Playing Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear PC version. Using the built in dice camera feature, I think all PC wargames should have this feature! Personally I like the WEGO system best for PC wargames. CoH Matrix Games: http://www.matrixgames.com/products/424/details/Conflict.of.Heroes:.Awakening.the.Bear! Also available on Steam, but if you buy from Matrix, you also get a free Steam key, not same the other way around! BTW: It´s on sale at Matrix Games till next month! Enjoy your holidays if so! Red

In most cases (myself), wargamers play against themselfs! We are a special kind of breed! You split your mind in two, and try not to make a mess of the kitchen floor! See Calandale´s video above (The Mighty Endeavor), he´s playing by himslf (nasty boy), at his cottage in the woods. Some folks go to a gaming club where other people have the same hobby, some play by e-mail (PBEM) with the Vassal module (free), if it´s in a PC format, then you most likely play against the AI, or PBEM or Multiplayer, and lastly, some are only for solo play, or you can buy the solo expansion for that game. Most of the time´s you teach someone, or someone teaches you how to play, because there´s alot of games out there and not everybody plays the same game. If you want to jump into this, just let me know and will do something. Now is the right time (sales) to pick up PC wargames.

For all you unfamiliar to this classic... The rules for the ASLSK (Advance Squad Leader Starter Kit) series, are quite reduced compared to the standard ASL rules... "FYI".

Now that´s what I call being "in-sync"! So, how are you liking UO and are you playing solo, if so how? I haven´t had time to get into it yet, been reading the "West Front Tank Leader" rules which I just picked up, and a little bit of "Firepower" (Avalon Hill) which I also just got (BGG). This also came in... It´s a wargame holiday for me so quite busy! Glad Iam not alone! Thanks Los!!!

Yes "General Staff" dose look promising, will see, might just back up this project. Your approach with multi-platform campaigns sounds right interesting, I like the idea. Main problem I see, for some, is the ability to have/play and be proficient in the platforms in use, but for me I see it as a great Idea! I can see a Combined Ops situation with SB, DCS and Arma very easy to get into, also with Combat Mission xx and some hex games could fit the bill aswell as you stated, even iL-2, Steel Fury (or Panzer Elite) and Iron Front could make the WWII era! Overall a great Idea and Iniciative, I bet your group has a great time! Thank you for sharing Los! On my end, Iam trying to keep my mind busy lately, so I got two new games in from BGG today in the mail, Avalon Hill´s "Firepower" (1984), a very interesting man-to-man (squad) tactical game, and West End Game´s "West Front Tank Leader" (1987), another interesting game with focus on C3 (Command, Control, Communications) with some CDG in it. Compass Games might re-master this game as it´s quite good. Also "Urban Operations" (Nuts) will be in this Friday, so very busy. Will post as I absorb as much as I can regarding the above. Meanwhile, a Interview with Mark Herman... Red
