  2. Yes, this has been like that since SB1, on all vehicles. Basically, if some crew is still alive in the vehicle (usually the driver) and the user is in the gunner position after the turret crew has been killed, then you are allowed to stay in there and operate the turret. The solution here, as it has always been, should be if the crew member you are controlling is killed, you should be kicked to the F8 external view. The problem is, sometimes the external view disabled (in a scenario) so this makes it very difficult to do any sort of standard-behavior fix here.
  3. no such restriction, as it appears to us all now this is an old bug. i am a solitaire player so it generally does not bother me. if i decide to play fair i just cycle out of the gunners position. in multiplayer game it seems a bit of an unsporting exploit, though it is not extremely common. it also makes me wonder about the way a lone gunner with the crew knocked out can use the gunners eyepiece and simultaneously load projectiles at the same time as one of those kinds of issues which would be difficult to change in the code without causing something to break somewhere else

  5. Yeah last time I happened to ask about it @Volcano replied that it's known bug for long time that apparently has its roots to SB1 (if I remember correctly) and that it has something to do with a setting in mission editor where can be selected if F8 view is allowed or not. Apparently if when gunner dies there needs to be somewhere where to dump players view like F8 view. However now when I think of it Odd thing is that it does happen in multiplayer games too where there is no F8 restriction (though maybe actual scenario does while it's not applicable to MP) perhaps you could check if there was such restriction on your scenario?
  6. i have a hunch i had seen this with the m1a1 going all the way back.

  8. This happens in many of the vehicles.
  9. But that won't bring over his "personal" stuff from the old PC, assuming he wants to.
  10. i have seen this for quite some time with a playable t-72, and i am not sure if i recall it occurring in any playable SB vehicle. i never bother taking a screenshot because i assumed i could reproduce it in the mission editor when i got around to reporting it. if the user is in the gunner's position, and the t-72 is damaged in the action phase such that both the TC and the gunner are both knocked out, the player in the gunner's position can still operate the gunner's position until the player switches position (i.e., changes to an external F8 view or to the driver's view or to a new unit) - then the damaged crew position is no longer accessible. the strange bit about this is that it apparently cannot be easily reproduced in the mission editor, that is, if you set up a condition so that both the gunner and TC are damaged at a specified runtime, the player is kicked out of the gunner's position to the external view as you would expect. it only seems to be possible when hit by fire or something like that, you cannot script the behavior for testing purposes. you have to get lucky to reproduce the behavior, which is not particularly easy
  11. First, download and install the latest version of the CodeMeter runtime software, 8.0a: https://www.wibu.com/us/support/user/downloads-user-software.html You can then either run the installer for version 4.268, it's still available on the eSim Games Downloads page (https://www.esimgames.com/downloads/ (scroll down a bit)). Or, you install version 4.3 (same page, just further up), but then you'd need to visit the web shop for the "4.3 Upgrade from 4.1" option: https://www.esimgames.com/3165-2/ In any case, after the installation, just plug in the CodeMeter stick and you're basically good to go.

  13. I'd suggest you do a clean install on the new machine, then: 1. Copy over any map packages you have downloaded (from memory 4.268 is after the map packages came in). 2. Copy over the contents of "C:\Users\username\Documents\eSim Games" to get your mods, AARs, downloaded scenarios, etc. 3. Copy over the contents of "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\eSim Games\Steel Beasts" to get your options, player records, etc.
  14. Question, just bought a new pc. I have SB ver 4.268 with a dongle stick. What would be the best way to move the game to my new pc. Thanks
  15. Eh, having multiple entries for the same bug isn't such an exceptional thing. It's not the norm either (and five reports are, yes, an extreme example) - but it happens. To me, it's an indication that the bug manifests reliably, but also rarely enough that certain conditions must be met at the same time, or else we'd see it in every single mission.
  16. Wait a sec. I do see it. I just didn't look hard enough. It's program data not program files. It's like trying to find something in the refrigerator.
  17. Just to give an Idea what Gremlin looks like and how it works. The image is an example of my profile if I use my xbox 360 controller as an input for SB 1 the XBOX 360 Controller is the physical device that is used 2 the Vjoy is a virtual device that is the one that gets selected in SB 3 the physical x axis of the ministick is mapped to the virtual x axis of the vJoy device 4 that allows me now to apply multiple things to the axis that is used by SB, one of them is using a response curve in my case I flatten it around the center so it is possible to have finer adjusted inputs on slow turret movements and accelerate toward the end of the phyisical movement where fine inputs are not as much needed Another benefit is that I can assing multiple functions to my xbox 360 buttons and triggers and basically control every part of the tank depending on the current view position without even having the need for a keyboard
  18. My install does not seem to have the file path indicated in the options, is that even possible? I tried viewing hidden items in Windows Explorer and still didn't see the path. I tried making the path and putting Blauheim under packages, but SB didn't see them. My path looks like: C:\Program Files\eSim Games\SB Pro PE But I don't see a "maps" or "packages" folder.
  19. I highly recommend trying it with a joystick in any case. To me it feels much more like the real deal. The control over the turret is amazing.
  20. You can use joystick gremlin as a software between joystick and SB. JoystickGremlin is the tool in the flightsim community to apply curves to joystick axis or remap functions that a simgame would not offer itself I personally use it with SB to remap 3 input devices joystick ganepad and button box to a single virtual device seen and used by SB
  21. There’s been a few such cases recently, I suspect it’s a failure of the forum and not intentional spamming.
  22. Spamming like this isn't going to get you an answer any quicker.
