  1. LOL, funny you mention that... i built a strong point with HESCOs, Jersey barriers, etc on the high ground north of this town and need it for a mission....so, off to work I go on that little NW town...aaaaaaaaaaaahahaha! at least I don't have to touch the airfield which looks fantastic by the way p.s. i wear glasses now, so it's also 4 extra eyes
  2. right on AS! I just started doing the town the northwest corner (An Nasiriyah?) But am only about a quarter of the way through -- well okay, "just" is in accurate. I've spent about 12 hours on it. but you probably saved me another 48 ! right on chief heh, just picked up coffee so i could continue...now, i can just move forward thanks again!
  3. well, get your tail in gear Mapman! we have new buildings and light poles and fences and...and...and... good to "see" you!
  4. anyone notice the FO's have dismounts now?! very cool. it's all the little things that are so wonderful... and the big things, and the medium size things with those in between being extremely cool and useful to boot! get it.
  5. the love shack? i'll be there! just point me in the right direction...
  6. lol, i've decided not to even order yet...if i order tonight and part 1 is posted, i won't get to sleep until about 15:00 hrs tomorrow, i'll call in "sick or dead", lose my job and eventually my internet connection. i'll wait until tomorrow. don't wise men say something about patience? after the wait between SB and Pro PE, i'm a frigin' Buddha.

    Desert Strv 122

hey alfa, funny enough i noticed that while watching some videos the other day on the bundeswehr in afghanistan. frigin sand in everything, on everything; i bet you could arrive in woodland, and you'd be desert tan within 1 hour of starting a road march. glad to hear you're getting a break (well deserved i presume ). take it easy and have a safe trip out of the box.
  8. this product needs competition to drive the price down (one company has a niche on it). in addition, dealing with restrictive trade rules (in this case via the MoD) would drive prices. anyone want to start a company in Taiwan and start making these for us? i'll place my order as soon as the price is reasonable. and i'll take one of each type... otherwise, we'll all just have to make our own. a hobby i never anticipated having interest in...
  9. You'll need an extractor program, i'm pretty sure. WinRAR works great and they have a free version. my experience with using WinRAR is just open the #1 part and you're good-to-go. It will access the others as needed on its own. Probably the same with most.
  10. yes, there is always the addition of worthy INF (not just the model and texture, but being able to actually occupy them as a FPS), towed and SP ARTY that actually influence the ability to call for fire, oh and cannot forget mortars then, and those need to be crew-able...of course every red vehicle needs to be crew-able...and how about the 20mm gun for that Wiesel? Need to make that crew-able too... we have all the defenses in the world, but Ssnake has the_List; He is the_Keeper.
  11. now that's a man determined to have his vehicle in SB. which sim is that anyway? me? I'm already, always working on a scenario...or a few of them.
  12. lol, which army were you serving here Ssnake? will this vehicle be available in the next upgrade? i didn't realize Ssnake was a tagger.
  13. it's just the way i roll.
  14. I stumbled on to this article about the Danish Army contracting eSim to add the Lemur RWS. Funny, it was published almost a year ago. Am I just late or has no one seen this? http://www.armedforces-int.com/article/steel-beasts-professional.html Enjoy  Great writeup at the end for SB Pro:
  15. Can someone put an Austrian flag on one for Retro, please?
  16. I think Zip and the other guys have it spot-on Magnum. I for one have not played for a year until this past week. However, I've been playing since SB was a baby and created many, many missions... I did have interest in the contest and came back here just now to get more details. (I first saw the post yesterday -- my bad for being out-of-touch ) Try again after the release of 2.5xx and you might be overly gratified at the submissions. I already have a tablet of mission ideas for the new vehicles and unreleased missions that might be ready with upcoming additions. I probably have a dozen unreleased missions I just keep tweaking and waiting for the right vehicle types or a bug fix (maybe more than one)...

    Desert Strv 122

Nasder, it looks great and the colors "darn near" match -- quite well enough. I can only see a subtle difference, as if the colors were painted on the vehicles at different times. looks great. hopefully, 2.5x will be an easy transition.
  18. How apropos! awesome pic Demo Man. Ssnake, that is a great article you post there. basically sums up everything anyone could say about how far eSim and its faithful servants have taken this, the ultimate armored warfare simulation. the best thing since sliced bread, this.
  19. VERY good point Zip! heh, i just take it for granted that everyone making a mission adjusts the GMT to match the map they are working on, lol. i.e. hannover = +1:00.
  20. That should be it IIRC. I just took a look at one of my early morning missions and it starts at 4:30 (maybe you should play with the time) at 10% light and it's dark, but light enough -- 50% is definitely low light at 4:30. Try 30% at 4:10. That looks low light at that hour to me -- like heavy moonlight. *** EDIT: Ah! the above *might* be part of it, but i think this is the issue: change the sky.bmp. that has a great effect on how the sky looks in conjunction with the time and light percentage settings. oh, and i'll be at the mission 15:00 GMT is what... 9AM here, an hour and 20 minutes? Running out for coffee then be right back. I'll be on TS if you still need help with the low light.

    Leo2A7

hey wait! a new paint job doesn't deserve a new model designation! i DO like the added armor along the hull... always a nasty place to take a hit in a Leo.
  22. what he said. i thought this was a joke and that someone was playing at building models by bastardizing dejawolf's fine work. perhaps the UK needs elections soon if this is what the present government thinks is a worthy expenditure in this economy. (not trying to get political, just budgetary). sure does make a fine target though. i'd like to jump onto it as a crunchie and stuff it full of grenades, rip off a few magazines of sidearm ammo into the hatches, and so forth... i bet they'd never see you coming. yea, not so much the IFV i would want to ride into battle against LT INF.
  23. terrasim looks incredible Ssnake. i'd love to have Pittsburgh FAA in SB... and how much time could could this have saved our notorious mapsters over the years? these new vehicles, new map objects, buildings and so forth are a frigin' miracle. fantastic work guys. i can't wait to see it all. Nope! awesome ain't it?
