-Enemy forces cleared up to PHASE LINE GOLD. Friendly forces of A SQDN have been reinforced and combat losses have been replaced.
-Lead elements of 2 BDE have arrived in sector and have cleared the enemy from the north, and currently await OBJ TAN to be cleared for onward movement.  Forces from D CO are available for tasking as part of your Battlegroup.
-AS90 artillery support is now available

-We assess the enemy defending OBJ TAN with 1x Mechanized Infantry Company and 1x Tank Company.
-They will attempt re-consolidate their defenses on OBJ TAN by retrograding combat power where possible
-They may also attempt to regain key terrain positions along Phase Line GOLD.

    Date:  2030/12/13
    ________________

    I. Situation

        a. Terrain:

            1. Heavy snow covers the landscape of rolling hills and valleys - road conditions are poor, some are covered with snow, and we expect a light dusting of snow to continue into all hours of the day.
            2. Major obstacles in this area include a large river that runs from north to south, splitting the BDE AO into two. We have 2x crossing sites, one to our south (land bridge) and a MLC-120t bridge to the southwest.
            3. Avenues of approach include 3 major highways in the AO; HWY 5 to our West (main BDE avenue of approach), highway 90 in our AO that runs north to south, and highway 10 in the southern portion of our AO that runs east to west.
            4. The landscape is dotted with small farming village, most structures are constructed from wood and lightely reinforced. OBJ TAN is one of the few major urban areas, with buildings that crest over 3-stories. Civilian population is not expected to be in the area- most have fled due to the heavy fighting in the last several months.

        b. Enemy:

An enemy mechanized Battalion is defending the area- they are composed of 2x mechanized infantry companies (BMP-2), 2x tank companies (T-72B3), and one light reconnaisance company (4x4 trucks), and are supported by at least one battery of self-propelled artillery, and mortar platoon. They do not have significant engineer support in this sector, and we do not expect any air sorties.

We believe the enemy is employing their reconnaissance company between Phase Line BRONZE and SILVER - they are using scout teams, supported by light vehicles to establish a disruption zones around a small protective minefield north of OBJ BLACK. They will employ indirect fires at choke points, and may call forward enemy armor from OBJ TAN if OBJ BLACK is threatened.

We anticipate at least a company of mechanized infantry establishing their main battle zone between Phase Line SILVER and GOLD- mechanized platoons, supported by T-72 tanks will defend key terrain (high ground and choke points) using platoon-battle positions established in-depth and supported by armored counter-attacks. We also expect most intersections and hilltops to be pre-sighted with artillery and covered by forward observer teams.

OBJ BLACK is being occupied by the Battalion Command post, and sits on key terrain that allows freedom of movement to the north and south, through the AO. We expect that OBJ TAN is defended by at least 2x platoons of mechanized infantry supported by tanks that are being held in hide sites to the south and west of the town. Being the location of the BN Command post, we also expect to see a significant number of support vehicles, and potentially their artillery positioned nearby.

        c. Friendly:

Our Battalion, as part of 1st Brigade, 3 UK DIV, is tasked with cracking the flank of the enemy forces - the goal is to destroy the enemy on OBJ TAN to clear a path for 2 BDE, approaching from the north

Our Battalion consists of 2x Companies (1 detached)
C Squadron: Armored Recon Company supported by 2x platoons of Recon Engineers
A Squadron: Tanks, supported by 2x MECH platoons from B Squadron.

    II. Mission

Our Task Force attacks to seize OBJ TAN, to pass 2nd Brigade, so that we may continue offensive operations to the south.

    III. Execution

        a. Commanders Intent

Purpose: Pass 2nd BDE along HWY 5 to continue offensive operations to the south.

            Key Tasks

                1. Reduce mine obstacle and seize OBJ BLACK to safely pass A Squadron
                2. Seize OBJ TAN - to safely pass elements of 1 BDE to the south

            End State
                1. OBJ TAN is seized
                2. Enemy forces defeated or destroyed; unable to hinder elements of 1 BDE as they pass along HWY 5
                3. Friendly forces postured to pass 1 BDE at H+4 HR
                4. Minimal collatoral damage or disruption to civilian way of life

        b. Concept

            1. At H-Hour C Squadron, reinforced with Engineers, will conduct a recon-in-force to clear enemy forces from OBJ BLACK.
            2. A Squadron (armor) will arrive once OBJ BLACK has been cleared- they will continue their advance south along HWY 90 and/or HWY 10 to destroy enemy elements in OBJ TAN.
            3. At H+4hr, B and D Squadrons will being their attack from the north- first clearing the river-crossing site (MECH INF CO) then continuing along HWY 5 through OBJ TAN and onwards to the south.

        c. Fires

            1. 3x 81mm tubes, in support of C Squadron
            2. 3x6 SP Guns in support of A Squadron
            3. 1x Company FO (C and A Squadron)

    I had no time left.

Unsure what was meant by "radio":

If they mean TeamSpeak then unlikely.

If they mean map updates - then you'll probably have delays receiving them but what you get should be accurate.

Entirely understandable - thanks for your time

Not entirely clear to me either. Maybe the effects of damaged RDO in SB ?

I dont think it was TS but not sure.

    Can I ask what 3 x 1 MLRS means?

3 individual vehicles with only one missile, 3 individual vehicles with one complete load, .... ?

    Ah - astute observation:

3 individual vehicles with 12 missiles or more accurately rockets each - so each fully loaded , and no reloads for any of them

Ops: Winter Storm - Mission 4 of 4 - Endgame
    by Nike-Ajax

    1. SITUATION

     a. Enemy.

The last remnant of the Motor Rifle BDE from the 9th Brigade have fallen back to defend their HQ and logistic node to the EAST in a hasty defence to our EAST. Given the losses the ENY have incurred over the last 3 engagements, it is suspected that what we faced was in fact a much greater force than expected.

Realizing that, then our attack yesterday was halted to consolidate, rearm and resupply, and is now ready to recommence. High Command have scraped everything together to make sure we have as much combat power as possible, given our losses over the previous engagements.

In fact these are not just the greatest losses since the Continuation war, but collectively some of the highest losses of any western army in decades. But we have hit the ENY much harder.

Eny BDE managed to stay mostly cohesive and have fallen back to take up the last desperate defence. The overall tactical situation thus remain the same: In this position they still threaten our Air base to the north.

We belive that they still, if given time will consolidate and reinforce and push West and North both threatening our Airbase as well as our HQ to the West.

We estimate that the ENY BTG to our East have been replenished as best they can pulling in whatever reserves they can including arming cooks, clerks and support staff, and thus to almost full strength. Drones, Satelite intel as well as direct communications from friendly LRRP striking the ENYs routes of communication and supply, confirms that ENY supply chain have now finally been decisively cut.

In fact our Jaegers have now created more than one MOTTI of encircled ENY reinforcements and supplies further to the EAST. The ENY are thus isolated and vulnerable.

However they know this as well and seem determined to give their lives up in a mostly futile battle rather than surrender. And it seems that the ENY had more reserves in theater than expected.

And the terrain favours the defence.

Special forces are still in place to our EAST and report that ENY has reinforced and consolidated their HQ (Reference map) with a large number of supply and command vehicles.

We have NOT been able to confirm OR unconfirm rumours that they have taken civilian hostages at the ENY HQ to ensure we do not strike them with INDIRECT, unless verified that there are no civilians present.

MCOA for the ENY appears to defend in place awaiting replacements and reinforcements, in HASTY defence. But with the risk of localized COUNTERATTACKS.

Our Recon seems to indicate ENY Engineers frantically working to the SOUTHEAST of the AO (Reference Maptrace), thus indicating a high risk of surface laid minefields there.

Intel confirms they are composed of T-72B3 tanks and BMP-2/BTR-82 mixed. They are supported by BDE assets, including strong AA of which some are SA19. So much like the forces you have already met and destroyed.

ENY have taken up a Defensive position around and to the EAST of the FLET, seemingly intending to die in place.

Strong ENY Artillery still expected in the AO.

Air Warning Red - it is believed that they held back their last remaing HIND-Es in the last battle

    b. Friendly.

Our Mechanized Battlegroup is to ATTACK and DESTROY ENY HQ, and in the process continue to attrit ENY BTG. Additional reserves are ready to our WEST (2 x TNK (LEO2A4) and  1x Mech plt).

        - B TNK COY (100%strength), 3 x PLT plus CMD
        - D COY (Mech) (100% strength), 3 x PLT plus CMD, Spike+NLAW combo (only small drones for inf PLTs)
        - Papa units
        - 1 x Romeo Section (2 x Recon BMP-2)
        - ECHO units (2 x3  Biber)
        - Hotel Units (AD, CSS, 1 UAV active, 1 UAV in reserve (on trigger) and HQ)
        - 1 x PLT MECHINF from F COY to the West  (on trigger)
        - 2 x PLT TNK Leopard 2A4 from G COY to the West (on trigger).
        - Your indirect package have been upgraded

    2. MISSION

BG will ATTACK EAST to DESTROY the ENY HQ and supply centre.

    3. EXECUTION

    a. Purpose.

The purpose of this operation is to DESTROY the ENY, thus removing the options for further advance as well as securing the Airfield to our North, as well as opening for the possibility of a total ENY collapse in this sector.

Avoid deceisive losses, BUT this is a high priority mission and HQ are willing to incur losses if it can not be avoided to reach the goals.

    b. Key Tasks

     1. Attack from West to EAST, destroying the ENY as you progress, and CLEARING the ENY HQ and supply node.
     2. Protect your flanks as you push East, but you do NOT need to clear the AO of every ENY unit, unless the CO choose to protect his flanks.
     3. Do NOT get fixed
4.Use bibers to make bridge crossings as needed or not by COs command and plan.
     5. A full Counterattack have been authorized by COs command and judgement, but do not risk the integrity of his command or the other tasks.

    c. End State

Key task completed. ENY HQ and supply node destroyed. Own forces able to execute follow-up attacks to clear the entire AO to the East.

    d. Fires

1x  AMOS PLT 2 x 3 tubes (with limited STRIX)
    2 x BTY 4  x 3 tubes K1 Thunder 155mm
    3 x 1 MLRS (NO reloads)

    >>>NOTES:<<<<

    1. Your artillery can be killed!
    3. You can NOT strike the ENY HQ with indirect - because there is a risk of friendly hostages. You MUST get eyes on first with OWN units - UAV is not enough.
    4. STRIX are only to be used for verified targets!
    5. BMS is on reflecting on modern units and BMS systems
    7. Drones can be used in the entire AO.
    8. Be careful of ENY AA - indicated range is a guesstimate and will change when and if ENY pushes AA assets forward.
    9. The Recon sections have UAVs. The same is the case with ALL PLT LDRs in the MECHINF PLTs. and for P41 and P44. All With Munin UAVs. Suggested that you use them.
