  1. I take NBG stands for Next Battle Group... "Omg they are all lost. NEXT battle group forward...!!" Enjoy reading about this mission. Been inactive too long.
  2. VJ L1 ans L2 should be Stripbv 90 (aka cv90FCV) Use cv9040c with gun, stabilization and night-sight disable becasue it only have a mg with day-sight. I would guess that PJ L1 and L2 should be ptgb 203 (use Piranha IIIC or ASLAV-25) or a softskin vehicle I knowledge is started to get kind of old... I know about the old mekbat 122/90
  3. I got a question on which vehicle the commanders (Chefsomgång) use in both VJ (chefsomgång Bat) and PJ (chefsomgång Trosskomp)? I guess QJ,RJ, SJ and TJ uses the same vehicles as the thier main combat vehicle. "chefsomgång" QJ =strv 122 "chefsomgång" RJ =Cv 90 "chefsomgång" SJ =CV 90 "chefsomgång" TJ = Piranha IIIC
  4. You can hold down left-alt and click and drag on the planing map. This shows a LOS tool which also show distans. This does only works in planing phase. I also miss the measure tool on the map in game
  5. Thank for the extended explanation, GH_Lieste. The lack the programming coils for the 3-p (kulsgr 95 LK) make it a expensive option on the early cv9040 ordinary HE and PFHE (kulsgr 90) is a better (cheaper) choise
  6. GH_Lieste is partly right about the differens on cv9040 A/B/C. The basic cv9040 is the first version without stabilisation. The cv9040A were fitted with a gun damper which did give a limited fire on the move capability. The CV9040B got upgrade with: modify elevation system new software for FCS reserv sight (videocamran on leftside of gun) Electric controled fire pin modify electric system in the turrent changed panels for VC and gunner improved crew ergonomics flare gun removed upgrade suspention All this changes resultad in a fully stabilisation of the gun. There is a limited number of cv9040B with support 3p-ammo know as 9040b2 The cv9040C version is upgrade with support for 3P-ammo, improved protection and air conditioning and a new IIRC. cv9040,9040A,9040B weight about the same (23tons) with about same mobility (but 9040bis a more comfortable ride) and 9040C is heavier (28tons) with some mobility loss. The Norwegian CV9030N is a more modern vehicle with a 30mm Busthammer II. Finland and Swizerland uses a more advanced version of cv9030 known as MkII The Dutch and Dannish 9035 is the third generation of export CV90 with a 35mm Busthammer III. some words about guns. Sweden uses the 40mm because they were cheep (Lots of 40mm AA-guns and a shit load of ammo already in storage ) and the other choise at the time (middle of 80-ish) were 25mm busthammer. The 40mm were consider to have better grow potential and effect. The drawback were that the 40mm is a big gun. It were forced to be turn upside down to fit which funny effect that the spent cartrige is ejected high up in the air. The biggest drawback is the limited ready amomunition (only 3x8 rounds). In my opinion the busthammer 35 (and 30) is a better chose. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CV90 and http://fmv.se/WmTemplates/Page.aspx?id=1126 (swedish only)
  7. Can I get it with nice bling bling rims?
  8. That is a good summary,Norfolk. What tactics you use is alway depending on the mission, enemy, terrain. different terrain require different tactics. You organize and train your force in a way that gives you the best advantage in the terrain you are likely to fight in. Our smaller plt in closer formation works well in our close terrain. But probably not equaly good in the open terrain in Germany and France. I appreciate and finds this thread interesting. To chose the right tactic is difficult. Offen there are many solution to each tactical problem. But I would like to see more detail in the discussion. We have different backgrounds and have different defenition of some terms which can make it hard for us to understand each othe. For a example: For me a tank plt is 3 tanks and a company is 4 tank plt, 2 command tanks and a cs-plt. For an american a tank plt is 4 tanks. We need to get more specific. In this situation,in this terrain, I would chose to do this, because... I think we all can learn something in discussion like that. I know I would, because I am not a pro at this things
  9. I think the problem is that you are talking about a very different type of terrain. The terrain in Norway and in Sweden is offen very hilly and largely covered with forrest. This result i a short line of sight, usually under 1 km. This terrain favors infantry and we used to be very infantry heavy. As a result the Swedish army uses a armour company with 4 plt with 3 tanks. The plt moves as a unit and fairly closed 30-100m. Overwatch and support is organiced on company level. At least that was the doctrin when I did my service.
  10. What!!? doesn't everybody use MATLAB every waken hour? I'm so confused
  11. Intressting. I´ll check my calender...
