We love playing with you all, the arranger and CO loves you even more if you sign up in advance ๐Ÿ˜ CG03 Seize the Airport v10K 2 July 2015 Weather fine , no rain forecast TIME 0758 local, Sunrise within 5 minutes 1) SITUATION: a) Enemy: Red advance forces have seized the airport arriving at last light and also recommencing in the early hours. They intend using it.as a base for flying in heavy equipment and reinforcements. The initial assault force at the airbase is thought to be mainly light vehicles (BMD, BRDM) with Inf and potentially missile teams. Armour, if any, will consist of PT76 tanks. Red air present is thought to be largely transport helicopters although reports received before the base was overrun suggested that some damaged Hinds might be repairing battle damage at the Airport. Further heavy Red ground forces are thought to be approaching the AO as of now to link up with this force prior to pushing further South and East Intelligence suggests this force will be 4 - 6 x Coy strength largely T90 with some T72m4. They are well led and you should not assume they will charge blindly forward. b) Own: Task Force Alpha You have 3 Plts M1A1(HA) and 3 plts M2 with support of 3 sections of M3 for recon. Likely that lead 2 X PLT of Charle M1A1(HA) will reach you during the operation along with 1 X PLT Foxtrot M2A2. They will contact you if or when they reach the AO which will be linked to your being able to Seize the Airport 1 x Avenger attached Fire Support is 3 Batteries of 6 tubes each Infantry Mounted in M2 consists of Inf plus 3 Javelin teams per Platoon 2) MISSION: You are to seize the Airport and hold it against enemy forces to prevent its use as a base to bring in further forces. To seize the Airport you must eliminate all Red AFVs and have less than 4 other units .i.e. mopping up operations only Sucess will be deemed as holding the airport for 30 mins and/or enemy forces are too weak (less than 1 Coy) to take it back without further reinforcement. To achieve the "Seize" condition you must clear the airport AND Science Park of enemy AFVs (mopping up infantry if not more than 3 squads left will not prevent the achievement being triggered) The area covered by this requirement closely matches the Planning Symbol on map There is no time limit 3) EXECUTION: Intent: Capture airport and establish defensive positions to North and West against enemy attempts to take the position. You have 3 scout sections to recon your initial advance and to warn of enemy main force approach directions

OBS: CSS zone is 15 min repair all if unit and 13/BDE is located in the zone NOTE: Red no go zone are penalty zone so avoid! 1.Situation a)Enemy: Enemy is attacking west from Poizten and Kreutzen after they have seized Fassberg Airfield to our EAST. They have secured crossings and are preparing to continue the attack further. Elements of an enemy recon company have been sighted North-West of Trauen and in the area South on Munster moving West. Recon flights shows unit consisting with an enemy Tank REGIMENT in our BDE AO. Intel sources in Trauen and Fassberg have identified enemy forces of T64 (squint T72) and BMP1 and 2 type in the area. Marking identified them as 48th Guard Tank Regiment. S2 estimate that they can bring in an additional BTN of tanks from their forces in EAST of Fassberg. Enemy Air warning yellow. b)Own: The 33rd Panzer Brigade is preparing defences from Soltau towards Bomlitz. Heavy fighting near Munster have brought ENY forces to a halt and we believe they will attempt a to bypass and manouvere towards Witzenberg to be able penetrate into our rear areas. We, 331st Pz BTN(mixed), have been tasked with delaying the ENY near Witzendorf in order to provide time for defensive preperations west of H7. You have assigned a BG consisting of 1x Armored COY and 1x Mechanized COY. The 3rd armored COY will cover EA1 will be released to BTN to provide reinforcements if needed. To our North the 11th Recon COY (HVY) will provide flank security. To the South 333rd PZ BTN is currently fighting over Mรผden and is expected to begin withdrawl within 40 minutes. BDE is focusing ENG efforts for PHASE 2 but have been able to provide you with a few minelayers for shaping effort. BDE is also providing your BTN with support from 2x flights of BO-105 to cover EA1. You have 2x BTY M109 for tasking and 2x M106(Sect) for smoke missions. M109 is for HE and limited ICM only. 2) MISSION: You (CO BTN) will: 1. DELAY ENY attack towards WEST. 2. Bypass Witzendorf city to prevent destruction of the city. 3. Minimize losses fall back IOT prevent being fixed by ENY. 3) EXECUTION: By COยดs Orders 5) COMMAND AND SIGNALS: Per SOP

  15. It was actually one of the most difficult scenarios I have done OPFOR for ... ever. And also: BLUEFOR actually DID use "Blitzkrieg" or Bewegungskrieg .... or maneouver warfare. But because BLUEFOR was no fools and they communicated well and was led led by a stellar and impressive CMD element, so @Figmo42@Apocalypse 31 and @Swordsmandk, then they reacted well as they should. Had they just pressed on then I would have decimated them. As it were they turned the tables on an enemy that had the doctrinally correct advantage of 3:1 plus supports, and defeated them first in detail, and then in their totality. This is how its done... if its done well and luck is on the side of the aggressors - so BLUEFOR because they took over the initiative and kept it with momentum and aggression. But tempered just enough so that they had combat power at the end. So even though 24 BLUEFOR callsigns were destroyed, then they achieved and surpassed all tactical goals. But in this terrain and with the numbers arrayed against them, then victory does not come cheap. I brought my A game. But was defeated and was left zero options. I was so stressed and pressed that I did not even use much of my considerable artillery assets, because I simply did not have time or opportunity. Just like BLUEFOR CO intended. The grades for BLUEFOR this Sunday is A+ .... And doubly so for @Figmo42 because it was his first big scale MP scenario as CO, in a difficult terrain, OPFOR matrix and with a lot of moving parts. 11/10
