  1. @Sean Time?...Well, I have weekends, I don't have any deadlines so I guess I have as much time as I need, and patience, above all I have patience But it takes the classroom edition you say? I was under the impression that this could be done in all versions. I'd rather not bother anyone with asking to make a base map for me, I'd prefere to do it all myself.
  2. Erhm sorry if this has been brought up before, but does anyone in here know how to make a map from scratch. For example if one wants to make a map over a region that does not exist in SB. I've read somewhere that the map file types in SB are the same as the ones google earth uses, but how do you do it? Wasn't there a guy in here who did it by the help of some transparent overlay program kind of thing using google earth?
  3. Indeed! :debile2::biggrin::cul:
  4. I do apologize, I seemed to have worked it out myself now, there was a related thread that I had overlooked. It all seems to be working now.
  5. Oh sorry, maybe I should inform that I am running windows 7 32 bit, newly installed.
  6. Okay, so I got this new computer, have installed SBPE 2.538, everything went fine until I wanted to start the game. I get this message: d3dx9_31dll not found Can anyone tell me what the problem is this time?
  7. Okay Thanks all of you for your replies. It seems that it should be a "solid solution", forums like these are wonderful in this situation.....well in this situation too @Tacbat/Ssnake: Oh yeah I went to that link first thing, but you know nothing beats experience made by others, and all of these constantly renewed graphic cards and operating systems that consume more memory than before etc etc....it's a jungle! Take for example my girlfriend and I, we have each of our own laptop, bought at the same place, with identical specifications only mine was bought later and thus has windows 7, hers XP. Her computer is faster than mine, it can run the same programs better, she has better internet connection when using skype and running other programs simutaneously etc. all of it because I run windows 7 and the amount of ram that I have is rather low end for that system. Ssnake: So even with only 2 GB and win 7 64 bit, the game should run smoothly? @Toyguy: Okay thanks, I've never had much knowledge of power supplies and graphic cards, that informations is usefull.....although no computer has ever survived long enough with to be upgraded :biggrin:
  8. Hello all, Sorry if I happen to have posted this in the wrong forum, this was what seemed the most relevant forum to me. I have the lates SBpro V2.538 upgraded to 2.546 or should I say had....well I still have the game, but my p.... of s... computer broke down a few days ago. I thought since I'm now bound to have to through the night mare of buying a new one then I might as well do it right and make sure that the new machine will run SB properly because the last thing I want is to invest 300 € only to find out that it will run anything else but SB :eek2: :decu: Here is what I have been offered: - Undefined Asus motherboard - Intel 5400 processor - 2.7 GHz - 2 GB DDR-2 memory - NVidia GT-220 graphic with 1 GB memory - ATX 600W tower - Windows 7 64 bit - would XP be better? Think I have a free choice. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could tell me, to the best of their knowledge, of course, if SB will run well on a PC with these specs. and/or if there is a known issue with either of the above mentioned components and SB.
  9. @DarkAngel: Thanks mate I'll try doing that... @Tacbat: Surely the units in SB are bright enough to steer clear of such obstacles hehe
  10. Hello everyone, I'm new with this game so forgive me if this question is either incredibly stupid or has been repeated 100 times before. Is it possible to make a helicopter leave the scenario/map/mission theater once it has done its job. For example, if I have a scenario where I have modeled a helicopter insertion is it then possible to make it exit the scenario after the insertion so that I don't have 12 helos for example hovering around only consuming computer memory for nothing?
  11. Hello again! Sorry for the late response I was wrong regarding the error code it was a 1720! Sorry so much for that, anyway, after having completely removed and reinstalled the game I discovered that it was actually the runtime program for the code meter that was faulty, the runtime lacked a script not my OS. So I went to the code meter website as you suggested and downloaded the latest runtime for win XP 32 bit, ran it and now everything runs like clock work. Thank you very much for your help and all the efforts you made, I'm just sorry that you had to go through all of that before I replied, but I haven't had a chance to reply before now.
  12. @Sean I'm the one Skybird is talking about, sorry for the confusing put-together-in-a-hast message I'm new to the use of a code meter so I've misunderstood the bit about the code meter software in itself not being on the memory stick, but in the game software. The error happened when I had finished the game install and when the code meter-software installment started, it was halfway through this installment when that error showed up. I don't have any screen shots of it because I didn't thinl about doing one such when this happened, but the error code was 1740 and the message said that a certain windows script was missing, after this the install stopped. I am running windows XP, whether it's 32 or 64 bit I don't remember, I will check that up. I didn't know there was a codemeter website either, I will try that out too. What exactly do you mean when you say that I have to run all of the installs as an administrator?
