  1. Big Box Collection, that is... what? I can't be the only one here who has at least a small collection. Mine is mostly flight sims but there are some tank titles... no 80s stuff, as I started PC gaming in the 90s. My first ever tank sim was iM1A2 Abrams and I still love it to this day (to the point that I created the Wikipedia article for it a few years ago) and I still fire it up every now and then, mostly to pretend I'm still young. It's probably the most playable out of the bunch here, even with its flaws. I think growing up with its solid right-click menu system is one of the reasons why I enjoy SB so much. Panzer Commander and Spearhead are still sealed: Next shelf down... iF-16 and iF/A-18E are still sealed. Random P4s laying around. Some Janes stuff: Feel free to post yours... I'd like to see some 80s stuff in particular.

  3. Hi been playing the Luchs a fair bit as I'm working on a mission based around it. I've noticed the wiki page mentions the gun is stabilized and when the ai is gunning I've seen the ai keep the gun on target while moving but I cant seem to find how it works. I've tried both keys that seem related that came up when searching the binds. Is it something I need to hold like the commander peri in the t55?

  4. An early Danish Army Leopard 1A3 Gunner trainer/simulator turret placed in a standard turret maintenance platform. It has been set up with a PC running Steel Beasts Pro PE, with a screen at the Gunner’s station, and using the real existing Leo 1A5 Gunner Grip as the controller. I wish that it was mine, but it is a part of the collection of The Guard Hussar Regiment Veteran Armor and Vehicles Union www.ghrvpk.dk The turret was placed in Nymindegab and was slated to be scrapped, but was instead donated to the GHRVPK collection. It is now used for letting kids of all ages, including me, trying out aspects of the Leopard 1A5, at open houses and other events. It has become my enjoyable job to handle this. I am currently working on some controller layout and instruction pictures and intend to create a history plaquette for it also. I also have Steel Beasts Pro PE at home. My first post here. Have a nice weekend

  9. ...and why IFVs like the CV90/35 are nowhere the same as a BMP-1; it's made to accommodate taller soldiers, today's EU workplace safety regulations are radically different from 1960s Soviet Union standards, and you want thicker armor. So the internal volume is substantially larger, the armor is thicker, the gun heavier, and we're already in the mass range that used to be reserved for 1960s MBTs. Well, that gun approaches 1960s 90mm AP shot performance as well, in all fairness. Crazy, if you think about it.

  13. We have gotten a new PC with Windows 10 for the sim and eSim Games have kindly donated an upgrade to SB Pro PE, so now we are running with version 4.265. We hit a couple of snags on the way, but now we are fully up and running with all 4 screens. I intended to use Windows 8.1 but that is not supported by the new CPU, so I had to upgrade to Windows 10. Bummer! Win 10 is not seeing the grip! It still works in Win 8.1. Hmmm. I contacted AFVSim, that did the USB conversion of the grip about drivers for Win 10. Since the old interface PCB used is not supported by Win 10, AFVSim chose to send a new interface PCB that was swapped with help from one of our EMEC guys. I had some trouble with cloning one of the screens but a swap from VGA to DVI cable solved that. (SB multiple screens tut. in the works) I am working on some guides for our guests, so I wont have to repeat all of the jazz each time. The first Danish one And a WIP UK version It is great to be fully up and running. We have also had our first guests trying it. At first the kids where hesitant and only the dad was itching for a go. In the end both kids and both parents got a ride and they all enjoyed it. I have to give my heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to eSim Games and AFVSim for helping us with giving joy and pleasure to our guests. Happy Simming
