It is 2012 and due to an extreme series of events the Bill of Rights in the US Constitution has for all practical purposes been suspended. Most Americans don't even notice. Few of those that do care. There are exceptions though and the Citizens of Montana are one. When the President orders the Federalization of the Montana National Guard the Governor refuses. The Federal government issues an arrest warrant and when local FBI agents attempt to execute it they are met by Montana state troopers. This act though ends with the secession of Montana from the United States with the full consent of Montana's Citizens.
The government of the USA cannot let that stand and sends a small show of force into Montana. The force meets little resistance in the sparsely poplulated areas it passes thru but that is now about to change.
