    Request: JSGME

I forgot to mention there appears to be a filename mismatch in the D variant of the T-62 skin. The .dds file name has not been correctly renamed. Nothing a skilled end user cannot correct himself (rename it to T-62.dds). The other three are ok. Yes, as Andym said there are many additional tricks JSGME can do such as save a list of all the mods (the number of mods can go on to hundreds with some sims) so one can uninstall and install the whole list with one click. It also knows how to back up and restore everything if needed.
  2. No, try the first hit on Google. (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Arefu)
  3. Ummm... yeah. Sorry about that. All the town and village names are taken from that same universe. Falls Church, Dunwich (which they took from Lovecraft's universe, for sure!) Evergreen Mills, Canterbury Commons. And the town under attack is Greyditch, but I removed the name in order to de-clutter. It's really hard to come up with names, you know?

    Request: JSGME

Hi, a new guy here Now that there's likely to be new skins for the new 3D models, I'd like to request all you skilful texture artists out there to familiarize yourself with JSGME. It's a simple file management tool which is used to swap mod files with a single click. Almost all sim communities (subsim.com etc.) use it extensively. All that is required of you is that you pack your fine mod with the Steel Beast directory structure intact, replacing "Steel Beasts" directory name with the name of your mod. That's all there is to it. I've made many of your best mods JSGME-compatible by myself in the past, by adding the correct directory structure inside the zip-file. A lot of people want their mods in an easy-to-use package. I haven't been able to distribute these of course, because they are not mine. Someone asked for these JSGME-compatible zip-files again, so I thought why not encourage you to start using JSGME instead. Download JSGME here: http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html This is what it looks like: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/Nogard/ModImage.jpg I'm making the new T-62 skin mod compatible right now, I can post a screenshot of the correct directory structure inside the zip when I'm done. I'm more than happy to help if there are any questions.
  5. Which height map? I took a 9x9 km piece out of Dartmoor. I did all vegetation, ground clutter, water, rivers and roads myself too. The height map is very hilly so making missions on it requires a lot of planning. I bet M60s are going to have a tough time there. Thanks. Maybe when I've done some more tweaking. There are two small towns and 5 villages on it now. I'm going to make a series of missions on it too. I've got three ready, but only one of them I'm completely happy with (see picture below).
  6. Makes sense. However, it would make more sense to the player, if some damage would be applied to the vehicle when it gets stuck like that. In both cases the vehicles were ok. It certainly looked to me as if getting stuck that way was not intentional. Maybe this is just a feedback issue. Some kind of a "you are stuck - as you should, for driving around so carelessly" -message for drivers like myself?
  7. I finished this small town a week or so ago already but I hadn't peeked to this subforum. The shot in the last but one picture was fired without sights. I popped my head out of the commander hatch, aimed the barrel to the general direction of the T-55, then reached back inside to pull the trigger. The round entered just above the tracks and ignited the tanks's unprotected ammo storage. I think I peed just a little in my pants! What a game.
  8. 1) I've had the new old M1 get permanently stuck in concrete barriers couple of times when the 3D model looks like it is a meter or so away from the barrier. And while it is stuck, the gun also sways sideways, which makes aiming impossible, until you cut off the engine. Then you can aim again. Ramming the tank with another could not displace the M1 from the barrier. I have a screenshot of this one but it's on the laptop. I can post it later if you think it's of any value. 2) I have had CV90/40-B get permanently stuck in an old two storey building (the greenish one, not the dark brown) while driving backwards. That's all I have found. I have to say it's actually unbelievable how few bugs and issues this sim has got. Play any other sim out there and you see what I mean. SB Pro is truly mature software (as one would expect).
  9. It's been made the same way in CV90. For what it's worth, I prefer the current implementation. It's safer to have a dedicated button than a toggle, because this way you don't have to know the state of the toggle (MG/gun). When you need a MG you just push M and you get a MG. With a toggle switch on a keyboard you might get the gun instead when you push M. In the real thing they don't use a keyboard for the switch. (Actually I don't remember what of a kind switch the real M2A2 has.)
  10. Hopefully there will be an announcement by email too for those of us who are on eSim Games mailing list? So I don't have to keep hitting F5 all day.
  11. Happy Anniversary! Thanks for making my tank sim dreams come true, too. (I started with M1TP too back in 1990!) May your next 10 years be even more successful.
  12. Ssnake do you by any chance play any flight sims (vector extension-supported or maybe just IL-2)? If not, go to someone who has one of those things in his system and give it a shot. I can almost guarantee that once you experience it first-hand you will WANT to put it higher on the priorities list. I hear it's not terribly difficult to implement the support either. My mouth starts watering when I think what SB Pro PE could be like with built-in Track Ir support. I don't have any figures for you but it seems like every other flight sim player has purchased Track Ir already, so there are a lot of these things out there. Most flight sim players are, imo, potential SB buyers. Track Ir support would be good for marketing point of view too.
