  3. New version of this mission uploaded to site. Version 1.2 is the same mission with some minor adjustments. Also an option to ask United Nations MI-8 helo's in the area to perform extraction. New Mission Briefing for Version 1.2 included. Enjoy.
  4. Thanks. I missed that. Wanted to prevent an airstrike before rescue attempt. I took it out of Version 1.2 as you have recommended. After a multiplayer playtest this afternoon and everything goes well with the scripting. The new version will be posted today. Found an easy way to clear out one of the enemies observation points. Will just say the ammo expended is quite pricey but very effective and satisfying.
  5. Thanks for the feed back. These COIN settings are quite a challenge to set up. The UN helos are scripted using spawn and drain points. If scripting worked they should have been in area. However, it depends on your position. Its possible you may have been out of LOS at the times they crossed through. The UH60 scripting to Evac the girl was quite the learning curve.   8. Had a similar issue. Mine was a bad RAM chip. Was Very elusive to find. As the crashes were not always consistent and exclusive to Steel Beast. Would cause crashes when attempting to host MP, But would be fine in single player or editor test. Once I pulled the suspected RAM chipset out, problem went away.
  9. Don't mind the feedback I asked for. Just disagree about the your feedback about the tanks. Most of the rest is excellent feedback. During play testing the tanks were taken out quickly by support arriving from off map. This may have not happened in your play through. Maybe killed before they arrived? Thus not solving the riddle. Pre position LAV's over watching suspected ambush site. Send Infantry to investigate area. They should easily spot enemy ambush. LAV's light em up... On their terms. Riddle solved. Enj
  10. Tanks are not effecting balance, not that I entertained game balance in any mission I have designed. Care more about the tactical riddle versus "Game" balance. I really don't see a problem with the appearance of the tanks. LAV's don't have a chance against them for sure. So what do you do? In this scenario if the tanks are not being dispatch quickly then your not doing it right. You would know that if scenario was played to conclusion.
  11. Thank you for the feedback. The wired obstacle in front of the FOB had to be placed to deter AI drivers from entering into FOB. For some reason AI drivers would enter into complex, play bumper cars and get trapped. Same thing would occur when routed around FOB. The trailing AI drivers would try and catch up to the lead by staying on road which enters FOB maze of walls. Same thing was happening to vehicles with stay orders near this FOB. They would not "stay" and find a way into FOB to become trapped. The wire was/is to give incentive to the AI to go

  15. Nice find on that article. The M1 in this mission does help a lot when T72's pin down the M60's
  16. My thought was that the M60 units were beginning to transition to M1 tanks. CO was training with an M1 crew at the time the battle starts. I admit I do not have knowledge of how M60 units transitioned to M1 tanks in US. but this is the general idea why I included the M1 tank. I did notice in multi player. It was far easier to lead the M60 platoon formations. Everyone could clearly see M1's position.

  20. Thanks for posting thids issue. I Am experiencing a similar problem on some of my missions. While in Mission editor I cant enter view mode from map. Mission will not test. Nor load in offline mode. was trying to update an older version mission to 4.04. Have not found the consistent variable that causes this issue as of yet. I think the problem described above. Wanted to report it though. {PROBLEM SOLVED} program was trying to search for TrackIR which was not plugged in. In steel beast control. Set TrackIR to none. Edited just now by ChanceBS
