Counter Stroke at Hunfeld 1.0.4

   (3 reviews)

About This File

Summer, 1987

Soviet forces have made an attack across the inner-German border, only to be halted within a day by fierce resistance from German units fighting for their own territory, rapidly scatterable mines, and a superior NATO air force.

NATO forces will now attempt to breach their own minefields and strike against the Warsaw Pact forces before they can regroup.

Playable vehicles for Blue include:

Marder 1A3

Leopard 2A4

Numerous supporting assets, including FIST-V (AI will not call for fire on it's own)

Blue forces are responsible for conducting their own recon, planning and executing a breach, and capturing two objectives in a limited amount of time.

It is possible for a single player to complete this mission, with the help of some scripting in the planning stage.

This the first scenario I've uploaded, so comments and feedback are welcome.

What's New in Version 1.0.2   See changelog

1. Removed some of the Blue M60A3(TTS).  Using these vehicles offensively is somewhat difficult, and perhaps when they were designed NATO anticipated fighting a defensive war rather than offensive.  Replaced these vehicles with M1IP and M1A1 that we can assume were hurriedly scraped up to be used in this counter attack.

2. Replaced some of the CO and XO APCs with tanks.  Gives the player a superior vehicle to command from (no having to worry about your dismounts) and some much needed additional firepower.

3. Removed the TTS damage from the Engineer's M60A3(TTS), they now nolonger represent RISE-Passives but standard 60A3's with mine plows.

4. Added mine plows to the CO/XO tanks to give the player some more breaching assets.

5. Changed the PW's for this mission to "A", so that now anyone who bothers to read this can modify it.

I played the mission as a single player

really enjoyed it . I found the mission quite a challange

managed to get the breach to work after reading the very helpful posts.

Had two vehicles hit mines in the breach and block it so sent my last tank

platoon through the forest on left flank.

Managed to secure first objective but lost too many tanks while trying to

manage the breech ,infantry repair vehicles etc.

Lost my four remaining tanks as I emerged from first objective.

Great mission I will have another go.

Thank you Maj Hans
