  1. Operation Scorpion Part 2 - Contact with advance guard

    Hanover Germany near Langenhagen.
    Day 3 of the War.
    SITUATION:
U.S. forces have shifted north after the diversion attack at Fulda.  The true axis of the Soviet armored attack is heading for the German industrial heartland.    If the Soviet armored onslaught cannot be stopped here only the nuclear option remains.
The advanced guard for the 2nd echelon 7th Soviet Guards Division is roughly 20 minutes away from contact with our forward scouts.  Position your forces now.

OH-58D Kiowa Warrior support on loan from 10th Mountain Division-  Set the scout route but no further east than defense-line BUZZER or you risk being spotted.

    COMMS:
"Condor" - Company commander - (voiced by Cobra)
"Hammer" - 1st platoon leader  1st Lt. Daniels - (voiced byTim Sielbeck)
"Torch" - 2nd tank platoon leader Sgt. Wilkinson (voiced by Alex Hahn)
"Recoil" - 3rd platoon bradley leader 1st Lt Dearborn (voiced by FalconKPD)
"Colt" - 4th platoon bradley leader Master Sergeant Hawkins (voiced by Krause)
"Fox" - Forward observer group (voiced by Alex Hahn)
"Spur"- Ranger Recon (voiced by Dunadan)
"Ramrod" - M109A3 Battery commander (voiced by Cobra)
"Soda Straw" - 10th Mtn Division OH-58D Kiowa Warrior (voiced by Cobra)
"Six" - Colonel Chaffee at the TOC (voiced by Cobra)

    Extra notes:
All sound files must be dropped in your esim folder under "media" for all the custom soundwork to work properly.
This scenario was put together with the help of the voices above and with the best intelligence available regarding forces in the AO of the era.  While normally the BOAR would be handling the area to the northwest of Hanover, in this scenario a feint to the south has drawn British forces away due to soon forseen issues of war leaving US armor forces rushing to meet the enemy.
After consulting SSnake, the following airport, Langtenhagen, is NOT municipal in real life nor is it to the north-east of Hanover (it is to the north-west).  Thank you Nils.

Also, UAV visuals were used seeing how the best I can do in terms of using the mast-mounted systems of the OH-58D at tree-top level.  This is due to current limitations in SB Pro.

Ammunition in both tanks and in the hands of infantry is as accurate as possible to this era.
The challenge of this mission is to defend a wide area.  The advancing forces are the advance guard of a Soviet tank regiment.  The main body of this regiment will be seen in missions 3 and 4 in this series.

Helicopter support through OH-58D is available along with M109 support to the north.

Should you have issues or spot bugs please contact Cobrabase so that I can remedy the issue and build a more realistic experience. No doubt some issue will arise.

  2. The Battle for Fulda South

Greetings fellow trackheads. Well after a lot of here and there work over 2 months I've finally finished a decent first version of my best Fulda defense mission yet. Thanks to Warulf for his incredible map of Fulda. Mission would be a flop without it. You've got a little bit of everything in this mission but the freedom to move your forces as you see fit. The AI for minebreaching is not wonderful. Maybe one day it will be smarter. Should Soviet units not breach correctly I have removed password lock-out from the Soviet side for you to be able to tinker with them. REMEMBER THAT THIS WILL SPOIL MY SURPRISES SO I ONLY ADVISE THAT YOU DO THIS AS A LAST RESORT. I'm sure there are still bugs so bear with me. T Changes made: More baddies and more of a challenge. Less hang-ups in the minefields. Better scripting for smarter AI. The Soviets are more aggressive. M-88s available for recovery. This Scenario is meant for hefty machines only as frame rates on less powerful systems may make it unplayable.

  3. Operation Scorpion Mission 3

Operation Scorpion Part 3 - Contact with advance guard
    Hanover Germany
    Day 3 of the War.
    SITUATION:
Roughly 2 hours ago the advance guard of a Soviet armored regiment probed the area to the north and east of the airport.  While your forces inflicted serious damage on their recon efforts, no doubt a route was radioed back to the main force to the east.    The armored fist of the best armor the Soviets have is on its way.  Your forces have replenished themselves.
Condor's plan is to position bradley forces with ATGM support to the far east utilizing cover while primary tank platoons hold back as intelligence develops.   One strip of FASCAM is available.  A-10A Warthog support may be available soon for gun runs.
BAOR forces from the north-west are approaching but there is no current ETA.
Slow and destroy as much attacking armor as you can.  We figure roughly half the regiment can fit through those passages to the east so we are looking at roughly 14 platoons.... or more.

You have M109 support but keep it accurate.

Well....  at least it has stopped raining.
    COMMS:

"Condor" - Company commander - you (voiced by Cobra)
"Bloodhound" - Avenger commander- Sgt. Polaski (voiced by Irishtank42 USA)
"BRAVO 21" - Medical m113 - Lt. Stevenson (voiced by Alex Hahn USMC)
"Snake" - XO 1st Lt. Argenson (voiced by Cobra)
"Hammer" - 1st platoon leader  1st Lt. Daniels - (voiced byTim Sielbeck)
"Torch" - 2nd tank platoon leader Sgt. Wilkinson (voiced by Alex Hahn USMC)
"Recoil" - 3rd platoon bradley leader 1st Lt Dearborn (voiced by FalconKPD)
"Colt" - 4th platoon bradley leader Master Sergeant Hawkins (voiced by Krause)
"Fox" - Forward observer group (voiced by Alex Hahn)
"Spur"- Ranger Recon (voiced by Dunadan)
"Six" - Colonel Chaffee at the TOC (voiced by Cobra)
"Snout" - A-10 pilot (voiced by FalconKPD)
"Sword 6" - BAOR Task force leader (voiced by Matsimus)
"Gaintlet" - BAOR 1st platoon leader (voiced by Falcon BMS God of wind Ghostdog688)

    -----------------------------------------------
    From the creator:

All Soviet forces are randomized for replay value.
You have ONE strip of FASCAM.....  ONE.   Try to order more than one and you'll kill the mission.
This is only HALF of a reinforced Soviet armored regiment...  mission 4 has the rest with....   surprises.
Challenger 2s with 1989 ammunition and no TIS is the best I can do with stand-ins for Chieftains.
I apologize the Brits are not in proper uniform.
Version 1.01 will give you an end of mission message after enough of the enemy has been serviced.  Please understand that the message will be in the lower hud.... the scenario will NOT end.  All scenario shut-down logic slots are used to ensure people don't cheat with multiple FASCAM strikes.
A special thanks to all those who contributed their voices to this mission.  All my best.
    Have fun.

  4. Operation Scorpion Mission 4: Killing Ground

    Hanover Germany
    Day 3 of the War.
    SITUATION:
An hour and a half ago American forces together with BAOR forces fought off a large attack from Soviet Guard armor.   The final wave is expected soon with reinforcements.   American forces are running low on ammunition and must proceed to the west to reload allowing the BAOR forces to defend.
The enemy knows this.  The enemy also has good data on BAOR positions aside from first platoon to the north.
Expect a full-on armored fist with the best the enemy has.  Watch your flanks as well.
    MISSION:
Hold the airfield at all costs.  The only option left is to go nuclear to stop the Soviet armored attack.  If we can hold here we can counter-attack in 2 days when 2nd AD arrives from the US mainland.  If Soviet forces break phase-line gauntlet it's all over.
    COMMS:

"Condor" - Company commander - Cobra
"Sword 6" BAOR force leader- Matsimus
"Granite" - BAOR 1st platoon leader- Falcon BMS God of wind Ghostdog688
    "Dagger" - Cobra
    "Claymore" - Figmo 92
    "Mace"-  Rob Evans
    "Griffen" - Cobra
    "Bristol" - Cobra
"Rattlesnake" Apache flight section 2 - Dunadan
"Poptop" Apache flight section 1- FalconKPD
"Recoil 1" - Bushido Devil Dog
    "Torch" - Tim Sielback
    "Hammer" - Cobra

    From the creator:
Welcome to hell.  This is it, as tough as it gets.
No one likes to retreat but now it's time.  Soviet forces are too plentiful and it's time to use terrain to your defensive advantage.   Fall back and choose defensive position for the armored hammer approaching.
-USE YOUR INFANTRY IN WOODED AREAS!
-APACHES ARE POWERFUL!  USE THEM, RELOAD THEM, USE THEM AGAIN.  There is ammunition on the runway to restock them. Stand-off ranges only!
-Arty is available!  Put down lines of DPICM.
-You need to re-load your M1A1s.  Locate all your resupply assets and then allow the reloading to complete.  BAOR forces are ready to go but don't send them out to the east.  You'll regret it!   Remember...  DEFEND GAUNTLET!
-Forget out-flanking the enemy on this one...  that would be like trying to outflank an ocean.  Defend with MULTIPLE LINES!  Soviet doctrine is to overwhelm, break through and then EXPLOIT the break.
The mission will show an ending message and audio file if the enemy breaches the gauntlet line but for some reason SB Pro will not end the mission if enough of the enemy is killed.  I have consulted the forums and as of this build no one has any explanations.   If the enenmy breaches the gauntlet line you will get a nice audio reminder of the nuclear fire-war to come.
All my thanks to all my voice-donators for all four missions.  Thank you all.
    Have fun.

  6. Deadly Intentions <ver. 2.654>

"What do you mean you "JUST LOST THEM" Dammit?!"

The captain was pissed. He should have been. The war was supposed to be over seeing how the cease fire was starting in 4 hours and there had been no provocative movement from the Soviets in 6 hours.

The captain lit a cigarette and took a long drag while holding the handset. It had taken 10 hours of travel-time to get to this ice-covered hill to re-enforce Team Bravo. Everyone was exhausted and stank from a hellish combination of grease, cordite and sweat.

The war had turned ugly after Birmingham England had been hit by SS-18s 12 hours earlier. The US has responded by destroying Kiev with a single Trident-2. The Soviets appeared to be backing down and everyone in the company was hoping they'd had enough.

Somehow G2 had lost the Polish motorized rifle company overnight when the weather turned bad. Probably everyone back at corps was celebrating the news of the cease fire.

All intel knew was that the small Polish unit was still moving south despite the cease fire news. Your company had been sent to aid Team Bravo of the Louisiana National Guard in hunting them down and destroying them.

The guard units had performed well despite their out-dated equipment but this was more of a mission for cavalry.

The men of the 11th ACR may have had 4-day beards but all of them still had the same shit-eating grins on their faces despite the lack of sleep. They were good... and they knew it.

"Well if you get ANY IDEA where they are it would be great to let me know! Blackhorse Delta-76 out."

The captain regained his composure and took off his kevlar helmet and leaned against his command track.

The First Sergeant emerged from the darkness, spit a brown stream of Skole Bandit and asked "Okay capn'.... whadaya want to do now?"

    Situation:
Intel has the polish coming down through the seam in the mountains to the north-east.

    Mission:
Do what cavalry does best! Find the enemy and destroy them. It shouldn't be too hard, you've got them out-numbered. Plus... how tough can the Polish be?
Deploy your units as you see fit. All you need to do is block them for 90 minutes and 2nd AD will be up here.

Cheer up... at least it's stopped snowing and the coffee is hot.

    ENEMY ASSETS:

G2 says the unit will be comprised of a combination of some T-72As along with older T-62s. Infantry will most likely accompany the armor in trucks but the infrared imagery from the U-2 flight was a little hazy.

Polish artillery is in range of your AO so prepare accordingly.

No air assets in the region due to F-15C BARCAP in the region. Rest easy. The war is almost over.

    ******
CB strongly advises that you NOT run an after-action report showing ACTUAL enemy units unless you become completely frustrated. It spoils the fun.

  7. Operation Scorpion Mission #1 (Introduction)

Operation Scorpion Part 1-  (introduction only)
    Hanover Germany near Langenhaden
    Day 3 of the War.

U.S. forces have shifted north after the diversion attack at Fulda.  The true axis of the Soviet armored attack is heading for the German industrial heartland.    If the Soviet armored onslaught cannot be stopped here only the nuclear option remains.
Civilian populations have taken to the roads and countryside fearing the nuclear count-down.  You arrive the to municipal airport of the AO where you have been hastily ordered to defend.
Proceed to the TOC as fast as you can to get a fast SITREP but be advised,  there is some traffic so be patient.  If you do not interfere with your route your driver will take you directly to the TOC.

Your infantry platoons and your XO arrived an hour ago and are waiting for you ahead.  Your twin tank platoons are ahead of you on the highway.
    COMMS:
"Condor" - Company commander - you
    "Six" - CO in charge.

After your SITREP become familiar with the map before loading scenario 2.  Don't set up your forces until you have loaded scenario 2.
This is simply the introduction of a 4-mission set.  The real action starts in mission #2 so don't forget to grab that as well!

  8. Take the Bridge 2.640

    My spin on "Meeting Engagement."

WWIII is a stalemate. Both sides are near either negotiation or going nuclear. This last push across the last remaining bridgehead could change everything. Take that bridge! You have a company of M-1s and additional infantry assets. 1986 time period.

  9. The Gauntlet (3.002)

Fictional mission taking place around 2004 between east and west.

A salient along our southern flank exists among swampy lowlands and heavily bombed and mined roads.
Whoever controls this salient and takes the town might tip the fight to their side. Drive the enemy force off this miserable
strip of land and maybe we'll all go home a little sooner!

Threats include modern Russian armor, dug in infantry, helo/arty support and a few surprises.
You may call on Apache support if needed but I advise only in an emergency.

Your forces include 2 platoons of the latest version of the Abrams, the M1A2 SEP. You also have been granted 2
platoons of mech infantry, a mortar platoon and a section of M109A3s stand ready with firesupport.
    KEEP THEM ALIVE!.

10th Mountain UH-60Ls are waiting to be called in to relieve you of babysitting the town but only if you can take it in the first place. You also have mine-clearing equipment but use it where you need it - once it's gone, it's gone.

Oh... there are a few surprises.

You move at 7AM. Good luck Captain. You'll need it.

  10. Cobrabase's Voice Recognition Addition

This is a rudimentary but effective voice recognition program called "Shoot!". Configurations are easy to make and I have included my first incarnation called "Pro." You will be able to instantly switch positions in the tank and go to the map screen with voice commands. There are commands to load different ammo types, deploy troops, switch sights, change formations, and my favorite - start and stop the engine (I don't know why). Be sure to read all instructions before you whine. Enjoy!

  11. Cobrabase's 11th ACR Bushwhack ver 1.1 (Point Alpha mod)

This is my version of 'Point Alpha.' First off... thanks to the mystery man who came up with that original! I loved it so much that I had to put my own spin on it. Ever want to just bushwack the Soviets? You know... we see 'em comin' and just pounce on 'em? Here's your chance. Pay attention to the triggers ok? If you don't call for your FASCAM early you'll have a whole new flank to deal with and a real challenge. For more fun, call it in and chew them up. Three axes of attack on this one like the original Point Alpha (4 counting the Hinds). Use your listen carefully to comms getting hints as to where the enemy is. You have three traps to spring and if you spring too early the mission will get that much tougher! If you do it right the plan works like clockwork and you get to watch them burn. I'm including one of Daskal's kick-ass ambient sound mods and one of Banshee's (I think!) skies. Both are in the credits for the scenario. I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes here. If you guys want your mods unpackaged just say the word. I'm actually messing around with triggers for the first time in my life. It's simple I know so go easy on me. Version 1.1 has more bad guys and some minor fixes.

  13. Pershing Gamble

    April 2nd 1987
    SITUATION:
Arrival of Pershing 2 missiles in this sector will put a boot on the neck of the Soviets to come to the degotiating table to end this war in the next 48 hours.  The missiles are moving now and will be deployed 30 klicks to the south-west.   Reagan is in negotiation with what could be new Soviet leadership as we speak but the scuttlebutt is that the Soviet generals are no longer taking orders after what could have possibly a coup.
The only thing we know right now gentlemen is that the fastest way end this thing without all the pistols firing is to make damn sure the eastern flank of those Pershing 2s is secure.  The bad news is there is a fair change the Russkies saw the missiles arriving and recent intercepted GRU squak says they know the general area where they will be deployed.  Remaining East German forces may react as well but they are pretty shattered at the moment.  Don't count them out.
The Air Force says that it's experimenting with some weird kind of ground-searching radar called.... JSTARS?    Probably doesn't work but they told 2nd AD that there is vehicular movement coming from the east fast.
Our mission is to stop any soviet force from breaking out into the deployment zone to the south-west.  Period.

Now... the good news.    With all the snow melting we've got over-flooded waterways.  There is only so many ways an armorded force can get through this terrain.  We need to establish choke-points and hold them.
Artillery is available but has expended all DPICM at this time.
Get going Captain.  Study your map and come up with a course of action... but don't take too much time.

    Feburary 13th 1989

    The first domino has fallen...

Simple mission: Lead elements of a Soviet mechanized infantry regiment are probing through the outer defense lines of Fulda.  Whack them.
National Guard M-60A3s were on exercise to the south-west when hostilities broke out and the week-end warriors are scared shitless.  Use your new M1A1s utilizing the terrain to stop the enemy advance.
You have a platoon of mortars ready to provide indirect fire.
Enemy consists of T-64B along with mechanized infantry.
No triggered ending.  Lasts approximately 25 minutes.
