A few months ago I bought some new [to me] video and audio editing software. I used to make videos of SB campaigns and I figured since I plan on getting back into it I'll probably want to record again. Anyway, I finally got around to messing with the software (Vegas Pro) on my laptop, using my T.V. as a monitor with an HDMI cable connecting the two. Here is a pic of the program running with the default layout:
The larger screen on the T.V. is nice, but the video preview is still kind of small. So I moved some stuff around to make it bigger:
This was better ... but then I realized I could pop the video preview out of the program and at the top of the window is a button that makes it full screen on an external monitor. So I turned on both the laptop screen and the T.V. as dual monitors, put the preview on the T.V. and the program on the laptop screen. Then I opened a bunch of new panels that looked important and all of a sudden I became a big shot producer. 😎
... Actually I have little to no idea what I'm doing. But here's a video of what it looked like:
But I digress. The point of this post was supposed to be: if you want to make videos too, there is a great deal right now over at Humble Bundle. You can get $678 worth of video and audio editing software for just $25!! It's not the same program I'm using, but it's probably better. It'll be available for about 13 days after I post this. But even if you miss it, I'm sure they'll have a similar offer sometime in the not-too-distant future. I used FRAPS to actually record the footage, and to be honest I have no idea how much I paid for that, but it can't have been much because I'm a cheapskate ... which is good because I'm also poor.
Cheers!

Well, I've finally gotten 4.167 installed on my gaming PC. I'm getting back up to speed - slowly but surely. Hope to see you all at TGIF again soon!

Units don't "talk" to each other as they do in real life. You attack one AI platoon and the rest of its company just sits there like everything is fine. There is no reaction. The same with your own units when they are attacked or see enemy units. Nor do they "hear" and react to nearby combat.
Behavior like that can be scripted in the mission editor. For example: you can have Unit A move to Unit B's position if Unit B's number drops too low. It can take a lot of time, so many scenario designers limit how much scripting they do. But the mission editor is very powerful - and a well scripted mission can surprise you.

The auto-generated and translated captions are far from perfect, but they do get the meaning across.

That's part of why I enjoy using them. It forces you to use different tactics than you might with a more updated tank. Personally, it makes me a lot more cautious - which I think is a good thing.

I put rims on my T-72 once ...

The first time I tried milk in a hot cup of tea I was sold. Mind you: I grew up in the southern U.S. There is only one type of tea in the South. Sweet iced tea.
EDIT: A wedge of lemon stuck on the rim of the glass is optional, but is almost always served that way in restaurants.

The T-72 variants are still my favorite vehicles in the game. Top marks eSim.

I don't care what we're riding in ... as long as you can drive me close enough to hit them with my sword.

I haven't read that book, but I hear it's biased toward Harrison and unduly portrays Maskelyne as some sort of villain.

If no one has responded yet I can send you the file from 4.161. (I still need to upgrade.)

Ooooh ... lightning bugs!

I could do a mod. But I'd have to test it and see how much of a change it would actually make.
I've made similar mods before, but that was probably before the new lighting system. If I just make the interior blue now, it might still be very dark ... and blue.

Oh, yeah ... and it supports charity.
...and I just noticed I'm making some odd grunting noises just moving around in the video. 👨🦳
