  1. Approximately 150 kilometers at about 40...43° angle. That's just a guess. The safety range of 120mm DM33 was about 130km. For comparison, 7.62mm NATO will fly to a max range of about 4.4 kilometers.

Thanks for the reply Ssnake, never thought it would be as far as that,I thought about 20-25 miles. :c:

You learn something new every day.

About the Broadband speed, that was about 6 months ago,I now only have the 30mbit D/L speed now as it is cheaper,I must redo my sig.

    Cheers,

    Mick. :)

  2. Hi Agiel,

"Also, any multiplayer sessions out there that can help break me in?"

You mention that you are a Limey, lol. :)

I have only been playing a few weeks and since last week have joined UK Armour for a few online matches as I am from Scotland so the time thing is perfect.

They meet up on a Sun,Mon and Wed night at 20.00,you can get their info in the online section.

I strongly advise you to take the plunge as I have learned loads in a short time and they are a really helpful bunch and make playing this sim a whole lot better.

Good luck and maybe see you soon M8,

    Mick. :)

  3. Cheers for the help guys,

I installed SB in the default folder, ie:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\eSim Games\SB Pro PE

I installed the HI RES texture files no problem but didn't like the dust trails so I D/L the back 2 basic ones and they seem to have worked no bother,it just seems that it doesn't want to let me see the skins for some reason.

I will do some more D/L and testing over the weekend and see how I fair.

Will let you know, but I think the outcome will be the same. :(

    Thank you,

    Mick.

  4. Thanks Crusty,

I tried Easting 73 and no joy there either, also in desert ambush as well.

    The files in my,

    C:\Users\micks\Documents\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\mods\textures\desert

    Are T158track.dds, m1a1roof.dds, M1A1.dds, abrams_decals.dds and the folder called red,no other files.

    Thanks for your patience guys,

    Mick.

  5. cheers Marko,

Yes it is Win 7 I use and as I say I am sure they are in the right folder (not in red one).

I know they are the right ones for my version of SB,ie most recent,I just cannot figure out why I can't get any to show up in game? :(

    Regards,

    Mick.

  6. Hi guys total noob here so please bear with me. :)

I am having a little trouble getting skins to work, and I think I have them in the right place.

I have read all posts in this thread a few times and still can't get it to work.

    First I D/L the M1A1 Desert (2.640) by Captain_Colossus

I un-rared the file to reveal some files,

I put the track,roof,decals,M1A1 files (all dds) in my,

    C:\Users\micks\Documents\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\mods\textures\desert

These are the only dds files in this folder, also red folder is there too.

After D/L the Advanced tank range USMC : M1A1MBT Fort Benning sce I still see the green skin and not the desert one.

I also tried a few other desert sce and still don't see the new skins.

I have tried a good few skins and can't get any to show up,so I must be doing something wrong.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated,

    Regards,

    Mick.

  7. @anfiach,

"How intelligent is it? All of the videos I have seen make it appear rather impotent, rarely firing and only killing the player when they make a horribly noobish mistake."

Hi there bud,I,after watching Cobrabase's videos on YouTube for ages,I asked him this very same question a while back as he made it look so easy,as I too thought the AI was a little impotent.

He assured me that this was very much NOT the case.

I just received my dongle from e-sim a couple of days ago and I can confirm his answer,as it definitely IS NOT the case.

Watching vids on YT can make it look sooo easy sometimes, but believe me it is certainly a lot tougher than it looks, the AI are really quite hard and some of the scenarios are deadly for beginners.

(Thankfully the tutorials provide great instructions) :)

I am so glad I made the purchase as there is so much included and so much to learn,I know it will keep me engrossed for a very long time to come.

Hope this answered at least one of your questions, from a noobs point of view anyway. ;)

  8. Hi bazjak,

I too just ordered a copy yesterday and I am eagerly waiting for the postman.

After SeanPatrick had let me try out his licence a few months back I have been waiting to get my hands on this for so long,so really looking forward to getting stuck in.

I just want to also formally say hello to everyone here and would like to say what a great forum this is as I have learned so much by just being a lurker.

    Hello from Scotland,

    Mick. :)

PS:If anyone does have a spare licence going AWOL till the postie arrives I'm all ears.

  9. I just wanted to say a big thank you to SeanPatrick for taking time and a heap of patience to get me hooked up with the demo, due to me installing the update along with the actual game files has us scratching our heads.

So cheers pal for your time and effort, and the other guy on TS who came in at the last moment to give us some words of wisdom thanks.

I have been having a blast and already know this is a must buy,

    cheers lads,

    Mick.:cvcsalut:
