  1. I like the 3011 version better. :cool3: Getting fed up with facing the mighty German equipment all the time. Then again, Red always had Russian/Soviet stuff for what, the past ten years? Oh yeah, THIS mission. Right, NOW you have me interested. If I can stay up that late...:clin:
  2. Had some trouble, very choppy no thanks to my slow system. From what I can tell though, it's a good mission despite the size. One has to be careful with the massive amount of artillery called the OPFOR can utilize against the player. Being so frustrating with the choppy performance of my system, I gave up in the middle. Maybe if I can edit the mission to a smaller map with less forces on both sides, I dunno. All in all, I do enjoy missions of platoon and company level.
  3. Hope to see you in some online battles real soon. :cool3:
  4. In order to get a star on my profile :cool3: Oh well, just means I need to go back to CO school :c: Did I ever go in the first place? :clin: Can't complain about the equipment I had available this time. I haven't been in TGIF in a very long time. The ONLY reason I played last night was due to an aggravated back muscle and Memorial Day fireworks that prevented any sort of sleep. :gun: But it's tough not to play the game though, best game since Skyrim and XCOM
  5. :mad3: The plan was to have one company flank along the east and west of the map while a third company supported up the middle. Didn't work out so well. the eastern flank penetrated too deep while the western flank farted around too much, exposing flanks and allowed Red side to concentrate on one flanking unit at a time. People didn't "Bound-n-overwatch", failed to use infantry on the ground effectively, and our recon company died too quickly to spot enemies. We did not have a dedicated FO unit so I, as BN Co, was too tied up with 40+ artillery missions and not focusing on guiding the mission at the front. Red Co says it was close, I think I had my head mounted on a poll again. :c: One of the #$%@ days, I'm going to win a TGIF mission against Red...but not if it's the last thing I ever do:1: TGIF record: 0-4. About as sad as Cleveland Browns football :gun:
  6. That can only mean that Blue side already lost  Ok, some of the TRP's have the same number. TRP 146 is used three times. Clerical error? Or something else behind that?
  7. Does this mean that whomever will host the mission will NOT grant the Blue side a FO/FIST-V unit? I'm content with the amount of fire support so no arguments there. The good news is that Blue gets US equipment. The bad news is they are facing the formidable Leo2A-GODs in a face-to-face contest on a front only 6 km wide. Either way, gonna be messy real quick, real fast
  8. With only 3 batteries and attacking on a front only 6km wide, Blue has about a hells-bells chance of winning without a dedicated FO and/or more fire support. :gun:
  9. Everything from Easy to Tank Hunter PTSD will do.:cool3:
  10. I would like for someone or a multitude of people to design more single player scenarios for me. I'm looking for platoon and company level actions. Nothing too great in scale or scenario plots but something interesting. I only ask for no passwords so I can mix up the equipment, but lock out the OPFOR. I've already downloaded as many as I could from the SB lists, but could use more. I just do not feel up to creating my own, takes the surprise element out if it. Anything would be appreciated. Wish I could reward you with something for your efforts...
  11. If one can click on your awards next to your screen name, why not at least be able to highlight the ribbons with the cursor? Come on folks, there SHOULD be a sense of pride in displaying your campaign ribbons. Else what would be the point of even displaying them? Now, about rank and promotions... Just kidding:clin:
  12. That's military jargon (from the OLD days) for the ribbons and medals. Just for people to be awed by the veteran's campaign ribbons, it would be nice if they would detail out which each one means by holding the cursor on the ribbons.
  13. Last time we played this one, I used C company infantry to hold down Charlie Objective. Bloodbath. I lost most of my troops, but the TWO ENEMY TANK COMPANIES that came at me paid a severe price against my dismounts.:gun:
  14. Wow, I forgot about the date of the German Unity. Good trivia question for my diplomatic profession. It's a long ways away, but count me in. I want my campaign ribbon!
  15. What is the equipment and vehicles for the cav and mech infantry troops? What about the Army reserve co goods? My request: Mission 1, Cav Trp V21 Mission 2, Army Reserve Co Mission 3, AS tank trp T13
  16. Eager to see more faces participating in TGIF, Dogs of War Saturdays, TANKS Sundays and more. Playing solo is fine, but more interesting with more active players.
  17. Fighting off a sickness and have not slept well past few nights no thanks to storms. Someone else please take command of Orange. Thought I could tough it out tonight. Not happening
  18. Playtested some martyrs on a blank mission map. Unless there is a way to increase the strength, these VBIED's are not very powerful. Within twenty meters, the best they can do to any given AVF was light damage, immobilization and maybe crew casualties. Tested against T-72, T-62, BMP-1 and BRDM-2...same results. Oh well, I guess these are Walmart IED's...:clin:
  19. Set by triggers and events. Got it. All I need to do now is calculate effective range, blast radius and how they affect specific vehicles. Mission editor will handle that :cool3:
  20. How can I activate martyr vehicles to blow up within a certain range of enemies? In the mission editor, they blow up the moment the mission begins.
  21. But I will command Orange. Why is this a problem for me? Because I am an early bird and NOT a late-owl. Staying up so late on Friday messes me up the next day. But for the glory of Steel Beasts, I'll do it!!!:gun: My overall record is 3-3, however, I have yet to win a TGIF scenario
  22. Last time I operated some insurgents in TGIF, I kept blowing up Rotar's PC's at a radio station with a single squad of infantry. So the Red forces gave up trying to occupy it, went around it and defeated the blue by taking their bases. It was the Island Civil War scenario. Chaos, just chaos!
  23. Time for a better job :cool3: We are old enough to work smarter, not harder. Unless that overtime is just too good to pass up...
