  1. Thanks, these forums can be somewhat of a maze to a newcomer.
  2. Reposting a suggestion made in another thread as per tacbats helpful comment: Is it possible to change the colours of the messages you get from your units at the bottom of the screen? As of now, they're all red. I'd like to see contact reports and "taking fire/lost vehicle"-messages in another colour, to highlight them against all the "advancing to checkpoint"-messages. Sure, you get the audio, but additional highlighting wouldn't hurt - especially since the callsign isn't part of the audio message. As a suggestion, grey for routine messages, white for events-messages (as it is now), and red for contact-reports and taking fire perhaps?
  3. Not as much a question as a request, but it's a simple one: Is it possible to change the colours of the messages you get from your units at the bottom of the screen? As of now, they're all red. I'd like to see contact reports and "taking fire/lost vehicle"-messages in another colour, to highlight them against all the "advancing to checkpoint"-messages. As a suggestion, grey for routine messages, white for events-messages (as it is now), and red for contact-reports and taking fire perhaps?
  4. That would be great. An option to add custom-tactic routes and BPs would be nice as well!
  5. Never thought of checking the wiki - been a while since my last visit, it seems. Re the manual, if there is such a section I sure didn't find it. There were tables explaining behaviour, but those tables didn't contain any info on mounting/dismounting troops. Thanks, though.
  6. Thanks. My PCs don't seem to mount up in every instance where they're proceeding on new routes, though. At shorter distances (couple of hundred metres), they just seem to leave the infantry behind. Might be a zone around the vehicle within which the vehicle can roam freely without the infantry trying to climb back into the vehicle.
  7. I'm not convinced that those issues can't be corrected by the computer, I've never experienced parallax as a major issue as long as the GPS was working. I'd be more worried about losing view of the target. I get the idea about shorter range engagements, but I've never experienced that as a real issue unless we were talking about excessively short ranges. Besides, the parallax benefits will only apply to the TIS, AFAIK - the issue would still be there in the day channel.
  8. Wow. That's pretty fascinating info re the TIS. Any idea as to why they placed the TIS where it is? It just seems like an inferior solution for a modern tank. I can think of at least a couple of occasions where we felt it necessary to lase a different part of the terrain than the target itself to get a solid reading - I suppose that is not practically possible with the TIS in the Challenger?
  9. Hello all! I've consulted the manual to try to figure this one out, but no luck so far. What rules apply to the mounting/dismounting of troops wrt routes and BPs? So far I know that engage routes at slow speed will cause dismounting. But will this apply to assault routes as well? Furthermore, which BPs will prevent the vehicles from dismounting their infantry (and thus save them from being smacked by arty), yet still force the vehicles to behave in a proper manner wrt the enemy (hull down, etc)? And if the troops dismount at a BP, in which cases will they mount before the vehicles proceed? It seems to me the vehicles can embark on routes (eg march at fast speed) without mounting as long as the routes end somewhere nearby? Finally, will pressing shift+U when commanding an IFV platoon cause the entire platoon to load all troops?
  10. Sounds like that might be it! Thanks! Edit: Wow. It seems like that actually did the trick. Thanks again!
  11. Uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version directly didn't help either...although running the game in windowed mode as opposed to fullscreen seem to reduce the problem considerably
  12. Actually, it made it considerably worse. Before, the flickering would turn up from time to time, and never at the slideshow after exiting the game. After the update, it's every time, even in the slideshow - regardless of resolution and Vsync-setting. Is there any way to roll back to the previous version of SB Pro PE? Btw, my computer is an Acer V3-771, i7@2.30Ghz, 12 GB ram, 64-bit OS, NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M with the latest drivers. Any idea as to what can be done is greatly appreciated, as the flickering is so heavy it makes any use of SB Pro PE completely impossible. Edit: @Gibson, Roger, I'll try that.
  13. Unfortunately, it didn't do much. The flickering is still there - at a level which renders playing impossible.
  14. Ok, thanks. I'll try that. Btw, the marder-issue turned out not to be marder-specific. Sometimes they're black, sometimes they're not, sometimes other vehicles are.
  15. I'm having strange graphics issues with SB PRO Pe 2.640. From time to time (fairly often), the screen will flicker to a massive amount, both in-game and in menus. It goes away if I switch resolution - and then returns after a while. I checked the FAQ - it said to make sure V-sync was switched on. I assume that means the V-sync option in the "Display"-menu, so I made sure that was set to "on". The problem is still there. Furthermore, for some reason every Marder in the game come out as black. This affects every Marder, but no other vehicle (that I know of yet). This problem has literally turned up overnight - they showed up fine yesterday. I'm not using any mods of any kind, btw. Any ideas?
