Looking forward to see how 10 people with stout hearts defeated the Parachute Battalion.
That's the great thing about Easy Red II - It can very easily depict Company and Battalion fights with minimal player participation.

Wish: In-game VOIP that can be switched by echelon, down to Crew (much like Arma)
Previously I was against this idea but I play so many games that have VOIP and I find that it is generally a great feature.

*dying noises* life is quite a struggle as a student right now must work more for insane heating costs than anything else. But yes, work on that mod goes on.
Thanks for the update. We appreciate your time and effort. Excited for this mod, but also understand that life comes first.

Give me more hybrid RTS/FPS....
Call to Arms: Gates of Hell
Much better than the base game, Call to Arms, which has a modern setting.
This was a cooperative scenario that was played on TankSim with players directly controlling tanks and infantry squads.

XM8 AGS
XM2001 Crusader
FCS
GCV
EEEV
RAH-66 Comanche
And for a good reason -
None of those concepts brought any additional capability that upgrades to existing models couldn't achieve.
GCV isn't dead though - it's still a thing but more of an overall project; AMPV is an output and its definitely a thing. As is the MPF (Coming to an IBCT near you)

PNG Importable Height Maps to build terrain.
A very indie game called Easy Red 2 (WW2 FPS, Combined Arms) allows users to import .png height maps for instant map creation. This is absolutely amazing.....
1. Find a source that will let you download height maps
2. Get PNG
3. Import in-game
4. Profit - a map that would've taken me WEEKS (years in SB! [fact]) took me 2 minutes to import. I still need to add buildings, roads, and trees, but having the height map makes it super easy. Keep in mind, the map is zoomed all the way out and not representing all of the details. Up close it looks really good.
Just wishing again. PNG type height map importing.

What for?
"Receive coordinates. Stop vehicle. Enter coordinates. Push fire button, move away for reload."
I'm sure there's a wee bit more to it, like the selection of the firing location and setting the initial deflection angle of the missile to help excape counterbattery fire, but it doesn't strike me as so particularly interesting that I felt compelled to add it.
All sounds super boring and adds nothing to the game.

For all I know, the dev team can drop It´s publisher (Microprose) any time, just like Bluedrake has done with his project Operation: Harsh Doorstop recently.
1. This happened?
2. I didn't think it was even a real game. Total lack of movement in 2 years of development, plus.... Another pvp shooter that offers nothing more than current games on the market....meh
3. The microprose name is a joke at this point. Weirdest "comeback" ever.

TitanIM is the MIL version of this and certainly not to be confused with what Microprose is releasing.
It's just a sandbox with little to no assets. My assessment is that this is a cash grab that will prey on confusing people into buying it because they think it's TitanIM
Who would actually buy this?
Also-
Shermanator is such a tool and loves to post non-factual, clickbait titles to get views.
Nothing screams "I am a giant YT tool" like his catalogue of videos

Anyone have any numbers regarding amounts of wire and mines that an Inf Mec Bn might be issued for any given defencive position? I understand in reality this will depend on the mission and priorities, however, is there an SOP number? thanks
There is no doctrine defined for MECH unit obstacle material loadouts - and it will be wildly different in each variable possible...
Nation, terrain type, obstacle effects desired, # of obstacle belts, # of required obstacles to be built...

Looks awful. Just like the last two

OPERATION EXCALIBUR [NON SB]
in Multiplayer Engagements
Posted · Edited by Apocalypse 31
This operation will not include Steel Beasts, so please feel free to move it to Off Topic.
But we had previously conducted CRISIS IN DONOVIA and we had a lot of fun and a great turnout, so we're moving on to our second mini-operation at the TankSim Discord (with a third being planned)
Presenting: OPERATION EXCALIBUR
What is OP EXCALIBUR?

This one may not feature SB or tanks but I'm sure another one in the near future will.
