  1. Yes. I meant to tell you that. Its Windows XP. Sorry.
  2. Well Ssnake you knew it was coming. Installed the Upgrade but now I can't start SBPro PE. I get the following message: "d3dx9_31.dll not found." I've tried installing multiple times, still get the same message. Thanks for your help.
  3. I've noticed one anomoly that occurs with the Leo 2A4 turret damage model. It seems that I get a "main turret" damage result with a first round hit way too often which essentially puts the tank out of commission. I remember from SB that the Leo turret was capable of absorbing a lot more damage before being put completely out of commission ie first stabilization, then the GPS, then the TIS, then the hydraulics etc. I can't speak for the the M1 or the other other Leo variants because I usuallly don't play those.
  4. This from the country that brought civilization to about half the planet. It's just hard to believe.
  5. What is the matter with you guys? :eek2: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/24/world/europe/24crete.html?_r=1&em&oref=slogin
  6. Actually, I've noticed that it is very hard to get the infantry missile team to fire the TOW at close range. You can order them to fire but nothing happens. However, you may have a point with the M-2. At close range the TOW essentially becomes an unguided RPG.
  7. Stunning photography. Thanks for sharing this.
  8. One sick puppy and I'm not talking about the dog.
  9. I know I've wasted several 100s of millions of virtual dollars playing steelbeasts.
  10. That's the story with just about all military hardware. Low production volume with no chance of achieving economies of scale. The F-22 is a good case in point with each plane running at $100 million + each. And the cost of spare parts can be enormous. I used to work for a manufacturer that was the sole source of spares for the mechanical cockpit instrumention for the C-130 - before they were all retrofitted with the glass cockpit. The parts were sold at catalog with the price being marked up an additional 15% to 50% every year.
  11. How about just stationary vehicles? Like the ones parked or abandoned on the side of the street or even blocking the street. Think of them as obstacles that would have to be towed or pushed to the side. I could envision a scenario where NATO/Warsaw pact would have to deal with the thousand of car blocking the autobahn. Would, I think add to the realism.
  12. So where is it? I've already downloaded a played a few times your original scenario. I was going to give you a review but will wait till I see your update.
  13. How easy was it to the set up the river crossing for opfor? Did your units perform as instructed? I noticed the first tank to cross even had its turret traversed to the rear. Just wondering because I can imagine a big pile up at the crossing point with several vehicles ending up in the drink as the AI is wont to do.
  14. Pretty cool screenshots. Are the explosions from the game or did you embellish? Too bad we can't have full night mod effects since the AI can still see as if its broad daylight.
  15. I seem to recall Ssnake meantioning that the shot bars (or whatever you call them) are off a little. So, the actual trajectory may be a little left of the tree. Ditto for the M-1.
  16. Amen to all you guys. This screenshot was actually from the Red Decision Point scenario and it happens all the time. Whenever I check red's final position in the AAR, a substantial number of vehicles are either stuck on an embankment or have drowned in an impassable river.
  17. Well, I didn't create this. This is a case of the red AI attempting to cross an unfordable river. Like lemmings heading over the cliff. This happens quite frequently. I think the AI logic needs to be tweaked. This never happened in SB1. Sort of screws up a scenario if half of the redfor never make it to the engagement area.
