. MISSION: Attack to clear enemy forces from the town of Bojnik; this will allow follow-on forces ease of movement across the road network.
III. EXECUTION
Tasks
a. Clear Bojnik (60)
b. Preseve Combat Power for follow-on operations (40)
Fires:
155mm are allocated as direct support (216 HE/216 SMK)

Day of Decision
Day of Decision
by Apocalypse
01 APR 25
0700 HRS
I. SITUATION
Once again, tensions are quickly rising along the Atropian/Donovian border. A recent border disput (yet again) has caused the Donovian National Command Authority to direct the Southern Army to re-position combat power along the Donovian/Atropian border. Combat forces from the 80th Mechanized Division are staged near the town of Badakhashon with the mission of smashing through the border to allow follow-on forces to exploit the gap into Atropia. Our forces as scattered and are slowly moving into defensive positions. Your company is on a rotation near the border - it was your last week before going home for a few weeks of R&R, but you're first and only line of defense against the Donovian wave.
Your tank company is currently staged behind Hill 474 and the Samagen Heights. You have access to Highway 4 which runs across the border and directly to Badakhashon. It is the most likely avenue in which the 80th Division will attack through. You also have a platoon of Brigade scouts set in a screen across the border. They are lightly equipped but have exceptional observation posts that will provide you with plenty of early warning.
We expect the 80th Division to attack with the 801 Mechanized Brigade as the first echelon. However, we also expect the 801st to be augmented with tanks from the 804th Tank Brigade and artillery from 805th Field Artillery Brigade. Behind the 801st will follow the 802nd and 803rd Mechanized Brigades.
II. MISSION
Defend along Highway 4 for two hours - allow friendly forces to reach defensive positions to your rear area (main battle area) and prevent the enemy from achieving decisive success along the border.
III. EXECUTION
Array your company at defensive positions to intercept the enemy that will approach along Highway 4. Brigade scouts will provide early warning to the east. However, we shouldn't expect any further assets to enter our area of operations. Hold your position for two hours to allow friendly forces to move into their defensive battle positions to our rear (west) and then be prepared to retrograde from the area.
IV. SERVICE & SUPPORT
All units are fully resupplied, and the company maintains two organic resupply vehicles as well as our medical evacuation vehicle.

Opening The Gate
Combat Power
2x PLT LEO 2A4
1x PLT Marder 1A3
I. SITUATION
a. Enemy. Enemy forces from a Mechanized Infantry Battalion (BMP-2) have established a defensive perimeter around the city of Stadthagen. In our sector, we have a mechanized infantry company supported by T-72 tanks in a defensive position which has a kill zone overlooking a critical portion of Highway 65. We also expect to see a scout platoon in a screen along the enemy's western flank.
b. Friendly. Our parent Battalion will conduct an attack on Stadthagen, and your Company is first in the order of attack. It is critical to destroy the enemy armor north of Highway 65, or it will stall this entire attack. You have 90 minutes to complete this attack or the entire brigade will be thrown off of its timeline.
II. MISSION. Attack to clear the enemy position between Phase Line Betty and Phase Line Carol no later than H+90 minutes to allow friendly forces passage along Highway 65.
III. EXECUTION
Key Tasks
1. Clear the enemy position north of Highway 65

3. Prevent unnecessary destruction of civilian property
