  1. I concur, I am going to leave this discussion due to most likely having triggered some, which is never my intent, (well there are a few that have a short fuse, hehe) :)

Thus is the world we live in.

I enjoy discussions of different views, never like echo chambers.

I have come to realize that having a option/ view on various subject from different angles is a enlighten state others don't share . Best to follow the narrative and be safe, by uneducated officials.

I look at my leaders talk about "people-kind", and then watch this human.......

Exclusive Interview with Russia’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson the reporter is from Canada and has done excellent work.

This is how I would think humans should develop a view, from just listing to a different voice, its not that difficult, well, if you go into this with baggage you will have a difficult time, some will get mad, triggered, etc. If this has that effect, your not going to survive this harsh world.

    Final disclaimer:  This may hurt.

  2. Your spot on IMO.

"and it exposes why things are the way they are"

What we find now compared to past history is the need to hide, ban, de-platform, use terms as Troll, (country) puppet, disinformation, etc. Or as in my country "unacceptable views"

In the information warfare units this is a "Look here they are placing above interest in disproving" effort, and as such as in life, these strange humans, they look deeper.

A complete fail, no blue checkmarks will save them. We are winning, but it is a constant battle.

This should not be consider as political speech, but some can't see this, one side of a issue must be banned, otherwise humans will have to chose, and we can't win if all the facts are presented from all sides, in short -it's a mess.

Hats off to those who explore all sides and come to their own conclusions. :)

"You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be ...

  3. separate the purpose of the cages from the wider narratives being spun

Humans are strange, but somewhat predictable: Imagine if you would (Outer limits voice) a crew in combat on the planet in the 20-21st century who sees first hand a fellow tank return with a enemy anti-tank warhead stuck in a cage .

Does he mimic this, as a way to survive, or disregard the memory of the last tank he saw with the turret exploding into the air......Sir, I'd like a cage please is what I would predict .

I may be wrong on this  :)

the cages appear to be a unit modification rather than a directive handed down from the top,

Crews adapt, learn lessons, get rdy for the next deployment with this knowledge, rinse, repeat, such as the life as a

    crewman.

why they were there but gone now,

You may want to consider that the vids/photos that showed the units with the cage mod , were in the start of the SMO, generally after a time these units would be rotated back from the engagement line to, refit, rest etc.

This is a answer to "now their gone".

Sometimes the simplest answer has the highest probity on the scale.

Unit rotation is a thing :) , implemented during heavy combat to preserve units to engage at a later date/loc.

They may appear again, who doesn't like T tanks with cages.....Hint to ESim, Cages for all...:)

  5. I would agree, same thing as in Afg, abet a different design in materials, same logic.

I would think it ,if covered would act as a sun shade also, a win win situation. :)

Floating mines down the river, thats pretty smart.is that taught or improv?

From the vids published it was a arty strike as reported by both sides. UA has bragged about their arty vid on site.

I would think that the river at this crossing point is not deep enough, as seen by T-72 tops showing.

I believe the mines are sub surface as not to be seen.

Open to any evidence to say otherwise.

  7. There is a vid of the arty strike where a crew can be seen jumping off a BMP as the rounds impact.

As for the second time, it has been suggested that it was from the return to the original side.

Also put forward they originally crossed, then waited for the 2nd group to get across , but they failed, and it went pear shape from there, and most troops escaped.

There is another vid of the UKA looking at the site days later also.

We may not know what happened till this is over, or someone there explains the event.

It is odd the amount of BMP-1's, and the 4 tanks in waters edge in formation. This "may" have been a DPR unit event.

Do you have a link to that video?

Could not find the original vid, but this one has the same conclusion that, (speculation on my part)

Most likely the 74 Guards Motor Rifle Bde, and 35 MR Bde, due to the only 2 units in RU forces still using the BMP-1 still.

    End result-18 T-72

    33 BMP-1 (5X BMP-1AM ,2kia)

    5 BMP-2

    13 unknown AFV (mostly BMP)

    5 MTLB

    1 BMD-2

    2 BTR-D

    2 BREM-1

    1 PTS-3

    9 PMP trucks

    1 truck

    2 BMK 460 boats

    ODD Facts:

A.T-72X4 driven into water all facing same direction in a close line, retreating with barrel over rear???? (intentional disabling of the tanks so they couldn’t be captured)???

    B.No kia in area

    C. 2x crossings same loc, same equipment.

Must be noted that the appearance of so many BMP-1s , may be due to both sides using captured AFVs, how ever 30+ BMP-1 is still "Odd"

Unit later in the week units did cross and moved further .

    Hope this helps.

Been reported that this site was used by both sides. If one looks very close it becomes clear that there are AFV's from both sides. And there is vehs used by only one side. BMPs in line formation as seen is the result of def positions held facing outwards. There is a vid of this area and what took place in great detail, indicating AFV types, and who did what/ when to gain the crossing.

This was confusing as both sides used, crossed, shelled, recaptured the crossing site. Some time last week when it was finally put out of operation did we find out the true story.
