  1. I created two regions, 9 and 14 and when the enemy occupies either region in strength, the mission should end with a "Major Defeat". I also put in blue mission Victory if enemy is mostly destroyed. Can someone take a look at the mission end scoring logic and tell me what I need to change? BTW, I did read the book and tried to understand it but it's kind of confusing to me but I'm sure it's just a failure on my part to understand it. Thanks, Striker http://www.tibuta.com/downloads/Moselle.zip ----------------------------------------------------- I found the thread on scoring. http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbwiki/index.php/Scoring I'll read through it and see if I can figure it out.
  2. Excellent suggestion Mog! I went ahead and set it up that way.
  3. Thanks Ssnake! I know it's not realistic Gibs but when you just play for fun with people that have limited time it takes away some frustration of having to wait for what would be real time repair.
  4. This is a pretty cool scenario written by Shakes. I tried to send him a private message but he's not accepting them. My question is, there is a repair area at the spawn point but I can't figure out it's working details. As far as I can tell the only thing associated with it is the M88 repair vehicle but when I've been near them in other scenarios they don't really accelerate the repairs significantly, however this black zone that is designated as the repair area will repair a badly damaged vehicle in 10-15 minutes from what I've seen. What is the way to re-create this in some missions I want to make? http://www.tibuta.com/downloads/cmtcplayM1A1(CO-OP).sce
  5. First of all, I apologize if that came across like no one cared. I didn't mean it that way. I only meant that the problem was frustrating and the fact that it couldn't be replicated made it even more frustrating. I appreciate the help more than you know. Second of all, I would like to apologize for wasting all your time in trying to help with this issue. It turns out that it was a misunderstanding with the commander in our group as to what vehicles were owned and what could be commanded. We ran the mission on Monday evening just to test the setup and reviewed the command structure and color of the vehicles in the map. He did not know that the medium blue vehicles were under his command and didn't know he could transfer the ownership to another client. It was purely a mishap on our end and NOT a bug in the sim.
  6. Will do. This is really frustrating to have you tell me that you could run everything fine though. I wasn't imagining that we were struggling with this problem. Is it possible that a clients range score affects their ability to command units?
  7. Yes, it works fine that way. I was able to run the mission and control all the vehicles in either single player mode or as a single player in multi-player mode.
  8. Yes, that's the mission. We only swapped some of the vehicles and not the company structure though and I updated the map to ProPE. I think I know what the main problem is now after thinking about it because I've run into this before. In order for the CO to command the Humvee's, they need to be in the same "A" company. The Strv commander in "B" should have been able to command them or pass them off but couldn't so there must be a bug in the unit structure or in the sim itself. I'll see if I can get the guys to test a couple different versions to verify and post the results here.
  9. It's definitely not a misunderstanding on our part. When the mission started the CO was trying to hand them off to me but couldn't. Everyone tried in turn thinking that it was a glitch but no matter what we did, we could not hand them off or control them. The only way was to go into the drivers seat and drive them. However, I will ask them to test the mission again on Monday. We are all aware of the different shades but I will try to confirm what happens and what shades we each have and relay the results here. I didn't know the XO couldn't control anything so I will keep that in mind for the future. We do have problems with network play on a regular basis. I may be lumping them all together when I state a percentage of times but my experience is that SB is not friendly to multi-player. We find it to be very inconsistent in who can host and number of players that can connect. We constantly get "network overload" and laging response and warping. I have written to esimgames about this before. I know that they concentrate mostly on their professional military end and not the consumer market but I think they need to fix the network stability issue. We've lost some players and one sold his copy because he was tired of the multi-player problems. I think the problems we've been experiencing are because of this instability or lost packets and not with what we're doing but I will try to confirm and post it here.
  10. Yes, we're all on broadband, either cable or DSL.
  11. Yes, absolutely 100% sure. We learned that lesson right at the beginning. Picking an observer position condemns you to being one for the duration of the mission. I should elaborate though. I said it's a regular problem when I should have stated that it happens often enough for it to be noticed. Not sure on the exact percentage of times. I'm guessing around 30%-40% of the missions we do. Some are ProPE and some are ProPE converted from the older mission library. It also doesn't seem to matter who is hosting. We do this every Monday evening and it's either one of two people that host.
  12. I'm absolutely 100% positive that no one picked those units. There were five of us and we took the CO, XO, Tank1-1B, Tank 4-1B and M2A2 platoon. This is a regular problem that we experience and not just a once in awhile problem. It appears to randomly affect platoon units that are never picked by a human.
  13. That's part of the problem we were having though. Nobody picked the Humvees but neither the CO or XO (me) could either command them or hand them over to another client. Do you know what the cause of that might have been. We've run into that on quite a few other sessions.
  14. I understand now Ssnake. I didn't realize that's why you guys changed that in the MP interface. I'll make sure I relay it to the other guys. Do you run into the same problem if no one picks that platoon to begin with though? We all started out in different vehicles and left the Humvee platoon unoccupied. Thanks!
  15. We keep running into a frustrating problem in Multi-Player. It's just me for this test pictured but the other night we launched with 5 clients and then tried to control the Humvee's but couldn't. According to the command structure, anyone that's in the CO or XO position should be able to command or hand off any vehicles under them. We're continuously running into this problem. Some times you can control certain vehicles and other times you can't. We could get in and drive them by going to the driver position but couldn't control them externally or pass them off to other clients. This isn't the only vehicle we've had this problem with before and it seems to happen randomly. When I started a local server as a test with myself as the only client, everything worked. I was able to drive and command the Humvee's fine. Anyone know what's going on here and how to fix the problem if there is one?
  16. When I first loaded SBProPE I was able to go into the Map Editor and there was a tool for selecting the area (movable box) that would be used in the scenario. Either I'm missing it now or can't bring it up again for some reason. It may be something I'm doing wrong. Can someone enlighten me?
  17. Thanks, I caught that right after I started working on it again. That's nice to be able to extract the map and the theme. Works excellent!
  18. Yep, that's what I did. I just applied a theme that was close to the original and it looks exactly the same and works fine. Thank you!
  19. Wow, that worked like a charm. One question though. How do you know what "theme" to apply to the map after the bridges have been updated? It isn't clear in the instruction video and if you look at the map "properties" it doesn't tell which theme is applied.
  20. Thanks! I'll give it a shot.
  21. I did a search but didn't find anything so pardon me if this has been addressed before. I downloaded all of the mission files off of the server and put them into their respective directories. I just used the ones from the server to create my own directories for missions. Example: "My Documents/eSim Games/Steel Beasts/My Scenarios/coop_large" and so on. The problem is that it looks like most or all of the ones I copied down are missing their bridges. I opened up a dozen or so to look and sure enough they're completely gone which makes them unplayable. Is it possible I did something wrong? Any thoughts?
  22. Thanks! I'll be there for sure. I'm in MST so that time works perfect for me.
  23. I would like to join you guys next Friday if it's OK. I've been a big SB fan for many years and picked up ProPE recently. I have a good handle on tactics and excellent gunnery rating. If it's OK can you tell me what coms are being used and where you meet up? Thanks!
  24. OK, got it. I backed that information up earlier but just didn't realize that's what you meant. Thank you to everyone for your quick responses and help! I really appreciate it.
