  1. A yes.. off course.. I see.. doh.. Never mind Tjay!
  2. Tjay, could you send me that training mission we did last wednesday so I can go over it again to refresh my mind?
  3. then my question is.. what would be the normal procedure since you don;t have to do peri to gun, but can also just hit the cancel or palm switch and order the gunner to fire. Sound logical.. you spot a target through the peri.. hit gun to peri.. gunner tells you identified.. you hand over the turret with the palm switch/cancel button and order to fire. Although when you use peri to gun you can imidiatley see what the gunner is looking at. If you would do this with with a peri to gun.. you slave the peri to the gun.. and if the gunner decides to rotate the turret after a hit.. your periscope will rotate with it.. and I find that disorentating sometimes.
  4. yes, I also don't understand that.. go out for one night and have a couple of drinks.. and you pay the same. (if not more) what people also tend to do with SB, is compare it's visuals with current engines. We also have a small group flying in DCS (Black Sharks, A-10's) with the addition of CA and DCS World they do see it's interesting to have more detailed groundvehicle sim also.. The problem with DCS is that the terrain engine is made for flightsims.. and whenever you roam on the ground.. there is absolutely no small ditch to go turret or hull down.. It's not detailed enough. If the terrain would be at least as detailed as SB it would be interesting to have SB as some sort of Module to use in DCS World
  5. When you spot a target through the peri and hit KH.. the gun moves to what you see. If you then want the gunner to engage that target you must hit cancel before ordering to fire (If I'm correct) Could be the same if you decide to take out the target yourself. Spot target, hit KH, gunner moves barrel to target.. you hit cancel , switch over to fire yourself and lase and fire. Have you tried that? I was practicing this yesterday in the leo2a5, and it worked for me.. although I could be wrong about the order I pressed all the buttons
  6. The tactical community I play ArmA with also know about the existance of steelbeasts, but weird enough.. I'm the first one that purchased it. Now when I'm on TS there.. they are all over you asking what it is like. There are more people interested then you know at first. One already mailed for a demo license to check it out also. Everyone always agrees that when you look at SB videos on Youtube.. it really has no competition when it come to a tanking sim. But since it's a dutch community and most are not as "Old" as I am.. they always get scared when they see the price. If you really want more SB users.. maybe a great idea would be what Valve does with their co-op games. Sell a co-op pack of 4 licenses so the price is reduced. And then do that only for tactical communities or something.
  7. Got the problem sorted out I can confirm I was able to join yeasterday.. and tried helping blue to stop the ever advancing red army. Needless to say this rookie tanker got his ass handed to him
  8. Tjay, Mark, Sean or anyone willing to help out.. I cannot make it this weekend.. Also not able to attend the TvT against 911 Tjay. I will keep my TS open tomorrow from 20:00 my time to see if someone is online. Need this thing checked before the next training on wednesday. Furia : Thanx for the Link! That plug-in seems to do whatever I want.. will check it upcomming week.
  9. Haha, that's ok sean.. no problem.. I have that also sometimes in the evening when I think I can sit down for 5 minutes on the couch before going online.. en ending up falling asleep  tjay, something came up last night so could not get online.. sorry about that. Is it possible to lower the ingame sounds? I cannot find a sound settings menu anywhere, and it is overruling my voice sound from ts. It's a bit hard to be able to communicate like this Dave.. I have the same thing, it's learning the keys that is the simpel part. The communication protocals and tactical stuff is the hard part. But I have no doubt that we will be able to learn that by learning from the others. Don't be afraid to make mistakes.. although I always am.. I don't want to be the one messing up a mission for everyone
  10. I can try to see if I can get online tomorrow at 21:00 (19:00 your time) or I can see if sean is online in the afternoon to check connection. btw.. i don't see an interiour in the challanger, or am I doing something wrong.. I'm not driving a tank without an interiour! I prefere getting to know the leopard 2a5, in honour that they ditched all the leopards this year in the netherlands. What's an army wihout a main battle tank? it's a shame that they took them out of service.
  11. thanx for the introduction yesterday to uk armour! great to hear the practice.. planning, communication etc. I managed to open the ports in my router.. so hopefully I'm able to join next time. Is there a way to test that before a session? Going through the tutorials now, and setting up some quick keys on my mouse. I'll see how far I can get before sunday.. if I feel up to it I love to see if I can keep my tank alive against the 911. But I'm not sure it's usefull to drop in if I cannot even get a shot out.. then pactice wednesday is the next option for me.
  12. Looking foreward to hear how your training is going dave! mark, thanx a lot.. I've send you a pm.
  13. Just recieved confirmation that my dongle is on it's way. Tjay, is it an idea that I drop in ts on wednesday just to say? What TS do you use? the stealbeasts one? I'm pretty sure British people can make themselves understandable to dutch people in english.. or else we can always ask a scandinavian to translate.. And if I'm am unable to understand British people.. I can always join Furia at the Spanish 3 Regimiento Tizona .. maybe I'm better at following spanish orders
  14. thanx guys! Hope to be able to start soon.
  15. Hi Guys, Thanx for the welcome! I stumbled across UK Armour and PzBtl 911 already ;P Training on wednesday and playing on sunday sounds good! I love to come take a look around as soon as I have my dongle Tjay. On sunday I also ususally have a team meeting.. in my spare time I'm a vehicle modeler/rigger working on WW2 tanks .. but guess I can skipp that for SB And the reason why I can only be online at night is becaue of work and the kids etc. Home late, eat.. walk the dog.. feed the horse.. you know the drill.. before I know it .. it's already 21:30 before I can sit down behind my computer. Long night of tanks sounds amazing.. but I don't think I'm ready for that.. and 6-8 hours.. wow.. I have to watch my already rsi infected wrist Is it possible to spectate ? Really like the co-op videos on youtube.. Cheers Peter
  16. Hello All, New SB player from the Netherlands here. I'm a long(er) time ArmA player and playing that at a Tactical Community here in the netherlands, but like armour more. Been looking at SB for a while now (over a year) never really pressed the order button. But since I want to learn and play more with armour and at my community they don't like tanks in a co-op game.. decided it's time to finally get SB. Thanx to Sean for a 2 week demo, and thanx to Ssnake for giving me a german store to order it from. I hope to be able to play and learn from some of you if you are willing to guide me through some sort of noob armour training And if anyone here knows the best place to find European players, just let me know. Because of work the time I can spend online is limited to maybe once or twice a week in the evening. Hope my dongle arrives soon so I can continue practicing! OldRaven out!
