  1. Have you tried this work-around/mod?
  2. That could be it.. Maybe do workarounds on the code? I am spitballing here, since my understanding in programming is barely at "hello world" level.
  3. These are the tests I made with the file you gave me. It could be an nvidia/amd type. Have you tried the async alternative? Is the anti-aliasing enabled?
  4. Can you share a screenshot of the tree and which scenario/map did you use? To see if it happens on my end too. And as for the rest, I think only Ssnake can answer that. But it is definitely something I wish it could happen.
  5. I found great satisfaction seeing that suspension on vehicles work like that. Now it makes me wish we could tax our systems more by enabling more shadows
  6. I like the helicopter blur and the UI stretching like this! I like these videos
  7. What graphics card are you using? Thank you! I will add this to the main thread for those who are facing the same problem. I tested it myself and it seemed to work, no loss of frames either.
  8. Damn, it must be something else then. I am clueless! I wasn't expecting it to work this well either! I expected a few minutes of gameplay at most and an instant crash, which would have made this unviable. But nope! Very stable(So far! I hope I don't jinx it! haha)
  9. For me, Reshade makes the sim crash and refuses to accept ultra-wide screen resolutions. I just tried an instant action at random, and it loaded. What mission are you trying? So I can try on my end and see if it gets stuck too.
  10. hahaha this is a good one! "We promise tanks made with best premium cheap Stalinium steel that makes russian bears proud!"
  11. Downloading this modified d3d9.dll will increase the frames considerably. Almost double to double the frames of what you are currently getting. The downsides? So far, I found none. But there could be something. Like being unstable and causing a random crash here or there, which eSim won't be able to help. If that happens, try replicating the same steps you did that caused the crash on Vulkan on the DX9 default file and see if it happens too. Thanks to Mezentius for the DXVK-Async suggestion, test and the DXVK.conf file. INSTALL: Go here https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases OR https://github.com/Sporif/dxvk-async (Try this if the first one doesn't work for you, the extra steps for this one are highlighted in red. If you choose the first, you don't need to follow the steps in red) Click and download dxvk-1.10.1.tar.gz (depending when you read this, the version will change to a higher, and could work) Go below on this post and download the "dxvk.conf" file if you chose the DXVK-ASYNC method. Open the file with any decompressing program (WinRar, 7zip et al) go to DXVK\x64 folder and drag/decompress the only dll you will use "d3d9.dll" (And "dxgi.dll" for the DXVK-ASYNC) Place the "d3d9.dll" into your ...\eSim Games\SB Pro PE\Release folder (the "dxgi.dll" and the dxvk.conf that can be downloaded below in case you are using the DXVK-ASYNC) Done, now run the simulator and enjoy high frames. To uninstall just go to ...\eSim Games\SB Pro PE\Release and delete only the d3d9.dll file. (and DXGI.DLL if you are using DXVK-ASYNC version) As a bonus, this also allows you to use Reshade. I will update this post based on what I find while trying this longer. My specs are 1080ti, 32GB Ram, Intel Core i7 9700K at 4.7, maxed everything on Steel Beasts graphics settings. These are my findings on the quick test I did, I am copying it from the thread, and I will be honest, the results are very promising. Screenshots with DXVK applied: dxvk.conf
  12. With that being said, with the short time I had I gave this little utility a go on Steel Beasts a go for a little while to see if it would run, and it does! https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk DX9 to Vulkan. I haven't tested it completely, to see if there are any discrepancies or crashes, but it seemed to be ok! I need to confirm if there were any fps gains. But I did notice that now I can use reshade with it(I couldn't before, SB would crash and refuse to run on the resolution I wanted) . EDIT: Quick tests with the benchmark scenario. Vulkan: Rarely dipped below 60 FPS, mostly stayed at 65 FPS. Only dipped sub 30 FPS( At 27 and thereabouts) when inside the heavy smoke, and artillery area. Outside of that, 45 and 55 only when it was switching or unstable frames, which means, less than a second. DX9(Default): Below 30 from the moment I opened into the M60. It hovers around 25 to 30 FPS, rarely over 33 FPS. Inside the artillery and smoke part, it reached 10 to 15 FPS(and danced around those numbers). This replacement DX9 to Vulkan really made the frames go high! I will be making a thread about this later when I have more time. EDIT2: Thread made, with instructions on how to install it:
  13. You are right, it was the wibbly wobbly part :P. I assumed the concept or the process to replicate the heat shimmering or heat blur would be relatively similar(with different calculations to replicate water waves) for water. Since it is a transparent shader that could be laid on top of the water texture. But that is just me spitballing since this is way above my very basic understanding of things like this. Oh, and what directx version is it going to be(if it is possible to know it this soon)? I hope we can say goodbye to DX9 and get some more frames.
  14. Oh! Nice, does that mean we get better looking water?
  15. That icon reminds me of the bowtie of a tuxedo... In fact, is there a party around?! Ha!
  16. annnnddd bought!! Costed a pretty penny at US$45.55(conversion rate) but got it! Now, to "try" to wait patiently.
  17. T-90 developed sentience and is now "h4x0r" to win? 😝
  18. How much for a license upgrade from 4.2 to 4.3? I need to see how my finances are to calculate the impact(conversion rate, which is a b***, and taxes on the conversion + tax for international purchase) heh! I have been a faithful client of esimgames since 2007 and bought them all as soon as they came(or when I could afford). So not going to start now in skipping versions hahaha
  19. Absolutely correct! Boom-booms are good! I am a simple man. I see boom, I like! The mouse I use Logitech G502 Hero glides on it, and the sensor becomes very precise. I have been doing art, editing things, and in the previous mats I used, the sensor would jump a pixel here or there. And the previous mat had a few patches where it was worn down(very soft rubbery material) and lost the shimmery look, would slow down the mouse on those regions and feel heavier. First time I experience a mat like this, and I love it. You chose well! Thank you again!!!
  20. I just received mine, and I am giddy! The quality of the mouse mat is incredible. The only sad thing is the tip on the lower left corner of the mat came chipped. I assume it is due to the very questionable quality of the local mail in my country(including customs. They have a tendency of throwing stuff, leaving them under rain, sun, et al). No matter, solved it with super glue. It also comes with a letter, and Nils autograph(hahaha). Suffice to say, I am looking forward to the 4.3! EDIT: I have been using it since then and it is sooooo smooth! So much better than the previous one I had. Now I feel I can be more precise on my gunnery skills! Thank you eSim Games and Nils. You made my month! A mouse mat worthy of eSim in quality. Very good! EDIT2: So excited I forgot to say thank you. THANK YOU!
  21. Since we will never be able to get a dynamic campaign a la m1 tank platoon ii or Steel Armor, I wish we could, at least, get something like Panzer Elite type of campaigns. You know, with upgrading the crew, the tank, refuel, repair. Stuff like that. Edit: And Dx11/12 or Vulkan. I want to crank those graphics to the max! Haha
  22. I'm enjoying the new sounds(maybe it is new? I don't remember, haven't played SB for a while) for the tank guns. The closets tank sounds way more powerful than the one that is further from you. I love it! I especially like the attention to detail in regards to sound delay.
  23. Oh, hey!! We have the same CPU gen! Mine is an i7 960 3.2GHz.
  24. The lighting is amazing, after getting killed by a rocket, I decided to look at the events... Maybe now, we can get a helicopter sim as well, using the same engine, on the same executable with an Integrated Battle Spac...ermm System! Especially because of how great the trees + terrain looks now. Would be awesome having a large map, with a "dynamic" campaign-esque where both sides fight each other in multiplayer. Kinda like, some of the servers you find in DCS.
