  1. What can I say? I feel the pull of Nurgle.
  2. This is a wonderful, amazing tank sim, and I know that I'm never going to have time to give it what it deserves. Plus, real life is making new demands on me, so I need to recoup some of my investment. I'm offering my copy of SB Pro PE (latest upgrade version) here for $99 (shipped in US) before going to eBay with it. I just bought the upgrade, so I've received a brand new disk and updated manual. Everything is in absolute mint condition. Of course you get my case and dongle too (and my earlier edition CD, if you want it). PM me here if you're interested. Thanks.
  3. I'm a bit confused about controlling the gun (or even just temporarily overriding) in the Leo1. I can read the tutorials and the Wiki over and over, but I just don't get it. Does anyone have a quick explanation of how to take over and designate targets in the GPSE view and the Pano view? One problem, I think, is that the instructions all call for use of Joystick Button 3, but I use a mouse. Looking at the command menu, there are a bewildering array of palm switch commands. Which of these do I need to remap in order to bring the Joystick Button 3's functionality over the keyboard in the Leo1 (without a conflict with other functions)? Sorry for the perhaps obvious questions.
  4. Dang--that means Itkovian already has version 2.5!
  5. Quick question: From where are the packages shipping, and by what means? Thanks!
  6. Would it be possible to post a list of scenarios that will need to be manually updated for bumpiness? Or even to post updated versions on the scenario database here?
  7. You're missing the obvious: ask yourself which units occur in almost every SB Pro PE scenario. It's all an elaborate set-up by Russia and her clients. Those T-72's and BMP's you zap are like crash-test dummies.
  8. Just to be clear (again, I've never worked with the editor): Is bumpiness set globally for the whole scenario (with, I guess, different terrain types scaling along with it), or is it set separately for individual terrain types (clear, woods, etc)? Or is it something we'll have to paint by hand across the map? If want to update, say, ten scenarios all using the same THM, would we have to change each scenario's values individually, or is it enough to change the THM once?
  9. Ssnake, I'm more or less a lurker, and I've never designed a scenario, but I'm anxiously awaiting the update and I have a question. Will the new version of SB Pro PE ship with some new (user-made) scenarios on the CD, and will these all be properly adjusted for the new bumpiness factor? Thanks.
  10. But will it run on their Saddam-era 486's with Win 3.1?
  11. I'd like to know too. It would be great to have a printed manual with procedures for all of the varieties of targeting systems we have now. And the new infantry behavior too!
  12. If the Spanish arrangements are excessively delayed, would it be possible to have a SB Pro PE beta patch with just the other improvements (but not including the Spanish vehicles)? I see so many other things in the list I like, it's painful to have to wait for them!
  13. Thanks for the help and advice, everyone. It turns out part 4 was the problem. I had to re-download it twice to get the full file (is that a server-side problem?), but now all is well. Off to the beta!
  14. Thanks, pvtkramer. I might take you up on it. First, though, may I ask someone to tell me the file sizes for the six parts? My file number 6 is smaller than the rest, which makes sense, but so is my number 4. Maybe that's the corrupt one. How big should it be?
  15. My poor saga continues... I downloaded all of the files, but during the installation process I get a message that some of them are corrupt. "Please re-download," it suggests. I wonder if I could appeal to a generous soul to burn the beta patch files to a CD-ROM and mail it to me? I could certainly Paypal you some money for postage and your trouble. Would anyone be willing? Preferably a US resident, as I live in Philadelphia. --Paul
  16. Alas. Thanks for the quick reply.
  17. Wow--I just saw that the 2.370 beta is a complete 535 meg download. Presumably this is because it installs a complete new version of SB Pro PE in parallel to the user's normal installation. Is this really necessary? The beta seems good enough for use, and it's a huge pain for me to download all those megs just for the new content, especially since I'll no longer use the non-beta installation. (My DSL has been very slow lately, despite my complaints.) Is there a smaller version of the beta patch that simply installs the new data on top of a normal installation? This would be much more user-friendly.
  18. Just ordered my copy! Here's my question: I know the software on CD-ROM will be updated to one of the more recent patches, but does that go for the Codemeter stick as well? Or will I still need to run the flash update for the stick? Thanks.
  19. Hi Ssnake, I bought SB Pro PE some time ago, then sold my copy when I thought I had no time for it. Now I'd like to purchase a new copy! (I just couldn't stay away...) My question: is it possible to pay via Paypal? For personal reasons, I'd rather not use a credit card. Thanks for the answer.
  20. This is what I'm trying to figure out: if someone makes a scenario using one of the standard original themes, will that scenario have to be fixed independently or will only the theme have to be fixed? In other words, will a scenario automatically be "fixed" after the next update if it doesn't require a new theme that didn't come with the game?
  21. Just to ask for a clarification... Ssnake, does your request mean that fixed terrain files will be included in the next version, and that these terrain files will be all that's needed to keep old scenarios from being broken? (In other words, we won't need to hunt down new, fixed versions of the scenarios themselves.) Also, will the next version include a lot of user-made scenarios, or just the basic originals? Thanks.
