  1. I am using the term "LAVIII" for a production AFV, the Canadian Light Armoured Vehicle program_ 1996 MOWAG Piranha 3 MK3 LAVIII CDN _. ( prime area to cause confusion) I merely posted the time line (best est). Which gives the estimated contract production time frame. You may deduct your own interpretation at will , if Strikers (a family of veh's ) fit the time line to make you happy, if so I'm happy, if it does not, I'm still happy. However... Comparing RL production contracts vs SB AFV's ie " "The Piranha IIIH, which led to the LA
  2. My point to be clear, to avoid confusion. "I feel like this is where we started and this is where my previous post ended." I concur.😊
  3. I was once given some good advice on my analyst course, To see, one has to look. As for the mitigating question ........test and report back here on your finding in regards to Armour, speed, acceleration so others can learn. Again, AFV data is never back and white (think opsec), LAV's info is no different.
  4. Mowag , GDL (Canada) sites mostly, for timelines. https://www.mil.be/nl/materiaal/piranha-df90 http://www.military-today.com/artillery/piranha_IIIc_df90.htm http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com http://www.warwheels.net AS for length, its a free for all, some count storage boxes, some don't. Best go with hull length in its bare state. I have no illusion on they having conflicting data to be clear. As a operator/ trainer of the series II and II , I can only go on by what data I was provided on course, and through personal research into this AFV's history.

  6. I think you may be mistaken on the LAV family. The first Mowag ( which I operated) was the 2/3 wheel version in N America, then the LAV, then the Striker (which is really a LAV ) were built here in Canada . http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/coldwar/Switzerland/Mowag_Piranha.php...........shows the history
  7. Already done, select in AAR the map view, then roll the AAR and sit back and watch the battle below you for what ever height you pick, one can pan around while sitting still on the point of ground selected. It's fun to watch the events this way I find.
  8. It's been there from the start this option I believe.
  9. Also the ability to print the map out. I use my IPad as a map screen, small, but works.
  10. I can ask some of my Dragoon friends that were there, this was the regiment that I deployed under in 74, great unit. so long ago. It will take a bit of time. This may help.......https://www.facebook.com/groups/canadianarmytrophy/
  11. yes arma, as I'm told by those who use the game.

  13. Well, as this is a "wish" list, and, sometimes wishes do come true.....I like to see all vehicles have at least a F7 view, and the unbuttoned view at a minimum (vision ports). This would make a lot more playable AFV's with (dare I say it) very little effort (runs for cover). We have a lot of cool AFV's that we can't use....but would like too. As for the "specifically if your tank die", can that user just be transported to the map in the CO's veh? This way, the CO knows a player is without a veh, and the player has the map to follow the mission. Just a few th
  14. Don't think it can be disabled, V will set us straight. That being said, I also would like the F7 view option (on/off) . My thinking is...it's all one has a a TC in RL if the scenario call for it.
  15. We had the same thing happen here with our "we don't require " MBT's any more (pre Afgstan}. War gaming the MGS , which was to be bought to replace our Leo1's. They tried many times in simulation to make it work as a tank, making the enemy less realistic (armour value) to make the MGS win, they never got it to a reasonable tank/inf support AFV. In the end they had to come to the conclusion the MGS was NEVER going to fit our doctrine. Its a case of ..We will buy this AFV , and write a doctrine to fit it, rather than the other way around...Our doctrine re
  16. The TUA turret could be added, as a option to sooooo many AFV;s in the sim as the RWS has...just saying.:)
  17. TUA/TOW died from neglect between the Armour and Infantry Corps during Afghanistan, we still have the TUA turrets and ITAS systems stored in Montreal, but though there has been some discussions about the state of Anti-armour in the CA, TOW Ptls have been removed from the ORBAT also.
