  1. Happy 2024 everyone. Here's my wishlist! 1. chance of crew bailout when vehicle damaged, maybe as a percent based on troop quality. 2. new vehicles: T-90M, T-62M obr. 2022, T-80BVM, Merkava V, T-64BM Bulat 3. Ability to add/remove body armor from troops 4. Ability to add/remove camo nets and/or natural foliage camo to tanks. Cosmetic would be fine, but if it actually delayed AI reactions to you be cool too. 5. AI variable "burst" for autocannons. They always fire 2 shots. Would like to see 3, 4, 5 etc round bursts.
  2. Certainly from the Ukrainian perspective, nearly all Ukrainian forces have near-perfect information. The Russian side might not be quite so lucky. Surely, Russian forces do have drones but not as pervasively or with the same coverage as Ukraine does. There's evidence that Ukraine is growing quite adept at using fires to conceal movements. Combined with the ongoing problems with Russian secure communications, particularly within the LPR/DPR Militias, there might be times when Russian forces find themselves tactically surprised. There's also a human element. So while we know that Ukraine has extremely good battlefield vision, particularly at higher operational levels, not every formation has battlefield tablets or computers to network-share enemy locations. Sometimes a commander has to mark on his map where a reported enemy is and if he forgets or marks incorrectly in heated moment, lets say.....a Ukrainian unit could stumble into Russian forces even though those Russian were "known" to be there. I would imagine those instances are very rare though.

  4. Yeah, this is why I still play M1 Tank Platoon 2. The "dynamic" campaigns and crew progression, all from a game made 24 years ago. I create a lot of steel beasts missions, just for myself so I dont bother with proper map markings and briefings but Ive started to "generate" things using some random tables and a dice roller app. So i'll generate day/night, weather good/bad, hasty/deliberate attack or hasty/deliberate defense then a slightly random enemy force. It eats up a good hour or so to make a decent mission, but it feels a little unique I guess.
  5. Started with 1-month license and now have 3 days left. Just brought a Classic License and activated the new 1 month license to wait for code-stick but still says 3 days left. Did it not update somehow or will the next 30 days turn on when the 3 days of current license are up???
  6. I'm super new here, but ive been playing the game about 1 month now. Thought i'd toss in my few wishes. T-80BVM (I know its very close to in-game T-72B3) and German Puma IFV. I'd also love to see a Suwalki Gap map.

  9. Hey all, been a tank simmer since M1 Tank Platoon days. Been following Steel Beasts for a long while, but never took the plunge. I have a few questions before I do, however. 1. Is there a full list of all *currently* playable tanks? (the ones I find seem to be out of date) 2. Do most users play the vanilla version or is there a mod(s) that everyone uses? 3. Does SB have joystick/controller support? 4. are there campaigns, if so are they dynamic or least 'randomly generated'? 5. Is the Canadian Army represented in any way? 6. If there's one thing a new player needs to know, what would it be? Thanks everyone!!
  10. Hi all, I have some questions about SB PE before I take the plunge i'm hoping someone can answer. 1. Is there an updated/full list of playable vehicles somewhere. (the website seems out-of-date compared to videos i've seen. 2. How many theatres/campaigns are included? 3. Is there any form of quick battles or is every battle from a set scenario list? 4. Is the Canadian army in the game? 5. Does SB support HOTAS? (X-52 Pro, Thrustmaster X etc) 6. if your vehicle is killed, can you control another? 7. are any emergent technologies modeled? Shtora active defence, thermal obscuring smoke, self-forging shaped charge warheads? any other info or links would be appreciated! Thanks!
