  1. so the map installer you are referring to is at the top of this page: https://www.esimgames.com/?page_id=1607

the 10 files Maps Installer Part 1A - Maps Installer Executable

I believe the message "insert disk 1" means that one or more of the files did not download correctly.

  2. I believe the part of the wiki info on License Sharing that says: "if they own more than one license" is not detailed enough.

if I have one license on the dongle, one person can borrow it to play SB but, I can't also have SB running because that would use the one license and, there would be none for my friend to borrow.

  3. did you install the CodeMeter User Runtime software?

6.40a is the latest version. the first download in the list on this page: https://www.wibu.com/us/downloads-user-software.html

and did you install DirectX 9 on your new laptop? SB Pro PE requires DirectX 9.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429

with the CodeMeter software installed, and the dongle plugged in, you can open the CodeMeter WebAdmin and click on the License Monitoring tab and it will show you the SB license versions installed on the dongle.

The Flare Path: A Typical Atypical Simmer #2

The man currently sipping a Koskenkorva and consulting his cue cards in the U/S Williams X-Jet The Flare Path uses as a dais is Ilja ‘Zipuli’ Varha. Our second ‘atypical simmer‘, Ilja has very kindly agreed to talk about his journey from juvenile M1 Tank Platoon fan to 33-year-old brigade simulator officer in the Finnish Defence Forces. Whether your polygonal battle wagon of preference is a Steel Beasts Leo, a Steel Fury T-34 or a World of Tanks Tiger, the following paragraphs should prove interesting.

  5. Sean also mentioned this solution earlier in the thread.

I think this is the cause of your problem:

    http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/showthread.php?t=20033

    Ssnake:

    d) You want to activate a single upgrade license and get an error message about an "unsatisfied constraint" with error code 0x18080003

You probably have a first generation CodeMeter stick from a purchase made in 2006 or 2007.

    http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/showpost.php?p=248836&postcount=56

    Ssnake:

A license for SB Pro 2.4, 2.5, or 2.6 is required to upgrade to version 3.0 (otherwise an upgrade ticket cannot be activated).

if you have never purchased an upgrade for SB Pro PE you can't add the 3.0 license to your Codemeter dongle.

this can be fixed, Ssnake will have to help you.

  6. Volcano made this demo mission, that you can play in the mission editor, to see this in action.

    Infantry mount/dismount DEMO (3.002)

    http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads/p13_sectionid/258/p13_fileid/2544

    Volcano:

Description: This scenario demonstrates the new mount/dismount behavior of infantry, and how to get infantry to do just about anything you want them to do in regards to mounting, dismounting, and moving along routes with and without their parent PCs.

All you need to do is run the demo and watch in test mode (time acceleration is probably good), then if you see them do some behavior you like just evaluate the condition and settings on their routes and duplicate that in your scenario.

  7. I was trying to help StrykerPSG figure out why he was receiving an error message when trying to play 3.002-3.011.

I see in the thread about 3.002 performance, with various video cards, that there was at least one other person using an Nvidia GTX 675M video card in their laptop.

I thought if that person reads this post they might be able to help StrykerPSG diagnose his problem?

  8. that was DirectX 9.0c, not DX 11.

you will be able to verify that it installed correctly when you start SB the first time.

on my Windows 7 computer I can browse to the C:\Windows\System32 folder and scroll down to find the DX9 files that were installed.

you can run DXDIAG to check the version of DX, but it will only indicate the newest version you have, DirectX 11, and won't say anything about the fact that you also have DX 9 installed.

  9. in my post #7 I linked to 2 possible downloads of DirectX 9.0c.

did you use the second one, which is the "full" version? extract the files to a folder and then go to that folder and click on DXSETUP to install it?

I ask this because your Log file says: "Install the DirectX SDK to get the full reference device."

that second version of DirectX 9.0c, that I linked to, is the SDK version.

  10. I had an Alienware laptop.

it had both an integrated onboard video chip + a real Nvidia video card.

your laptop has the same setup.

your problem could be caused by SB trying to run on the onboard video chip when you really need it to run on your NVIDIA Geforce GTX 675M.

this video shows you how to set SB so that it uses the Geforce GTX 675M.

the SB .exe is in the eSim Games\SB Pro PE\Release folder. it is named SBProPEcm

    DzGugS05wo0

to save energy, laptops run on the integrated video chip. you can set SB to use the GTX 675M in the Nvidia Control Panel for your video card drivers.

Nvidia has named this functionality - Nvidia Optimus Technology.

  11. the system requirements have increased for SB3.002. it requires a better video card than previous versions, in that a card with Shader 3.0 support is needed.

in this post "Quagmire" is having the same problem as you, with 3.002:

    http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/showthread.php?t=19642

at the bottom of the first page of that post you can see "Quagmire's" log file which reports his problem is most likely caused by the video card in his laptop.

it would be helpful to know what video card you have?

SB creates a log file that might contain information about the cause of the problem. depending on the version of Windows you are using it is in a folder in your Documents or My Documents folder.

    My Documents>\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\logs

    or with Windows 7: \Documents\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\logs

  12. reinstalling DirectX 9.0c will fix the problem.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

on that page click on Download, No Thanks and Continue on the next page, and then Run.

for me that web installer version didn't work. I downloaded the "redistributable" version of DirectX 9.0c here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

download the file, click on it, and extract the contents to a folder of your choice.

go to that folder and click on the DXSETUP icon to install it.
