  1. Hi and welcome! As suggested please take some time going through the Starter Pack and the Tutorials.
  2. Daylight Saving now in effect and AS time zones have fractured. By now most readers will already know who BG ANZAC is, so I'll put the information relevant to this week in first, then background, etc. If you are new to the Forum, feel free to read the entire post. IMPORTANT: As a serving Officer, I am not allowed to make "public comment" about topics without clearance. This is why my signature block says what it says to cover written comment. Recorded audio on YouTube = "Public Comment", especially if I were to express a personal opinion (without knowing someone was recording). In addition recording people's voices in Australia is illegal without their permission or a Warrant. If you want to record a session, ASK! We maybe about fit you in (I maybe able to play the OPFOR, etc.). If you don't ask: a. Expect me to ask you to remove the YouTube (or other media). b. Don't be too surprised if you aren't welcomed back. BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): Your Local time: Click on this link for Local time in your part of the world Count down: Time remaining until Meeting start Mission will start promptly at 0830 GMT. If you want a pre game "chat" then by all means come on line at say 0830 GMT, but so that the Kiwi's aren't after Midnight, the Mission will commence promptly at 0830 GMT. Agenda: Based on the recent sustained good attendance, we are embarking on a more structured approach (only sustainable if the attendance is maintained). Planned Agenda: 1st meeting: Teach / Discuss a topic (Attack, Defence, Convoy Escort, Reserve Demolition, OPs, ...) using a scenario / map as the basis for discussion. As to what we cover, that will be will be determined by the response to the related email "newsletter" for this Wednesday sent to regular attendees. 2nd meeting: First volunteer develops a plan for the tactical problem and we see how they go. There will be a brief debrief at the end looking at strengths / weaknesses of their solution, which the person COing the next week is free to incorporate into their solution. 3rd meeting: We play the same scenario with a different CO (each able to improve / adjust their plan based on their predecessor). 4th meeting: We play the same scenario with a different CO (each able to improve / adjust their plan based on their predecessor). 5th meeting (if there is one in a given month): Q & A - You need to supply the questions or a "player's choice" determined by responses here / to email. As always, visitors (apart from one individual) / first timers / spectators are welcome. Current Standard: 4.379 Refer here: Please use the new Calendar RSVP function or post here to facilitate planning. Emergency = Perhaps Teamviewer? Remote Access / Screen Sharing / Whiteboard Sessions: We continue the use of TeamViewer so people without the Steel Beasts software can connect and see and hear what we see and hear (looking over our shoulder if you like). Team Viewer available here This maybe a suitable vehicle for people to see what the software is all about (you can even use it on a Mac), without having to invest in even a short time limited copy. Anyway we'll see how it goes. So if you are interested, visit our Discord site https://discord.gg/YyrUtH3 and sign up.
  3. I think you'll find that's the time (almost 8pm). The date being 18 Jan 20.
  4. Unfortunately inside them the contents are different: The date and file sizes for "Wasserkuppe.dhnt" vary so I need to keep both.
  5. No, I'm happy with multiple maps, esp. if the names are unique. Now I know to retain the older ones to play with published scenarios that's fine and if I want to create a fresh scenario myself I'll just pick the newest map in the series.
Obviously a lot of work and ongoing dedication. My only concern is that as these revisions/updates are published I'm ending up with a map packages folder that looks like this, with currently 4 x "Wasserkuppe" maps:
  6. Thanks. My only concern is that I am now acquiring a collection of "Wasserkupppe" maps and since they are uniquely named I suspect that for example a scenario using "Wasserkuppe" or "Wasserkuppe 2" will not automatically use "Wasserkuppe 2-24"?

  8. FYI, when I use that code I'm told I already have it. Is this perhaps a revision or similar?
  9. Is it worth a Wiki entry from a Track IR user?

  11. I guess you didn't read my post above?
  12. There is a Wiesel with TOW as shown here in the Anti Tank category: Its just not playable.
  13. Would it be possible to have it as the behaviour for say a retreat route but in column formation? Retreat in say wedge, line, etc. could be used for the initial movement cross country keeping the vehicle facing the enemy, but once in column it might a safe assumption to make that the unit had made a "clean break"? I'm not sure if this would also apply for say a single vehicle where formations become a bit redundant?
  14. I know people think HESH takes a long time of flight, but I'm pretty sure it travels faster than 0 m/s: Range is approx. 1,000m: I can provide the full AAR and scenario if required.
  15. I perfectly understand. To me "wish" is just that and as I say its no a huge priority for me. If its not practicable (i.e. after an initial assessment its deemed to be too complex or need too many limited resources), then happy to go with "squint harder" and just assume the guns are facing the right way.
  16. This is not a huge priority for me but worth throwing in here. The ability to adjust how AI controlled vehicles look in the mission editor. For example I have a covering force coming back and conducting a battle hand over with the main defensive force. In the real world these vehicles, having achieved a clean break, would point their hulls towards the friendly lines and have their turrets at 6 o'clock so the friendly forces at the BHL had positive ID and knew not to shoot at them. Currently in SB I can either: 1. Give them a retreat route - vehicle reverses but gun is facing the enemy. This may be fine for the initial move but after they have broken contact the front of the hull needs to face the direction of travel. 2. Start the mission and immediately jump in the tank, manually traverse the turret to 6 o'clock, jump back to the map view, ideally before it starts to traverse back damage the turret (so it stays at 6 o'clock), pause the mission and "save as ..." That sort of works for one tank and with say 4 repetitions you can do a Troop, but by then its maybe H+4 and things like deployment zones have to be re-created and any time based events, or other activities need to be adjusted to reflect the new time frame - since most of them were created in the original scenario. Of course if you remember, you can do this turret work before you do anything else in the scenario so that say H+4 is really H hr in the final version, but it would be nice if turret orientation could be included in the initial settings in a similar way to say fuel state, ammunition load out, other damage types, etc. can be currently.
  17. Given that USMC got rid of their tanks a while ago, should we have the Alpha Company attachment in 2024? https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/your-marine-corps/2021/03/22/goodbye-tanks-how-the-marine-corps-will-change-and-what-it-will-lose-by-ditching-its-armor/

  19. Yes A6 happy (first screenshot taken just a fraction too early): A7 not so much: Vehicle on left scripted but stops at abutment. Vehicle on right manually driven just stops. A6 works fine in same scenario. 240205 Fuchs test_121812_020524MARKS_PC_2020702.aar Test scenario: 240205 Fuchs test.sce
  20. That's a railway bridge so it wont work like a road bridge (i.e. shift click march command). I recall editing a bunch of bridges on that map for @Nike-Ajax so that one of the Kanium multi mission sessions would work.
  21. Depends how badly "destroyed". One that's lost its turret and is burning fiercely can't be (IIRC), whereas one that still destroyed but not burning can be.
  22. I haven't heard anything to the contrary so I'll be prepared to host tomorrow morning.
  23. Does it matter if they are still fit for purpose?
