  1. When NOE means NOE! Groovy music too, is John Holmes flying that thing?
  2. I got the 'Players Edition', which is FCRS + Germany Reforged. http://steamcommunity.com/app/330720 When i launch the game theres a splash screen with a link to the manual, and its just a bunch of credits and map notes etc. Not to worry though, there is always YT and the wider internet edit; As a matter of fact i just found the e book version of the original game manual on the steam store page that i linked! I griped too soon
  3. Hmm, well, the manual that i got with the steam version of the game (players edition) seems to be the 'Germany Reforged' manual, with not much more in it than some map notes. Will find a copy of the original game manual and do some homework
  4. Yeah youre right, the Shimmytar is fine, i even shot down a MI 24 with one once, as you may recall .
  5. There is a map zoom, but it doesnt increase the resolution of the terrain or the counters. There isnt really much need for it anyway, theres not a lot to look at or interact with at closer zoom levels
  6. You havent been messing around with the network settings in Sb again have you Rotar?
  7. Also, if youre using the Scimitar, dont.
  8. The package i bought includes 'Germany Reforged', and while i can see that it has a lot of depth, I have to say it has some rather annoying quirks, among them is that it runs like two legged dog for some reason. I think i will enjoy this title more as i come to understand the mechanics of the engine (not easy to do, with documentation not even covering basic things like what the different movement types mean). Finding myself frustrated by lack of control over the units, unintuitive controls (that cant be rebound at all) and inexplicably long delays between issuing orders and said orders being acted on. Probably need to trawl through the forums for tips and info on how it all works
  9. I like the longer videos, and did before i owned the game (Rotars old TGIF clips were an "unnatural" interest of mine for a time!). It does help if you can form some narrative from what the player is viewing at least, such as the other units in contact , or being able to see the event that players are talking about (also the briefing for a second please!) . 15 minute EXPLODEFEST videos are not generally an accurate reflection of the gameplay that SB offers, nor do they develop the feeling of suspense like a longer clip will. Maybe there should be a contest for 'Best MP Game video' ?
  10. Yep, played a lot of Wargame ALB, too much emphasis on turbo clicking and Jet/ SEED jet spamming in multiplayer, but a good title.
  11. I will take you up on that! Looking at the game right now actually, I like the level of detail in the UI already- looks like some old school goodness under the hood here! ( The menus and file browser UI are pretty average though!)
  12. So i bought FCRS today- Cold War hex based tiny sprite violence here i come!
  13. Thats unfortunate dude, more players make for a better game i think. If the problem is that you end up with too much to manage well without 'Enemy Map Updates' , you can just have less? Its not uncommon for players to have just one vehicle, from what ive seen. Either way, 'each to their own'
  14. Yeah i do enjoy TGIF, but i would go for another Head to Head style game, but with the time differences, i have to be able to sleep in a bit the next day, ie; not go to work. Stupid work, always messing with my SB time
  15. Crewable PT 76 and BRDM 2 AT's (even if only partially internally modeled) would be a nice addition, especially for multiplayer head to head events like TGIF
  16. I loved Panzer Blitz and Squad Leader, have been looking for something to scratch that itch for a while, ill have to check out FCRS
  17. Ill watch this space for another Fri/Sat game soon then
  18. Hellz yes, i would like a Luchs, but am happy with anything else instead/also.
  19. Good to know that its being looked at ( i think performance is an issue to some extent for the majority ). Thanks for the info
  20. The Warrior in SB currently has powered traverse and manual elevation/depression!
  21. Good game today all, and congratulations Brun, Red won Looking forward to seeing any videos that may have been made
  22. Or....you could CO Red to glorious victory and/or death, and witness the battle with your Heads eye!
