  1. My gosh deja! the model and skin for the new Bradley is incredible. Really, i cannot think of anything to be done to it! the tracks now have space where it belongs and are more narrow. the ATGM launcher is hollow. The details to the outer surfaces are beautiful. i've only played with it twice since the new release. i am sure i will see more new details as i continue to use it. in fact, i need to get back to the mission i'm playing . i just had to duck out and post this. oh and not to mention the new engine sounds...kudos to you too volcano! sounds great, and the transition to a stop is spot on.
  2. you can, but it's still built with logic ( if x = </= y then true with x being a random variable chosen at the beginning of the mission through magic). okay, kidding about the magic part. And the scenario designer (a purely technical term for anyone who has saved a .sce file in the mission editor) must create routes for the units to follow. however, you can create so many random variables with branch routes it would be stupid. literally you might check this page (and the rest of) the wiki to get more information about the mission editor and thus what the actual scenarios are capable of: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbwiki/index.php/Scenario_Design?chappeep_sbvbforum_wiki__session=c63c7eb0b4bb01d32f1da5efa241b5d5
  3. You might really, really enjoy the mission editor. Also, there are a few mission strings or operation type scenarios uploaded. You might be really surprised at the stuff we've churned out in that editor However, being a Falcon 4 dood myself and admiring the campaign engine on that so much i've played several campaigns strictly from the map view managing the ground units and the air ops  one day perhaps...maybe SB 2 will be resurrected or something like that with a campaign engine like Falcon. heh, one can dream. but in the meantime, SB/PE rocks.
  4. Yes, it seems the Ssnakemeister is neglecting us Tac. Look at the date on that post! All who seek the_LiSt. Beware this evolution in the pattern of the_Beholder. J/K Ssnake
  5. no, just the interior for the Challey
  6. Seriously though... Stratos has a good point in his post regarding the Piranha. Any chance of a Piranha IIIC template on your site? Would love to see woodland on that. I guess the H could go up too. I'd love to work on the templates for the T-62 and other T-xx additions as well  by the way Deja, the frigin' T-55 and T-72B models and skins are beautiful on so many levels dood. (Don't hit me Deja!, but the T-62 could use a little updating...)
  7. love that camo color pattern. nice work!
  8. Awesome little thing that Fennek. Thank you both for your responses. I guess I need to sit down and take a little time to be more specific with my requests before I post to the 911 site. but, will do. time to delve into the tactical. Ssnake, you gave me a real good idea of their general tasking. for the heavy recce companies, this explains the tank-heavy unit i was seeing as well. Advance guard type units of that size, the heavy PzAufklBtl, remind me of the old Wehrmacht tank regiments -- a little bit of everything needed; mini-divisions but with a shorter logistics trail than say a battalion as part of a U.S. Army ACR. But the operational comparison seems to better fit a Russian advance guard detachment when on the offense. Would that be accurate?
  9. THAT IS CHOICE~! Seriously. There should be another one in a year or so as new features are implemented. Excellent work Dr. Device. Oh, and yea, in my opinion, I think an hour or less (30-45 with another 15 minutes of optional clean-up?) is good -- somewhere in that nature for anywhere from a couple platoons to battalion + playable vehicles. Of course most people cannot, nor want to command so many units. More unis tends to = more time planning, but not always more time actually fighting and playing. If I only have a platoon, hell, 15-30 minutes. two cents.
  10. this doesn't seem to be a discussion on that topic; not that we stayed on topic. You might want to start a different thread to get answers, or create your own scenario in the editor with them. Just a wild guess, but since the M-60 is new, i bet there aren't any playable and posted scenarios with them. but i bet i could be wrong  again, might want a new thread and topic so that it receives its deserved attention, the M-60 that is.
  11. Can anyone lead me in the right direction to read up on German recon battalion tactics and really anything out there on this organization? Let's say, anything mid-60's through current, but 80's would be most pertinent. Was reading an old higher-level ORBAT and noted this interesting composition: "11th Recon Battalion: 34 Leopard 1, 10 Luchs, 18 Fuchs (9 with ground radar)" Lots of tanks there for recon so, piqued my curiosity as to how they would have (still would?) operate. Lots of fighting serials in general for a battalion. I guess I'm looking for more of a "cold war" explanation of how they would have operated.
  12. that rendering looks damn good Superbus. keep 'um coming
  13. here ya go ShotMag  http://www.russianarmysurplus.com/military.php?gid=56
  14. roflmao... i've read where those units actually achieved Guards titles due to their effectiveness. heh, during WWII the Russians would train the dogs to eat and sleep under tanks with the engines turned off and, or course, stopped. then they would train them with the engine on. Then they would train them to approach the moving tanks and run underneath them. All the while, they are eating and sleeping under the tanks when resting -- basically, the Soviets trained the dogs to become very comfortable around tanks and that the underbelly of the tank is where to rest and more importantly, to eat. So, they let them go a little hungry before the big attack and attach mines to their backs with whip-antenna triggers. boom, dead tank. This photo is probably of the training. That T-34 has a mock turret and gun. strange enough, some of the dogs survived the attacks. IIRC, Guards dog units even held a place in the first victory parades held in Moscow after the war. Frigin' nuts. So....Ssnake, can we add the K-9's too? lol.
  15. I get that too with "Master Bates." Ever seen Richard Pryor in The Toy? lol..
  16. That part was especially funny due to irony
  17. R.I.P. General. Though I want one too, I wouldn't go that far!
  18. lol....here we go Deja. might was well post all the new additions...
  19. rolling around laughing at you guys... hahaha. the_GuNn
  20. yes, this was a HUGE leap forward... but, i must ask, before this feature, I used to just re-pick the map from the mission editor (that feature existed), but you would have to reselect the area from the original terrain map as you would if you were creating a new mission and get the grid coordinates as precise as possible. Then you would just select EVERY route, way point, vehicle, map graphic -- everything and just move it all over to a known point on the map, i.e. a road junction or other map feature to "fine tune" all of this back onto the roads, etc. lol, you wasted a ton of time even without this new/older feature, dood. lol, Ssnake...mission editor. P.s. Quagmire (great name), et al this technique is still useful at times
  21. it opens a whole new world into SB/PE... i HIGHLY recommend it to get the full enjoyment out of this program
  22. Just be sure to use the Swedish uniforms
