  1. My first screenshots. Nothing exciting or challenging, really... just learning the ropes (Leo2A5):
  2. Problem solved! The solution is rather simple, really :clin: I set the compatibility to "Windows XP SP3", thus forcing DirectX 9.0c to kick in. Now I can switch to full screen and choose whatever resolution I want without getting the annoying D3D error. PS: maybe it would be useful to add this workaround to the FAQ, in case another user stumbles upon the same issue again.
  3. @ rump: No luck using the suggested options.dat, still can't change to full screen. @ Rotareneg: I'm not using SweetFX with SB Pro PE 3.0, mine is a fresh install. So I don't think that's the problem.
  4. I found my own options.dat file but how do I open it?? I used notepad but can't find anything other than funny characters which make no sense to me at all. An interim solution would be manually stretching the window to fit my screen but I wouldn't like to resort to that as a permanent fix
  5. Is there any way to bypass the options menu and force the change in resolution externally via an .ini tweak or something?
  6. Dear Ssnake, Thank you for your reply. I attempted the following: - Uninstalled graphics driver, used Driver Cleaner to clean the remaining files. Rebooted PC. - Reinstalled graphics driver (latest one from the manufacturer). Rebooted PC. - Reinstalled DirectX. Ran DXDiag, no problems found. Rebooted PC. Tried running SB Pro PE again in full screen mode... got the same error message and result (crash). I never experienced this type of error before. I even switched off my antivirus to see if that was conflicting with the game. Didn't work. I can't think of anything else that might be conflicting with DirectX, the graphic drivers of the game itself. What did other users experiencing this errors do to fix it?
  7. Greetings! So, it finally happened! My CodeMeter stick arrived today :luxhello: so naturally I installed the software as instructed, plugged the key, added my license and launched the .exe for my first ever taste of PC armoured warfare in SB Pro PE 3.0 Thrilled enough I was that the software ran fine in "windowed" mode; however, whenever I wish to change to "full screen", I get a CTD and the following message appears: This happens regardless of the chosen resolution. My monitor's - and the one I'd like to play in - is 1600 x 900 x 32. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (x64), an i7 950 CPU (all cores active), 6 GB of RAM and a Radeon HD7950 GFX card. Please, any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Thank you for your kind replies. I'm ordering the game as we speak
  9. Thanks for the kind reply, Gibsonm. I hope I'll be joining the SB club soon, once I get the shipping info sorted out. Yes, I am! Cheers! AFAIK, that programme was cancelled back in 2006; the development of a new APFSDS penetrator is underway for the L11A5/L30A1 rifled gun to replace ageing munition stocks (for export customers - Jordan, Oman - and the British Army), so no migration to a smoothbore 120mm main gun for now (that was once part of a larger upgrade programme referred to as "CLIP"). I was referring to the latest TES upgrades which include additional DL2 armour modules & bar armour, Enforcer RCWS, DNVS (driver's night vision system), Barracuda multi-spectral camouflage net, IED countermeasures and digital battle management system. Anyway, I hope we get to see that implemented in SB in the near future (one can dream...).
  10. Hello, everyone! Thought I'd introduce myself here rather than creating a new topic. I finally made up my mind about buying Steel Beasts Pro PE. Challenger 2 is my favourite main battle tank and when I read it had been made available as a controllable tank in SB Pro PE, well... that pretty much settled the question on whether to buy or not for me I've been reading the SB Wiki and I realise this tank is not fully or thoroughly modelled yet (as the Leopard 2 or Abrams are), so I was wondering: a) how accurately are the sights, FCS, subsystems, protection, mobility, etc. of the Challenger 2 modelled so far? Are they - in their current state as per 2.640 - a faithful rendition of the real thing? b) what sort of upgrades to this tank can we expect in future versions? What about the latest upgrades, such as TES? Will those be included in a future release of SB Pro PE? What are eSimGames' thoughts about this? Having said that, should I buy now and upgrade later or wait until the next release...? The other question relates to purchase itself. I live in South America so if I buy the game, will shipping be a problem or will I be charged any extras for it? Thank you
