  1. Had some time as of late. Made a map. Played around with how to arrange textures to give it a bit more immersive feel. Lots of small little villages, an attempt at a city, some rail yards, an airport, and lots of farms. I called it SE Poland, no real reason. Looks a little like it from Google Earth. Some areas are easy to defend, until they are not. Great for very dynamic missions that require the proper use of infantry units in small towns and tree lines. There are lots of elements and arrangements of elements and textures that are experimental and not consistent throughout the map.   2. Looks Like we have details of the Challenger 1 Fire control system. We can expect a well modeled crewable Challenger 1 any day now .. I will have my CC at the ready.

  5. Hi guys Is there a way to copy paste elements in the map editor? Example. Here is a nice little farm I made. Takes about 20 mins or so. Is there a way to copy the elements and textures, (something like the second image), to then paste somewhere else on the map to streamline the process? If this isn't a feature, I would make great use of it for highly detailed maps if it was introduced into a future update. BTW if there is a way to export the texture file I am using here I would gladly share it with whomever wants it.
  6. IIRC a there is a story out there that a single M1 (1980), was acquired by the USSR in the mid to late 1980s, via a situation that involved a mechanical breakdown, a rail car which was poorly guarded and some brazen GDR types acting on impulse and chance.
  7. The armor package of the M1A1 pre HA is a bit tricky to figure out. The stated protection in RHA terms is about 400mm against KE, from 25-30 deg offset. There are so many assumptions currently. If it is an evolution of the armor on the M1, then we can assume that it in part uses a spaced NERA array. The addition of "high-density" KE backpacks suggests a ceramic array, were part of the improvements. The 400mm vs KE RHA "might" (more assumptions) come from testing the M833 APFSDS against the array. Or a juice up M774 to represent a 115mm DU around fired faster. Both pen in the ballpark of 400mm RHA at near vertical. What we ALSO do know is that these monoblock DU rounds were much better against complex armory arrays then even the WU versions of the same rounds. The M833 APFSDS is very similar in dimensions to the BM-42. While the BM-42 uses a complex design, it did not outperform the shorter stubbier DU BM-32 against some complex armor arrays. So "IF the reference round for the M1 protection was the M833 APFSDS, and "IF" the armor array of the M1A1 (1985) is in part a complex spaced array. Then the M1A1 would probably be protected across the turret front against a BM-42. If the armor was tested against a WU test round with 400mm of pen, then a BM-42 probably would be enough at most ranges the 125mm is expected to hit at. A bit of a moot point as there were very few if any BM-42s in service with the USSR until 1988-1990.

  11. They are? I mean the Challenger 2 is, Chieftain Mk 5, and vanilla T-62.... So kinda sorta I would be fine with the AI to start. The the Challenger 1 and Chieftain Mk11 as they use similar fire control at the level of the Challenger 2 would be fine with me also. Squinting harder until then.

  13. I have used the editor, I posted some pictures of my map work before. As my response above if I am not able to use the newer textures in a custom theme then that is fine. That is where I am getting hung up mostly. Again, I am not making demands of anyone. If no one has time or ability that is okay. Just trying to use what little time I have to make a few maps for everyone...
  14. Did you read what I requested? I am trying to combine fall and woodland textures which I managed to do but include some of the newer textures, which currently at least to me doesn't seem possible, which is why I made the request. If the newer textures are not available that is fine. I don't need a lecture on time management or reading the manual. A simple this is not possible at this time works.
  15. I think I went out of my way to ask politely; I am fine if the answer is no. There is a whole section related to "map requests" after all. Do you normally respond to such requests of long-time paying customers with this attitude?

  17. Okay. Maybe it will be easier to request a new terrain theme? What I had in mind was Use the base ESim_ European Woodland High Vis woods Spring Replace field B, C, D, and Sand With Add The Wheat field from the new Ukrainian maps. Add Dry from the ESim European Woodland High Vis woods Summer Add Grass from European Woodland High Vis woods Fall Add Scrub from European Woodland High Vis woods Fall Call It "grassland" or whatever Is this a big ask? Anyhow if anyone could create this for me it would be appreciated.
  18. Thanks Is there a way to mix fall themes and spring. Ie there are elements in a theme for the Hi Res Woodland Spring and Fall I would like to combine together for a theme.
  19. Looks like we have some new themes made up of new textures and buildings that come with the Ukraine focused maps. Is there a way we can use these with our map editor? Thanks
