  1. The thing is that I'm using my laptop and haven't been anywhere near my gaming desktop computer or my games in general, that's why I'm asking. Thanks for the quick reply
  2. Back again. I haven't been able to check my version number yet (been away from my gaming library for a while) and I'm wondering that I might actually have an older version than 2.5. It seems I've ordered my game in April 2010 and I'm not sure where that puts me. Do versions below 2.5 (down until 2.0 or something similar) suffice to 3.0 upgrade?
  3. Is the manual going to be updated in version 3.0? I have a printed version ordered back in 2.5 and I'm between two fires whether I should get a new printed manual when the 3.0 comes out or will the digital one suffice.
  4. Dmagnusson, if I know anything about hardware you should be okay. According to my knowledge your specs are somewhat above mine. I'm not sure about your laptop though or laptops in general for that matter as they are not intented for gaming.
  5. Hey guys, again I've been scrolling through the forums like a madman for about a week now and I'm quite sure I'll be throwing money at eSim after 3.0 hits the "shelves". However I'd like to know about system requirements since my first try with SB wasn't so smooth as some of you might remember. I've managed to track most of my problems experienced back then to my gfx card which is a bit of a handful when it comes to drivers. So, I'm still running the same rig and I'd like to know where I should stand when it comes to running SB 3.0. I know most of the tech stuff is propably still unders testing and TBA but maybe some information in general. My specs: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition (3,2 GHz/core six cores in total), AMD Ati Radeon 5970 2gb of GDDR5 and 8gb of 1800Mhz RAM with 64bit Windows 8 Pro. Cheers!
  6. Thank you guys, superb responses once again
  7. Hey guys, I bought SB a long time ago (well not so long for the most of you, but you get the point), I believe back in version 2.5 or even one before that. I'm considering to upgrade my lisence to version 3.0 after it comes out. Will I be able to do that from a version as old as mine or do I need to buy the game again for the full price? Thank you in advance!
  8. I run Norton 360, it doesn't scan anything while I'm playing but it's there. I don't have a sound card, I'm using integrated sound cirquit that came with my motherboard. I think it's Realtek HD Audio. I woudn't blame this on the audio, problem is quite clearly with the visuals, trees are the major FPS killer and artillery finishes the job. With default settings I get around 30FPS in a a woody environment, I can increase the general slider and the ground slider to 100% without a noticeable difference, but when I increase ground cover my FPS drops to around 15. This was done with 4x AA and 16x AF but I've gotten same results without AA and AF as well. Anti-Virus was set to "silent" mode to prevent it from doing anything.
  9. From what I've understood SB uses only one core, so it doesn't really matter how many cores you have. My processor has actually six cores but usually applications use it as a quad core CPU. Ssnake, I use almost exactly the same driver settings, they're all general since ATI doesn't support program spesific options. It has to have something to with the components that I have.
  10. I tried running without AA. Grass, treest, etc. still kill my rates. Maybe it's time to acknowledge that for some reason or for another SB doesn't work on my PC.
  11. Thanks for the anwsers! I was a bit harsh when I said that I won't lower the visual settings, of course I lower them if it helps but doesn't decrease eye candy. I'm going to address each advice giver induvidually. Ssnake, I did lower the ground setting to 50% and it did actually help, until I got near a forest and artillery really killed my FPS. So that's a part solution, I'm considering the update as well. RogueSnake79, that's exactly what I tought when I got this machine "Oh boy, this will smoke SB" and now, look what happened, it smokes my machine My DX is up to date, I'm running 11 as you might've guessed. I ruled out the driver issues after I had tested three different Catalyst versions: 10.6, 10.4 and 10.11. As for the backround softwares and viruses, I rarely run anything bigger than MSN messenger or Steam in the backround and my computer should be clean. My anti-virus software checks it almost daily and I keep my firewall up all the time. But there's always the uncertainty factor with thses things, but I'm quite sure that I don't have a virus. And about the units, problem persists even in smaller scenarios. Sean, pretty much the same I already said to Ssnake, thanks for the help anyway Volcano, this one really got me excited. Too bad that when I checked if I was using this setting it was turned off already, at least that's what I think. I found an AA slider, it was set to "Multisample AA", the two other options were "Adaptive Multisample" and "Super Sample". So, unless I missed something this can be ruled out as well. But I can point out similarities in my problem from your description. Trees indeed kill my frames, I'll try to run SB AA turned off completely, let's see what happens. PS: Are you guys able to use ground clutter at 100%? I managed to narrow the problem. It's trees, artillery and grass that kills my rates. Not units, I'm not sure about the houses, but those will propably too kill my FPS, this is based on previous experiences. I'd love to see if the new update fixes this, but, I'm a bit niggard when it comes to things like this
  12. As the title says I'm suffering from very poor performance. The thing is that my machine should be able to run SB, but for some reason my FPS is around 20 whenever there are houses, trees and units around me. Artillery kills my frame rates too. For example, in Panzer Grenadier Assault scenario, my FPS is around 15. My current game version is 2483. My machine specs: AMD Phenom II 1090T Black Edition Ati Radeon 5970 with 10.11 catalysts (I don't think it's a driver issues, since the same thing happened with older drivers as well) 8Gb DDR3 1800Mhz 1TB Samsung hard drive Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit This is really annoying, I'd love to play this game, but I can't. I'm considering the 2.5 patch but to be honest, I don't want to order it unless I can't get my game running. Is this normal behaviour for SB or am I missing something. All the other games run fine on my machine, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 1 & 2 to name a few. Looking forward to your anwsers! E: Tank range works fine, FPS is "locked" to 62,5, it doesn't even flinch. I'm running the game with everything maxed out and 4x AA. I could lower the settings but frankly I don't want to, not with this machine anyway.
  13. Thanks! This has to be the best support forum in existence.
  14. I'm getting a new rig and this question rose into my mind. What do I need to do to make my dongle work in a new computer? Will a normal dongle-software unistall suffice? Thanks!
  15. I'll link this thread to Pelit.fi forums. There are couple of tankers lurking over there who have trained using SB and real Leos
  16. Wheee, I got it, I got it. Everything seems to be working fine, the sounds are just _AWESOM_!! Do I need to do anything else to my dongle than keep it safe, register or baptise it in holy water?

    Random Crashes

Well, now that you've found out what causes the crashes there is no reason not to try older driver versions. As sSnake already mentioned it is not likely to be a bug so you have to focus on your own hardware.
  18. Just click his name and select "Send email...". That'll work.
  19. For some reason I have a hunch that Alicatt might have saved my friend's day. :debile2:
  20. While I'm at it I'd like to ask one more question. Do you accept Visa Electron as payment option, my friend doesn't have a regular credit card and he has asked if I could order the game for him.
  21. Thanks. It'll propably take some time since I'm living in Finland but waiting is sometimes the sweetest part.

    Mail delivery

Hi, I ordered my copy of SB two days ago and after that I've been waiting for email about mailing my order. Since eSim promises to mail their orders within couple of days I have come into a conclusion that the only email I get is Order Confirmation. Is this true or will I recieve another mail about posting the game?
  23. That's what i thought, but got confused after reading how people get 30FPS with quad core systems etc. Thanks for the reply and see you soon on the battlefield :]
  24. Hi! I've been thinking to buy SB for a long time now but I'm a bit uncertain about the system requirements. My system: C2D 6700 (2,76GHz/Core), Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX+ 512mb DDR3 and 3gb DDR2 (800Mhz). Will the game run on my computer and if it does how well?
