    Leopard 2A4 Skin

Hey, is this the same Snorri who did a whole bunch of IL-2 Sturmovik skins?
  2. That is going to be one sweet Leopard! eSim should really consider just packaging your skins together with the installer!
  3. That video is even more....Yhea. My favorite part was when the Shriners made an appearance at 01:25 I-g3o_1Fosg
  4. What happened with the gun when it went over the hill? Looked like it spazzed out?
  5. Yhea but he forgot steps four and five. "Pray that you hit." "Curse about missing."
  6. IIRC what's going on is that the resupply vehicles try to supply the vehicle with it's default load of ammunition per slot, not what it was loaded with at mission start. A workaround I can think of is to make multiple squads and use the "Spawn if" command to spawn an additional platoon loaded the way you want them once the first platoon runs low on ammo. Give the first platoon a "March" route leading to the edge of the map and then off a short distance off the edge, and set it up with the "Embark if" low on ammo property. Then when the first platoon runs out of rounds, they'll just drive away and a second platoon will appear to take their place.
  7. Must have missed that website, but I figured it was worth double checking. Some people have weak google-fu and can't find crap!
  8. My German is a little rusty, but is any of this stuff useful? http://www.kotsch88.de/m_115mmmun.htm http://www.kotsch88.de/m_100mmmun.htm Personally, I'm perfectly happy for you to make educated estimates with some of this stuff. At the end of they day, we aren't forced to use anything we don't like/want to use in a scenario.
  9. Apparently, Yes. Skip to 1:30 and you'll see them monkeying with it. 7D2pBiyoc7c The other way is in 15 round chargers that mount on top of the magazine and let you pop 15 rounds in with one push. That's the one I wanted!
  10. For what it's worth, I would find completely stationary field guns and etc acceptable.
  11. It's not quite that horrible. The rounds are in plastic blister packs but the back is plastic film that you just lift the corner and peel off. It's just nowhere near as fast as getting a can full of 10 round clips.
  12. Speaking of ammunition, it must take FOREVER to load things in Australia. They seem to package their ammo in individual packets of five rounds. I bought 1,800 rounds of this stuff before I realized exactly what the packaging was. No wonder it takes forever to fill up the coax on the ASLAV!
  13. The colors we can fix ourselves I think, even redo the AKM so it looks like an AK-74. I think the existing 3D models are plenty close enough for them to be repainted to look like an M69 if so desired. As long as my brain says "Achtung, Kommischwein!" when I see them I won't worry that they don't look exactly like the real thing, and honestly I'm probably going to machine gun them rather than look at their trousers. IMHO the difficulty with representing cold war troops is more on the NATO side as they seem to have mostly newer composite helmets and such.
  14. It's sad when you've got to shoot 5.56 because it's more readily available than .22LR.
  15. But, if you want to quickly take a range on a target equipped with a laser warning system without letting it know you're ranging it....
  16. Yes and no. Right now, I think they issue a combination of old and new helmet designs. The standard rifle is still the AK. They tried to replace it with the AN-94, but that design failed because it's far too complicated and uses nonsense such as cables in it's action.
  17. I think most of the cold war era vehicles already have skins for various eras, for example DPAbrams has made plain OD, MERDC, and modern CARC schemes for the M1, the Leopard 2A4 has existing skins in both modern NATO style camo and plain OD green, etc. What we could use, I think, would be a few extra nationality folders so that we can drop these skins in and easily switch between eras, and also some older cold war infantry. US 1980 - would need new infantry: M1 helmets, M16A1 rifles, plain OD green OG-107 uniforms. Appropriate vehicle skins already exist for us to download. DE 1980 - would again need new infantry for troops wearing steel helmets rather than kevlar, plain OD green uniforms, G3 rifles. Again, vehicle skins are already out there. UK 1980 - Again, 1980s or 1970s helmets, uniforms, FN-FAL rifles, and if the vehicle skins don't exist yet then somebody will make them soon enough. We don't really need any changes for the Soviet/RU side because they're sill using the same darn rifles now that they used in the 60s.
  18. That's interesting. Why HEAT on tanks and KE on PCs, isn't it usually the other way around? Doesn't really matter, I can't hardly hit crap over 1500m with the T-62 anyway.
  19. -4JQbgccR4Y Don't poke the Panther. You'll only make it angry.
  20. Doesn't the BMP-1 technically have a 2A28 'Grom' and not an SPG-9, even if the do share the same ammunition?
  21. The day sight still only has 3x and 10x, you'll need to use the numpad + key to toggle on the thermal sight and then you can really zoom in. You need to manually index the fire control computer for ammunition type. Insert = Sabot Delete = Heat End = MPAT If the little indicator for your ammo in the upper right corner is blinking instead of steady, you're indexed wrong and need to select the correct ammo type. After you lase, the sight will begin adjusting for lead, this is based on turret movement over the last two seconds. Steadily track the target for two seconds before firing. If this method is not suitable for an engagement, momentarily release the palm switches (tap 'P' or the correct button on your controller) then manually apply lead and fire. After an engagement, I suggest that you go ahead and dump lead, again, by momentarily releasing your palm switches. The sight doesn't move laterally like it does with the M1/M1A1, but the same lead calculation occurs. That might be throwing you off a bit?
  22. When it's possible to model differences, they are modeled. For example, I seem to recall that one of the two Danish rounds is explosive. If you shoot it, you'll get little explosions where the rounds land.
  23. I might be wrong, and I'll check again, but I think the problem I had with the "is Wadi" option was that AVLB vehicles were not laying their bridges and everything else just drove right over them. Maybe it was because it was so narrow and shallow that the AI knew it could just drive right through. I completely forgot about collecting some data on M900, I figured that they'd be able to use what they already knew to make an educated guess!
  24. Related to the multiple parties thing, would it be possible to alter the way it functions so that one side could be optionally or conditionally given control or ownership of the units on another side? I.E. - We create a scenario with Red, Blue, and Green parties, and specify in the editor that Blue and Green are to be treated as a single side because Blue will always have control of Green. Green only exists in this scenario so that when the player loads the mission some of his units will appear to be painted differently or appear to be a forces from a friendly nation under his direct control. Green units are treated exactly like Blue units during planning and execution phases. Ideally this could be conditional as well. We have a scenario set up for multi-player use, we expect that Blue is always going to have at least one human player to call the shots, but that there may be a Green player as well. If there is a Green player, they set Trigger 1 before the scenario starts. Otherwise, If Green Trigger 1 is NOT set...Blue controls Green, and it becomes just like the above situation. (For the record, completely disregard this if it would be a PITA to implement. I would consider all of this to be "nice to have" but far from a big priority.)
