  5. JUMPING JACK, Kingston, Ontario, Canada

    This is my first publich scenario. Situated in a Canadian/finish/northern Sweden like environment, in a mix of closed and canalized terrain with some farmland.
    Can be played as single (1 recon section, 2 Mekinf platoons and 2 Tk platoons, and morter and support) or multiple players.
    Tne concept is a deep Advance to contact, clean up and finally seize the objective in a industry part of city.
    Eny is a single forwarded force with heavy artillery support. Enemy is randomized and very responsive action to yours. I tried to make him proactive and tricky. Just to make it fun to replay.
    Further instructions in the briefing in the scenario.
    If maps are needed download Kingston maps.
    The Maps are build together with LEO MACDONNALD from CAN 1 armd div in the SB community.

    Be aware the mission is very difficult and very hard to achieve success in.
    The scenario has no politically or realistic intention or setup. a mix of old, new equipment, new zeeland APV, german tanks old and new russian and a bit of UK.

  6. Kampf um eine Ortschaft

    Your task is to assault an enemy strongpoint and hold it against Sowjet counter attack. The strongpoint is defended by a mixed force of inf and mot.inf. that is supplemented by arty observers and regimental arty. Enemy arty and anti-tank means provide the backbone of the defence.
    Careful reconnaissance will identify strong and weak spots of the enemy’s defence.
    The attacker has to deal with a wide and open terrain that surrounds the strongpoint, facilitating dominating fields of fire for the Sowjet defender. The attacker should select weak enemy spots for attack and utilize smoke screens during the initial assault. Identification and exploitation of the enemy’s weak spots is as fundamental for the initial assault as is utilizing the terrain during assault and later defence. Failure to identify the weak spots and not anticipating the destructive force of arty may result in total destruction of the assault force.
    Economy of force is also fundamental for winning this mission. Use maximum force during initial assault. Immediately after the initial assault, designate strog forces as reserves. Use only minimum forces for mopping up after initial assault. And remember, a strongpoint is best defended from flanking positions from outside the strongpoint. Anticipate a Sowjet counter attack any time.
    This is basically a text book mission. Despite this and although defender and attacker employ only small forces, the fighting will be though. Do not expect to successfully assault and defend the village with the first attempt.

  9. Lt Perkins, I Presume

    A Canadian Recce Troop doing a route recce to secure a bridge. This scenario is designed to be played from the crew commander's view as much as possible, especially when adopting positions of observation and when directing artillery. Minimal use is to be made of the map, and calling artillery off the map (especially full Fire For Effect) is definately Bad Form. The name of the game here is Sneak and Peek. Done correctly, it is possible to neutralize all the enemy positions and capture the bridge at NAI 0001 without losing a single vehicle or firing a single direct-fire shot. While the entire troop is provided for completeness (and for multi-player co-operative play) this is one of the few scenarios where it is acceptable to "lone wolf" - divide one of the 2-car patrols into 2 separate vehicles, hop into the crew commander's hole, and get moving! (This simulates being in the lead callsign of a troop moving by catapiller movement, more or less) It is more important to skillfully manouvre individual vehicles rather than try and micromanage the entire troop. CHANGELOG --------- V1.0 Initial Release TODO ---- Scoring is a little odd yet and needs additional tweaking. Red's orders are a little thin. DG

  10. M1A1 Platoon Attack on Reinforced Motorised Rifle Company v2.4 (4.023)

    You command a troop (Tp) of M1A1 AIM SA.  Your Tp is advancing as part of a combat team (CT) effort to clear the valley to your south as a precursor to further offensive operations by the battle group.  The CT's main effort is taking place to your east and to protect the flank of the main effort it is critical you secure the road junction and town at OBJ.  All available artillery and air support has been committed to support the CT's main effort to your east so you must secure the OBJ on your own.  A platoon of NZLAV-IMV from a coalition partner is attached to assist clear and secure the OBJ.
     
    This scenario has been specifically designed to practice careful planning, appreciation of terrain and tactical movement by sections within the troop (platoon) using overwatch techniques.  It is purposely balanced in favour of RED to be unforgiving of tactical errors and to drive these lessons home.  It is challenging but can be completed with the forces at your disposal.
     
    Lieutenant, the plan to complete the mission is up to you.

  12. Mechanized Infantry Company Team Attack at Gershausen 1987 v1.4 (4.023)

    You command Team Bravo of TF 2-5 Cav, comprised Company B, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, with a tank platoon from 3rd Battalion, 32nd Armored Regiment cross-attached. Your team has two M2A1 Infantry Fighting Vehicles in company headquarters, an M981 FISTV from 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment (1-82 FA), two platoons of four M2A1 each and a platoon of four IPM1 Abrams.  A battery of M109A3 with HE and SMOKE from 1-82 FA is available for indirect fire support.
     
    Commander 1st Cavalry Division's intent is to maintain pressure on 11th Guards Tank Division by advancing to liberate GERSHAUSEN this evening in order to use it as a jumping off point for a brigade attack on KIRCHHEIM at first light tomorrow.  Commander TF 2-5 Cav has ordered Team Bravo to clear GERSHAUSEN no later than 1900.  You will advance east of ALLENDORF and clear GERSHAUSEN of enemy by H+65.  Defend GERSHAUSEN against any counter-attacks from KIRCHHEIM while Brigade moves up in preparation for tomorrow morning's attack.
     
    Task Force and Brigade command have protested the tight time frame for the attack on GERSHAUSEN but Division insists, GERSHAUSEN will be liberated tonight!

  18. North German Plain 85 - Hameln 1 (2.640)

    Version 1.1: updated to new version of Manteuffel's map for 2.640 + scripted Blue side a bit more, so that scenario is playable from the Red side in SP + changed some T-72B to T-72M1 ... JC (from the very interesting Real & Simulated Wars-blog) had the idea to replicate a phase from the grand-tactical/operational war game North German Plain 85 in SB.

    I helped him a bit with creating the Red side of the battle.
    Up to you now to command the Blue side ...

    Soviet units are pushing into West Germany and the battle for the Fulda gap is underway.  Penetrations have been made into the hard pressed NATO defenses and Soviet units are exploiting and probing west to encircle the remaining defenders.  Your task is to utilize a platoon of Marder equipped Infantry and a platoon of Leopards to ambush a Soviet column moving toward Oberaula to buy time for the defense of Germany.
     
     
    This is my first scenario submission to Steel Beasts and any comments would be appreciated.

    The united NATO forces have formed a blockade of AFV's and it is their job to repel an attack of over 160 Russian Vehicles that are coming in waves of assaulting formations.
    It is your position to defend the free world from the communist tyranny. The Russians out number your vehicles 3:1, but with unity and good tank skills the Russian attack can be suppressed.
    This is the pinnacle of what a Russian assault could be like.
     
    Special Shout out to Matsimus/ Matsimus Gaming (on youtube) and Cobrabase for inspiring me to make maps of my own.

    It is your position to defend the free world from the communist tyranny. The Russians out number your vehicles 3:1, but with unity and good tank skills the Russian attack can be suppressed.
     
    There is a 160th SOAR airborne air assault units that may need to be utilized to destroy a 2S1 battery.
     
    This is the pinnacle of what a Russian assault could be like.

    Changes from original scenario:
     
    Italian and American forces get put under more pressure as appose to just BAOR and German forces taking the brunt of the heavy armour.
     
    Enemy 2S1 battery added that will need to be taken out.
     
    This is a buff to try and put more pressure on the player.
     
     
     
    Pls send me some feedback, as I could do with it to try and satisfy you and the community as best as possible.

    Feburary 13th 1989
     
    The first domino has fallen...

    Simple mission: Lead elements of a Soviet mechanized infantry regiment are probing through the outer defense lines of Fulda.  Whack them. 
    National Guard M-60A3s were on exercise to the south-west when hostilities broke out and the week-end warriors are scared shitless.  Use your new M1A1s utilizing the terrain to stop the enemy advance. 
    You have a platoon of mortars ready to provide indirect fire.
    Enemy consists of T-64B along with mechanized infantry. 
    No triggered ending.  Lasts approximately 25 minutes.

  24. Operation Gary Owen Version 2.

    This is a air and ground assault that is conduted by the USMC(ground forces) and the 7th Cavalery air mobile division (U.S. Army). 
     
    They will both assault a prime enemy position to form a FOB that is in an ideal position. 
     
    CH-47's, Blackhawks and Griffons will engage and assault an LZ under the cover of a arty deployed smoke screen followed by an armoured fist.
     
    One the LZ is secure the armoured ground units will attack a small village in control of the enemy. This could be done by inserting blackhawks or sending in the Bradeleys with M1A2 support.

    New Barricade added to penetrate, RED reserve forces will come and attack effectivly, BLUE forces have been balenced, look of infantry changed to relavent states.
