  2. Assault on FOB Edinburgh

    An unrealistic scenario...
     
    The Taliban have found a lost and abandoned soviet base in the mountains where they have acquired a large force of BMP's and Transports. They are going to assault FOB Edinburgh. This means that we need to take defensive positions. Repel the assualt and make a counter charge to finish off the enemy so that they have no vehicles left.
     
    Challenger 2's are not in Afghanistan, but they will be needed.

    Fulda gap from SB1, terrain map fixed and some new equipment added. Stop the enemy and you win, get overrun and you lose. Im not sure who the original authors were, but Hackworth, Volcano Man, Wahrborg and I all did some tinkering on this.

  7. Lt Perkins, I Presume

    A Canadian Recce Troop doing a route recce to secure a bridge. This scenario is designed to be played from the crew commander's view as much as possible, especially when adopting positions of observation and when directing artillery. Minimal use is to be made of the map, and calling artillery off the map (especially full Fire For Effect) is definately Bad Form. The name of the game here is Sneak and Peek. Done correctly, it is possible to neutralize all the enemy positions and capture the bridge at NAI 0001 without losing a single vehicle or firing a single direct-fire shot. While the entire troop is provided for completeness (and for multi-player co-operative play) this is one of the few scenarios where it is acceptable to "lone wolf" - divide one of the 2-car patrols into 2 separate vehicles, hop into the crew commander's hole, and get moving! (This simulates being in the lead callsign of a troop moving by catapiller movement, more or less) It is more important to skillfully manouvre individual vehicles rather than try and micromanage the entire troop.   8. The Gauntlet (3.002)

    Fictional mission taking place around 2004 between east and west.

    A salient along our southern flank exists among swampy lowlands and heavily bombed and mined roads.
    Whoever controls this salient and takes the town might tip the fight to their side. Drive the enemy force off this miserable
    strip of land and maybe we'll all go home a little sooner!

    Threats include modern Russian armor, dug in infantry, helo/arty support and a few surprises.
    You may call on Apache support if needed but I advise only in an emergency.

    Your forces include 2 platoons of the latest version of the Abrams, the M1A2 SEP. You also have been granted 2
    platoons of mech infantry, a mortar platoon and a section of M109A3s stand ready with firesupport.
    KEEP THEM ALIVE!.

    10th Mountain UH-60Ls are waiting to be called in to relieve you of babysitting the town but only if you can take it in the first place. You also have mine-clearing equipment but use it where you need it - once it's gone, it's gone.

    Oh... there are a few surprises.

  9. Operation Spartan

    This is the next mission in a campaign from Operation Yankee-Galahad.
     
    A retrieval mission of British forces rescuing a small and depleted German battle group that may soon be trapped behind enemy lines. 
    You will need to smash through enemy forces, and then rescue the Germans followed by a retreat. This mission should take 40 mins at the most. 
     
    There will be more missions following this campaign. Stay tuned for more!!

  10. Operation Gary Owen Version 2.

    This is a air and ground assault that is conduted by the USMC(ground forces) and the 7th Cavalery air mobile division (U.S. Army). 
     
    They will both assault a prime enemy position to form a FOB that is in an ideal position. 
     
    CH-47's, Blackhawks and Griffons will engage and assault an LZ under the cover of a arty deployed smoke screen followed by an armoured fist.
     
    One the LZ is secure the armoured ground units will attack a small village in control of the enemy. This could be done by inserting blackhawks or sending in the Bradeleys with M1A2 support.

    New Barricade added to penetrate, RED reserve forces will come and attack effectivly, BLUE forces have been balenced, look of infantry changed to relavent states.

    This is the third mission to the series.
     
    We see the the contact with the first bulf of the main armoured force.
     
    We have a defensive line set up near defense line Charlie, with TOW units, ITV's and FISTV's. The worst part is that there is an imminant attack...
     
    The good news however, its stopped raining.
     
    USMC will arrive however ETA unknown.
     
    1 PARA will airdrop 2 GTK Boxer Troops as a response shock force.
     
    Cobras are inbound, 3 mins ETA.

                      They also have limited ICM support but have medium HE and Smoke support.There is a minefield threat which has been marked on the map. stay out of it

    This is what it has come down too.
    The united NATO forces have formed a blockade of AFV's and it is their job to repel an attack of over 160 Russian Vehicles that are coming in waves of assaulting formations.
    It is your position to defend the free world from the communist tyranny. The Russians out number your vehicles 3:1, but with unity and good tank skills the Russian attack can be suppressed.
    This is the pinnacle of what a Russian assault could be like.
     
    Special Shout out to Matsimus/ Matsimus Gaming (on youtube) and Cobrabase for inspiring me to make maps of my own.

  16. Scouting (gone wrong)

    We have 6 M3A2's (without the infantry inside) conducting a reconissance and a counter reconissance mission to eleminate any enemy reconissance/forces.
     
    Enemy forces should only really consist of BMP3's, BDRM2's etc.
     
    To win kill most of the enemy scouts/forces and dont let them enter the red zone.
     
    FASCAM strips to help stop the enemy probing advance.

  17. Attack on Objective Orange (T-55)

    This is a company sized attack on an urban/industrial objective.  You get a platoon of T-55s, a rifle platoon in BTRs, and a scout section of technicals. Red vs Red.  Variable enemy behaviour.   
     
    I really enjoy playing with 'old tech', though it makes the game challenging.  I got smoked on my first play through and I knew the likely angles of attack.  Let me know how you do or if you think the scenario is too difficult or needs rebalancing.

    FINN MISSIONPACK V.1.0 This missionpack includes following single-player missions (version): -Bad Santa (1.0) -Elvis ringing doorbell (1.2) -Hasty attack (summer) (1.5) -Hasty attack (autumn) (1.5) -Head on attack (summer) (1.5) -Head on attack (winter) (1.5) All missions are updated after the release of the first patch. This missionpack also includes 6 theme files, that are used in the missions. The undergrowth size has been reduced a little to allow player to see enemies at the same time they are able to see him. This may not be true with infantry - it's intentional! The difficulty level may be quite high, so few tips: -try to fight where you are strong -> enemy doesn't have TI in all vehicles -> infantry is DEADLY in woods, use your own infantry to fight enemy infantry before you rush to the bushes with your Leopards! -> Find hull-down positions whenever possible -> don't stay in one place for too long after being spotted because you're most likely going to be hit with arty -> try to engage smaller enemies with full force rather than attacking everybody with only a small force -if you have artillery, use it! It'll save you from many tough situations! Also remember the power of smoke! -your ready rack is never half full - it's always half empty! -The missions have time limits, but the limits won't be too hard -> take it easy, if you don't know where the enemy is, don't go full steam ahead and hope you'll see them first -remember that your BMP's don't have missiles, if they're not described as ATGM-units! I hope you enjoy playing these missions as much as I enjoyed creating them! Please send feedback and comments etc. about these missions to the Steel Beasts forums, or directly to my e-mail. Best used with Finnish skins for blue side! (I recommend the ones made by Congo and myself - they'll match the theme files perfectly!) Also create a folder called "red" in the mods/"theme"-folders and copy the skins that you wish to be used by the red side there.   23. The Battle for Fulda South

    Greetings fellow trackheads. Well after a lot of here and there work over 2 months I've finally finished a decent first version of my best Fulda defense mission yet. Thanks to Warulf for his incredible map of Fulda. Mission would be a flop without it. You've got a little bit of everything in this mission but the freedom to move your forces as you see fit. The AI for minebreaching is not wonderful. Maybe one day it will be smarter. Should Soviet units not breach correctly I have removed password lock-out from the Soviet side for you to be able to tinker with them. REMEMBER THAT THIS WILL SPOIL MY SURPRISES SO I ONLY ADVISE THAT YOU DO THIS AS A LAST RESORT. I'm sure there are still bugs so bear with me. T Changes made: More baddies and more of a challenge. Less hang-ups in the minefields. Better scripting for smarter AI. The Soviets are more aggressive. M-88s available for recovery. This Scenario is meant for hefty machines only as frame rates on less powerful systems may make it unplayable.

    West-Germany 1986. After the catastrophe the Germans suffered in their last attack (as described in "Springing the Trap" - also included in this ZIP) the situation got from bad to worse. Lead a counter-attack by an ad-hoc company of Leopard 1s and mechanized infantry to close a critical breach in American lines. Be prepared to meet tough Soviet resistance!
