  1. Really enjoyed the few minutes I lasted before I strayed just a little too close the minefield before it was breached. Marco tried to follow a truck through the breach but got blown up. We now understand that the right way to get through a breach is to plot a route from one end to the other and let the AI drive. We didn't know that. And may I make a request on behalf of all noobies? If the 'in game' callsigns are going to differ from the map callsigns, could the changes be explained please? It took me a little while to figure that 2/A platoon was in fact Bravo. Also, I didn't realize that the platoon was to be split between Tapio and Tapio 10. But I probably missed that during the verbal briefing. If so, apologies. But we got it sorted in the end. Finally, sincere thanks to all who put so much effort into these big MP scenarious. Salut!
  2. Many thanks for the splendid AAR (a book in itself) Zip. I need to pm you with some questions about callsigns on this type of .sce.
  3. No you aren't - although it's clear you think you are. The announcement that eSim had actually recruited a programmer to bring the enhanced graphics project forward was new and well worth a post.
  4. Now there's an idea. Bound to be popular what with all those cooking programmes on TV and the rise and rise of the celebrity chef. :)But maybe that's just in the UK?
  5. Hope your meeting goes well. But with Hedge and I both playing Blue, all your plans will be as nought.
  6. Looking forward to it very much. Have never attempted to install custom skins before. Is it a fairly straight forward and reliable process?
  7. Zipulli, Is the published time the check-in time or the start time please? If the latter, when do want us to show up?
  8. Zip I'm available for any slot that needs filling, but would prefer, if possible to serve under Capt (UKA) Hedghog as I can now work out what his funny little grunting sounds mean. Well, most of the time anyway.
  9. Well Mark, as you know I am C.O because when I went looking for a UK-based virtual unit I was unable to find one - and so had to form one. This was when I had only been playing SB for a couple of weeks. I have never laid claim to experience or expertise that I don't have. At the moment my guys seem quite happy, but should we be able to recruit someone with suitable expertise who would like the job, I would be happy to stand aside gracefully. As you once said, 'UK Armour is run a bit like a gentleman's club'. Sort of semi-democratic.
  10. I don't think I'm quite ready for that! Troop Commander is more my level. And that's on a good day.
  11. Not necessary. I've found it in FM101-5-1 Vehicle Symbols. It's Cargo or Personnel Carrier. (Rather a general classification, but other lines etc within the box are presumably modifiers indicating a more specific function). Obviously missed it when I looked the first time. But thank you for your proferred help. :remybussi:
  12. Any slot in the British Batallion for me please. Could that sound be Gibson rubbing his hands together in glee?
  13. There is a particular eny icon that puzzles me. It appears within the red diamond as a square box with a saggy or drooping top. Within the box appear other graphics, presumably indicating a sub category of unit. But what I really want to know is what the 'saggy top box' means in generic terms. Just point me at the information if it appears in the manual or the wiki - but I can't find it. And it doesn't appear to be a standard RL symbol either. Thanks in advance.

    New T-90MS.

The picture suggests someone has already had a go at that...
  15. Perfectly safe if driven in a responsible manner. But when driven by a moron who is deliberately trying to turn it over - witness sudden and dramatic steering inputs - the result is predictable. Not clever - anyone could do it if they tried - and not even funny. Typical Clarkson in other words.
  16. In the very popular British TV series 'Only Fools and Horses' the lead character 'Del Boy' drove the van version. They were a common sight on British roads in the 1960 and '70s. The incredibly poor design seems to be a challenge to some people. I know that one was built with a small block Chevy in the back.
  17. Anyone know the origin of the track unit? Some agricultural or utility vehicle?
  18. Looks like a highly capable reconnaissance vehicle to me.
  19. Absolutely! As you and Marco demonstrated on Sunday night.
  20. EXHIBITORS, not exhibitionists. :cul:
  21. No problem. I'll just boot him out. No more friction than Sh off a Sh.
  22. So do you aim/guide it the same way as the 'normal' TOW - by keeping the sights on the target? Or is if 'fire and forget' like the Javelin? Thanks in advance.
