  3. Well the value(0/200) I gave was generalized. I was referrering mostly to HEAT or KE. I'm not following you on using the Shift function. I use the F1 view, mouse over to reload(KE/HEAT) and enter Reload/KE/HEAT, whichever I'm currently using, at 0/87... This value will not reload(I receive no flashing "Reloading KE/HEAT").
  4. What's the correct process for ordering a reload? My problem occurs in combat. All to often, with KE, or HEAT, i'll order a reload, and nothing happens. It just sits there at 0/200... I'll switch to another vehicle, and come back a min later to my "reload" problem vehicle and the AI will have it reloaded. Now I just back out to a safe spot and switch vehicles when I need to reload.
  5. -A more user friendly and realistic, pre-planned call for fire points. ie you designated a pre-planned call for fire, 2 minutes pass, that designated target after the 2 minutes, can be called in for immediate supression(15-25 seconds delay) if tubes are available. A pop down menu for preplanned targets(clickable) from the mapview, so you just right click the preplanned target, and execute the call. -Infantry Mortar platoons, or mortar carriers. The ability to call the fire mission from within that unit(range dependent), as well as FO's, ect. -Combat engineers that can lay down small mine field, on a small section of road, ect. Anti-tank or anti-personnel mines available. -TC and gunner modeled. TC up/TC down viewable from 1st and 3rd person views. -Loaders machine gun a useable position on applicable platforms. Obviously coded so that the loader cannot be reloading and using the MG simultaneously.
  6. I'm new to the sim somewhat, havent had a go at Multi yet. 16 years SOF experience, still active duty. I can shoot, move, communicate, and will hold a flank if ya need an extra body. Prefer the Leo series(2A4/2A5 extensively), havent had any experience in M1A1's. Good to go with all IFV's, MCLIC, Engineers and recovery vehicles. Will be on Friday afternoon TS.
  7. Ok I've seen comments here and there discussing Campaigns, mini campaigns, ect... I'm guessing it's a series of linked scenerios.... Am I missing something here? I see nothing in game, nor on the downloads section in the category "Campaigns".

Though I do love this sim thus far, I was really surprised to NOT see my TC the first time I popped the hatch and went to F8... though I understand this platform is mostly a military sim, it does take away somewhat from the gaming and immersion standpoint, not seeing at least the TC when he's up.

I understand the issues with not modeling the reloading sequence from the loaders standpoint, and I'm also aware the loader would rarely use the MG3, however, it's there for a reason... main coax overheats, goes down, in a pinch if enemy infantry is threating to overrun, and backing out or exposing your position to enemy armor is not an option, well then, the loader mg may be your last option. I think it would be pretty much accepted that if you're manning the loader MG, and the AI fired the main gun, you'd have to come off the machine gun, switch back to TC, gunner, or driver to allow the loader to then reload. No big deal really, it just seems too tempting seeing that beauty sitting on top of my Leo and not being able to get that sucker rockin.
  10. The 'cool factor' is waaay higher using the loader, plus you're unbuttoned and totally exposed. I like to live life on the edge... :biggrin:
  11. Did a search and found a post from 2005, nothing recent. Perhaps its only the skins I'm using, but the MG3 is there on the top of the turret, is it useable from the loader(F?) position in Pro PE? I've messed around some with no luck. Those damn enemy infantry are a pain using the gunners view only. Even overriding with TC, you're still switching viewpoints.
  12. Good point, I'll give it a try now. Ok, it does resupply ammo to the ASLAV25. Didnt appear to be carrying out any repairs. Just used an edited tutorial, 3 ASLAV25, one w/dmg, one w/low fuel, one w/no ammo. Brought up the CS and jumped from vehicle to vehicle checking repair/resupply status.

  14. Did a little experiment with the ASLAV CS last night, apparently they do NOT resupply ammo. I parked an ASLAV next to a Leo2A4 that needed ammo, switched over to the Leo waited a minute or so and no resupply was conducted. Brought up a HEMMT Cargo, 30 seconds later the Leo started resupplying ammo. It appears to be a refueling platform. ESIM any chance we could get a resupply or version of the ASLAV? I'm pretty sure most LAV companies have an LAV(no turret) dedicated for ammo resupply. At the least there should be an ASLAV repair version. Perhaps you could allow the resupply version to tow other LAVs as well, though any tank or LAV can tow tank to tank regardless of their version. The ural has a crew of 2, can resupply AND repair. Seems logical to have an ASLAV version that perform one of those roles. Is there a link, FAQ, or thread(I did a search with no luck) that lists all the support platforms, with descriptions on what each vehicle actually does in SB?

  16. I've recently discovered this version of the LAV in game. CS is obviously Combat Support, however I haven't noticed it resupplying, or repairing any vehicles I park them adjacent to... And I also noticed a 'Remote Targeting' function in one of it's submenu's... How does this function work? An additional question on LAV's, why doesnt the '25 version carry troops? I rode in the back of one with 5 other guys a few times as an assault squad early in my career. If I remember correctly it sits 3 and 3. Seems odd in the sim it's not allowed to carry troops. Thx in advance.
  17. Ok so I made a platoon of CV9040C's, and then made a platoon of infantry. Well actually I made one CV9040C the CO of a support Company(2 med113s, 2 repair113s). I made a second CV9040C the XO of the support company. How do I get load infantry onto the 2 CV9040? I tested the Misison and neither CV4090's had infantry riding inside.... so then I created the infantry platoon, and I'm stalled there... Went through all the option submenu's on both platforms, couldnt find a 'mount vehicle' or 'load troops' in the Mission Editor. Also, for the CV9040C what size inf platoon to you create? ie each APC can onlly carry so many infantry. Perhaps my inf platoon I created is too large and thus does not have an option to load the CV9040....

I'd prefer different sounding files for Red vs blue anyway, no matter what side I play. You'll know which inf is urs/theirs once u get the sounds down wjether u play red or blue. Now if we can just get some AK47, AK74 and RPK sound files for a great OPFOR Red Folder inf sounds!

  21. SB Pro PE arrived this past Tuesday! Outstanding SIM! After honing the skills with the tutorials all week, and 2 small battles yesterday, I ran my first full on sim(no resets, start-overs, or pauses for me). Wanted it to run just like a real Op. PzGren Assault. winter Difficulty: Medium Realism: High Mission Time: 300+ Minutes. Got HAMMERED by Arty immediately after leaving the first phase line! I think it was blue on blue, inadvertantly triggerd by the CO(some numbnuts call sign... Dräger)! 2/4 Panzers down the first few minutes of the operation! Alternating 2 Panzers in repair at least 50% of the time, and with medics piecing back together my Kommanders non stop. Post battle casualty report 0 loses on panzers(0/4), 5/21 APCs out of action, my infantry however, were utterly decimated. 94% casualties for my poor PzGrenadiers! my reinforcements never released... With overall forces bitterly depleted, an extensive recce was called for, prior to carrying out the last big push up NorthEast. Giving time for vehicles all repaired, those that could. A second staging area was required for a quik re-org. Unfortunately no resupply available. Assault force moves from the re-org area, inflicting heavy enemy losses initally, then Soviet artillery answers. Heavy casualties througout friendly lines. All available forces that could move or shoot are once again mustered at a add hoc staging area, just short of a second oncoming enemy counterattack! All internal reserves(from my original assault force) are committed, flanks unsecure! The last big counterattack was insane! Felt like I was back in Irag, no joke the MG rounds, explosions and ricochets, with Arty all came down to the final few meters! The intensity of the machine gun fire the final minute of the battle... similar to actual intense firefights, when you have to stop and just think a split second "My god thats a lot of machine gun fire"..., Too bloody close to real combat! I found myself thinking 'ok calm down man, do it smooth and easy'... reload, aquire, squeeze... next target! I honestly felt 1/2 panicked during final few seconds, I thought surely they would break though the remnants of my pathetic Kampfgruppe any second, surely this can't be happening I thought, total defeat the last few yards it cant be.......then VICTORY! Mission complete! I managed to find my 2 down Leo's were repaired only minutes before their second massive counterattack(they'd been down for about 80minutes. ! "Enemy tanks approaching" My only AT capabilites 6 HEAT in recently repaired Pz 2/Alpha, the 4th panzer also just repiared with only 8KE!! Both primary sights down, running strictly on backup and daysights. All other tanks and AFV's down to HE cannon or MG only for the last 45min! Arty saved the day! For some reason none of my reinfocing units released, which made the situation even more desperate.. or if they did the last few minutes were so desperate I couldnt maintain awareness of my rear areas. 300 minutes plus, thank god I wasnt actually hoofing it with my kit on for this one! Great sim gentlemen. I'll be staying in scenerios a while I have much to learn, before Online Multiplay! AAR:
