  1. thanks for the help, everyone. I was confused about damage set in the editor, and actual damage suffered in battle. the password protected Tutorial/Support mission named M88A2 Vehicle Recovery, included with SB, does not work correctly. you tow a Leopard 1 to a repair zone to repair the left track, but it never gets fixed, and the mission times out. maybe someone could fix it?
  2. in the mission editor I place a tank with a "Damaged" left track. if I pull an M113 repair vehicle next to it, and switch to the tank, Repair is flashing, but the track never gets fixed. the Damage indicator reads "Left Track - XX"

  8. the DirectX 9.0c installer comes in 2 versions. I recommended the dxwebsetup.exe because, if it had worked, it is the easiest version for you to install. it didn't work so I will point you to the download of the 2nd version of the installer, which requires you to download the complete files for the installation of DirectX 9.0c. this is the page: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3897 save the file directx_june2007_redist.exe to your hard drive. go to your My Documents folder and create a new folder. the file directx_june2007_redist.exe is a cabinet self-extracting file. once downloaded click on the icon and it will ask you where you want to extract the files to. Browse to the new folder you just created in My Documents and click on OK. the DirectX 9.0c installation files will be extracted to the new folder in My Documents. in that new folder click on the DXSETUP icon, and it will be installed.
  9. you need to install DirectX 9.0c. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429 when asked: do you want to Run or Save dxwebsetup.exe, choose Run.
  10. the .exe to start SB is in the folder named Release - SBProPEcm is the .exe
  11. when you click on part 1 of the 4 files you downloaded it unpacks the installation files to a folder of your choice on your hard drive. you then navigate to that folder and you should find 3 files in it. setup, setup-1.bin, and setup-2.bin click on setup and the SB Pro PE 3.002 installation process will begin. your post says: "The dialogue box shows all four parts extracting and installing." when you click on part 1 it extracts the installation files, but it doesn't install SB.

  13. sorry, I forgot to mention that Program Data is a hidden folder.
  14. as explained in the Release Notes, either: run SB 3.0 as the computer's administrator, or change the security properties of the C:\ProgramData\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\maps folder so that normal user accounts have write access to it and its subdirectories. both of those fixes can be done after installation.
  15. page 2 of the SB 3.0 release notes, under Installation, has the answer: http://www.esimgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/SBProPE_3_Release_Notes.pdf
  16. when you begin the installation of SB Pro PE, the third screen of the installer has this information: this is the only indication that you will see that you need to install DirectX 9.0c. it is required if you want to play SB Pro PE!
  17. SB Pro PE requires DirectX 9.0c, your windows 8 computer does not have it, so you should install it. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
  18. de is Germany. with the 2 mod files in the de folder, I placed a Leopardo 2E in the mission editor, and chose DE as the Camouflage scheme. the German skin was on the tank.

  21. a PCIe 3.0 video card will fit and work on your motherboard, although it won't transfer data at the 3.0 speed. a PCIe 3.0 video card is backwards compatible with a 2.0 motherboard. GTS 450 and GT 630 are kind of low end video cards for your computer, which otherwise has very good components.
